Traii, hi chick, you are right about the time here, been up since 5.30 ! Slept five hours, then woke for loo. Got back in bed and DH snoring like a road drill. Lay there for another half hour then got up for mug of tea.
Catching up on TV recordings and feeling bit low, mind does wander in the night, hard to feel positive. Hey ho, will have to try and put on smiley face for DH.
SE's haven't kicked in too bad thank goodness, mouth a bit like a bin but tongue ok, yay. Pipes burning like I have drunk bleach again but I have to eat due to diabetes so will try and find something warm and soft. Maybe a duvet lol.
Sorry you had delay on treatment too. Sometimes it is an extra long journey. Your Mum sounds like an Angel DS must adore her.
Sorry to moan, bit tearful, think sodding steroids not doing their job. Will try to hit Bingo this afternoon, might win enough to come and annoy you in person.
Look after yourself today xxxx
-
Edi hun , You know I was just about to say this doesn't sound like you must be the steriods talking

We all have moments when the mind wonders, mine does sometimes at craziest times by just looking at my DS or looking at my DS adoring my parents and thinking silly silly things!!
I absolutely loathe getting up to go to the loo overnight then coming back to bed to hear DH snoring his butt off and then I toss n turn trying to get back to sleep, arghhhhhh!!! I love him, but would love to 'smother' him at times lol....
Lol, funny you mention Duvet,I just only found out what that mean't while looking up UK sights for a Fireman Sam 'Duvet' for DS.....when I spoke with my cousin I said its so hard to find a Fireman Sam 'Doona' here and she laughed at me saying she hadn't heard 'doona' in so long it sounded funny as in the UK you brits say 'Duvet'....(sounds a little poshy)

Oh I use to LOVE bingo going with my mum and nanna (god bless her) I use to laugh every time we went .... Its hard to shut me up on the best of days, and at Bingo well all the ladies just look at you with evil eyes even if you cough....lol.......I just went there to warm up the seat and donate my money...but it was fun.....GOOD LUCK at Bingo .... hope you do get to go, win the Jackpot and then you can come visit me in person....I have 2 spare rooms......one for you and one for your DH the Steam train....lol.....and you can bring your grandaughters to come play with my DS!!!
Enjoy your day and that warm cuppa (that you are probably on another by now) .... keep warm xxx
-
Traii, many thanks for that it helped cheer me up. X
Third cuppa so far, can't kill the thirst, lots of water too.
You wil always be there for DS and one day be a Nana to his little ones. Then look back and remember the Warrior Sisters and Edi and DH will be flying over maybe at the speed of sound by then and clanking around on our Zimmer frames lol.
Hope your DH keeps to noise down tonight. Mine has just fallen out of his pit,. 9 am here.
Hope you got fireman sam cover for your DS "doona"
Rest and get over today xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -
Ahhhh take 2, damn machine lost my email and I was about to hit SEND !!!!!
Well I'm glad I helped cheer your up beautiful lady

Good on DH sleeping until 9am....half his luck !! while you sit there sipping on your 3rd cuppa. Any fluid is good fluid...(oh except for Alcohol they tell me )! lol
We did get the fireman sam 'duvet' just before christmas, but it was the wrong one.....so we just got the right one yesterday actually....the lady was so nice from the ebay shop, she said to keep the 'wrong' one and give to DS at christmas time so he still had a doona to open up from my parents.....so now he has 2...bonus

Well off to the loo I go, doing my head in but I guess drinking lots is gonna make you do that hey.....!
Well enjoy your day beautiful lady....hope the sun is shining a little for you today and that you do go to bingo with no SE's . Remember , cheer up, its the darn steriods, perhaps you need to make a phone call to your darling grandaughter to help cheer you up a little more.

I'm going to rest on FB now playing bingo and bejewelled while DS gets to sleep 'when' he gets to sleep !!!

Benny-
The girls are right. At least call today and see when u can get in. U need to have an energy source in that body.
Edi, Traii-
U girls crack me up. Sometimes I have no clue what ur talking about.... Lol.
Edi - I think it is the steroids. They made me sad too. Thanfully I only have to take them before taxol this time.
Hope everyone has minimal SE's today. Keep up the good work!! We got this😍😍😍 -
OMG- had to share. Was just putting lotion on my legs and there was stubble!!! Guess I have to check under arms more carefully now... Haha
-
OMG congrats lol (I think) ......how exciting is it when there is stubble...I have stubble on my legs...not enough to have to shave, but there's definetly stubble.

