Konakat was