I had rads under my armpits when I was 18 and they NEVER grew back so I don't have to check on that one....lol....I only had to shave my arm pits a hand ful of times in my life

How you feeling anyways Dakota ? Hows the kids ? Did you manage a little rest inbetween all there sporting and running around hun ?
-
Dakota, sure you and Traii are right, freakin steroids !! Just decided to chill out today. I am going to spoil myself. DH making me buttered crumpets Yum nice and soft.
Love the stubble ! congrats. Hair on my head really prickling as about 1/4 inch long none back enywhere else lol.
Hope you are keeping well. xTraii,My little ray of sunshine. Bingo not happening, still in pj's but gonna do what I want to ( sod all ) until this feeling lifts.
Weather is sunny, so that is nice and GD coming to see baldy nana after school, Bought her a pink crochet pull on hat with lovely flower on the side for her London trip this weekend. They are staying in hotel overlooking Trafalgar Square. Doing all the tourist things and she thinks she will see the Queen waving out of the window at Buck house.lol x -
Oh yum buttered crumpets, stop you're making my mouth water!! lol I'm suppose to be going to bed instead you're making me hungry

Happy that you have sunshine and it's good you decided to chill with DH and have a ME day.....you got to love those
especially when you are feeling a little 'under the weather' with these bloody steriods. Did they say how many mg of dex you will be having with CMF ? I'm down to only 8mg through IV opposed to 16 mg daily for 3 days and I feel the difference BIG TIME ....
in a good way!! Wow , great news about your hair..... and with CMF you shouldn't loose it, perhaps only 'thinning' is possible. So far hair on my head is growing ( the long bits that didn't fall off....I'll have a comb over soon, oh how sexy! ) lol.
Lol, your GD thinks she will see the Queen waving out of her window.....well maybe she just will with her pink crochet hat with flower on it.....sounds really nice.
Say hi to your GD for me from your baldy friend in Aust .... lol
-
Traii-
I do feel ok. It's weird my baby ties hurt ?? Especially in shoes but after some Motrin they are ok. I shouldn't even mention it but its weird. I don't get much rest. When the kids go to bed is all. We have something just about every night. It's ok. Keeps me going. They are only young once and I want to be a part of it.
Edi-
I hope ur GD does see the queen😃😃😃 -
Traii, DH is just going to work, so I will literally be able to do whatever I want yay.
He is home about 7 pm so going to cook prawn jambalaya for tea. .will send you some lol
.Rest of the day just splatted on sofa, going to watch true movies later on sky tv.
When Ed comes later going to get her to help me with posting some photos so watch out.XDakota, take care of those feet. When I worked as a waitress the one thing I always invested in was really comfy shoes. You must walk miles with the children.Girls bought me one of those vibating foot baths, now that is heaven soothes away all the pains.
Will let you know if her Madge invites GD in for a cuppa.
Many years ago someone we knew was working on the Queen Mothers home painting the outside. The door opened and she invited all the workmen in for a cup of tea, then proceeded to get out photo albums of the family to show them. They said she was just like anyone's Nan.
Can't see that happening these days
x -
Can I add my husband to the list of "sleep snatchers"! I can so identify with the love him, ready to smother him feeling. It does make the nights longer, doesn't it, listening to him rattle all night.
You know, Edi, you're allowed to be normal and have an "off day". It is smart to give in to the pj's and couch every now and then. You seem like a really busy lady, and I bet in your "former life" you had down days too? It's called reality.
Has anyone heard from Bevlee? Seems like a long time since she posted, and the fire situation in Aus sounds dreadful. Hope all down there stay safe.
Heading out soon for another mountain fix. Trying to keep my cardio up before big consult in 2 weeks. Don't want the surgeon to say I'm too old and out of shape for such a huge surgery.
Benny......make those calls!
-
Edi - sorry to hear you were feeling down today, hope your visit with your ED and GD helped. The prawn jambalaya sounds wonderful, hope there was enough to share with me also

Traii - sorry to hear you had to wait so long for chemo, glad it's done. Love your avatar, you are cute
Dakota - I better start watching for stubble myself! The feet symptoms seem to happen with the taxanes.
I do have to confess that I had a hard time understanding a lot of what Traii and Edi posted but then you started talking about your baby ties hurting, thinking maybe I may need a whole new dictionary for this thread
Benny - re: anything urgent - TBCC is the best resource at the moment. BCSCF make an appointment with you and a nurse calls and interviews you, they also obtain a copy of your medical record from oncologist to help them help you.
The 'Eating for your Life' class at TBCC is being held next on January 16th at 10 a.m.
The TBCC class on Breast Cancer - Special Food and Eating Issues starts in February, first one Friday February 8th at 1:30 p.m.
Link to info and phone numbers for support and classes TBCC -
http://www.albertahealthservices.ca/facilities.asp?pid=facility&rid=1007362
There is more information in the 'Patient Guide to Cancer Care' book they give at the orientation class. The number for the dietitian is in there - 403-521-3719
There is also a 'Fatigue Nurse' - 403-698-8104 and lots of other resources.
Hope this is helpful.
Hugs to all ((())) -
Web sister -
I didn't even notice I always post from my phone u gotta love auto correct!!!! My toes/ ties are good do u know if they get worse each time???
Thanks for ur research!! -
Dakota - mine didn't seem to get worse each time, I think Traii's worst feet symptoms were the first time, mine were the second. It seemed I did have different symptoms each time.
iPad seems similar to phone, I have it down, submit, go back and read and find out it decided I must have meant something else and 'corrects' it for me
Have a good day -
Web sister -
Thanks for letting me know. I am hoping they don't get worse. I will find out next week... Lol
Enjoy the day -
Edi, so sorry you are feeling down.. It makes my heart hurt.. Like everyone said it is probably the steriods I have read so many side effects that those darn things cause.. Just took my first dose before my treatment tomorrow. You will be yourself soon!
Traii, you are beautiful! Hope you are doing well today.. The nurse called me yesterday and I asked if I could ice my fingers and toes, she said absoluty.. Thank you for reminding me.
Dakota, you are right they are only young once love them up... Sorry about you little toes..
Nihahi, so nice for you to be here with us all.. I too hope Bevlee ids ok..
Websister, hope you have a great day..
I picked up my wig yesterday, it looks almost exactly like my short cut.. highlights and all.. I don't plan on wearing it much I also got a few little cotton caps and two hats.. you all will be getting your hair back and I will be sporting the wig and hats..
Benny, thinking of you!
Everyone have a great day.. Love you all.
Carla

-
Carla - we will be in your pockets tomorrow, make sure you wear big ones

-
Carla, thanks and I have had a lovely day just relaxing and sure I will feel brighter tomorrow.
You really need to have huge pockets with us all in there as Websister says.
Sure you will get through it with no problems. Don't forget the lemon drops to help if mouth feels dry. I had them this morning and they really cut through the strange dry feeling you may get.
please post as soon as you feel up to it, will have everything crossed for you.
The wig is handy to have, but around the house I just go naked lol.Websister/Dakota, tickles me when you say you have a job understanding Traii and I.
Jambalaya on its way Websister. Hope Benny gets the help she needs and deserves.
ED and GD didn't show
DH will be home soon full of stories of his day to make me laugh.Niahai, is there any man in the world who doesn't snore ? I used my little hand held recorder one day to let him know what he sounded like and the look on his face was priceless ! My youngest daughter sleeps in another room when her DH starts. I would but can't fit in the toddler bed in the GD's room lol.
Hope the mountain fix went well.Bevlee, come in and put ALL our minds at rest.
Dakota,look after yourself.
Benny, hope you got an appointment ?
Edi x
-
Behind again in my reading but just popping in to say I got an appoinment with Dr. Taylor at the BC Supportive Care Foundation for January 29. That's the earliest they could get me in. They must be busy! I've had my mashed potatoes this morning (have been up since 0330) and am heading off to the farm. Edi, I hope the burning pipes subsides soon. I know what that feels like. ♥ My chemo has been postponed again due to burning pipes. I weighed in at 123 pounds this morning! Haven't weighed that since junior high.
Websister, thank you so much for the info. I will go to that February 8 eating workshop for sure (have written it in my little red book). And I've bookmarked that AHS page with all the listings.
Okay, will catch up when I return from the farrier. Love to all!!!
-
Well 530am here and my steam train DH Is off to work!! Now I have an hour until my alarm goes off:(
I use my phone recorder and tape dh...he doesnt believe its him!! He told me just before that i woke him up with my laughing in my sleep....well i cant remember and glad i was laughing and not crying!!!!!

Benny good girl making the appt.

Bevlee come in girl u ok?
Havent heard of fires in Perth and most in Aust seem under control as weather has been on our side though tomorrow will be around high 30s so they are ready for bad fires again:(
Carlads thats pocket better be huge:) we r thinking of u. -
Benny - glad you have appointment and will go to that class but please call the dietitian tomorrow so you can get things on track sooner than later. Xxoo
-
Traii, jambalaya good, even though it was spicy it actually helped the pipes, burnt the burn lol.
Sorry didn't answer you earlier about the amount of fluids with iv, I really don't know just know it was a lot with the epi as it burns the veins. Will have a good look with the cmf but as syringe they may not do it.
when do you have the neu shot ? is it day after chemo, It seems to be doing the the trick.
My DH didn't believe the recording I did was him either, aren't they funny ?
Hope you have a good day xBenny, glad things moving towards a solution for you. Hope Farrier did a good job on Di x
-
Hi Edi,
Lol burn't the burn hey......well that will teach you not to drop that extra bit of spice ! lol
I am not having the Neu shot with CMF...but did with Tax and it was 24hours after chemo.....it works wonders.
I had bloods on Tuesday for the CMF and guess what, my bloods were higher than they were with the shot....so I'm doing something right...and still going around the shopping centres....I'm not going to stop going out, just being cautious more I guess....but hey thats just me !
Men, only believe what they want to believe hey....bloody men!!
I'm working on a project for marketing at work so researching on the net.....and look were it gets me, on bc.org....lol whoops......!!
Benny, how did di go with the farrier, hope on best behaviour...!!
-
Edi, sorry to hear you were having a down day - but it sounds as if you are already returning to your chipper self! I admire your spirit and sense of humor.
I'm having steroids by IV, but not before (no mention of after either).
Carla, good luck tomorrow! I'm right behind you (port on board as of today - start Friday, also on T/C), so hopefully we can compare notes.
Benny, glad you're getting such good advice from your sisters here - Calgary seems to have some wonderful programs in place. -
Phew - you gals have been busy "posters" today! Long day for you Edi and Traii, but sounds like it ended on a good note for both of you. Benny, glad you made some progress with the appointments, but I agree with Websister about contacting the dietician sooner rather than later. Carla, I'll be jumping into one of your pockets too. I know you'll be relieved to have the first one over and done with. You'll do great. Dakato....I think you must be related to the energizer bunny, go, go , go!
Crazy fun day in the mountains. Roads were bare and dry all the way from town to the trailhead. By the time we had our snowshoes on, the snow started, and continued the rest of the day. We figured about 8 inches fell while we were out, and by last check, the area had gotten about 1 foot! Like walking around in a Christmas card. Not too cold either, so the shoulders and nose fared pretty well! So quiet and peaceful. I had you all in my backpack!
have a good night everyone, and a great tomorrow.
-
Forgot to add - Caitlin...put on the big pockets for Friday!!!!!! There'll be lots of us jumping in!
-
Good Morning Family.
Traii, lol the spices worked, don't know how but pipes not half as bad today
I have just got up after 10 hrs sleep !! Road drill went to work 5 hrs ago and it was sooo quiet. Miss him but not the racket.
I have had a shot so they must be going to carry on with them before CMF don't mind if it stops any delays.
Great your bloods stayed good.
Fancy you ending up on here, even in work youcan't escape us.
Feel a bit more chipper today, when DH comes home we are hitting the supermarket, then looking for wallpaper for our bedroom.
GD came in the end last night she loves the little hat and looks as cute as a button in it.
Hope you have had a good day xCarla, ((( Hug ))) sure you need one x
Caitlin,Get those pockets ready for Friday, my steroids were via iv too, great you and Carla on this part together, much less scarey if you can compare experiences. You will both be great. x
Nihahi, What a magical day you had, I really enjoyed it ! You are going to be so fit that you will hurtle through next part. x
going to shut up now for a while as face needs make over before I face the world.

Love you all xxxxx
-
10 hours Edi, fantastic, lucky steam train went to work so you can get extra sleep...lol
Good to hear GD came last night and loved the hat,... i'm sure she looked gorgeous and all set for London now to meet the queen

I'm glad the shots are working for you too, they are magic shots indeed.
Sooo happy you are chirpier today, told you its those darn steriods that make us do and think silly things...!
Interior Decorator Edi, what colour are you going to go for the wallpaper? Good DH is taking you out grocery shopping.....my DH is the worst, he ends up way behind me spinning DS in the trolley cart and I end up holding everything in my hand until they catch up, or should I say until I have no space left to hold anything !!! useless !! lol
Carlads / Caitlin, good luck with your first chemo, you girls will be fine...get over the first one and you'll be thinking why was I worrying for..... we're all in your pockets

Benny, hope you have eaten tonight ... please tell me you got something in your tummy girl ?
Nihahi glad you had fun in the mountains, it sounds so nice there

Websister/ dakota hope you ladies are doing fine.
xx Traii xx
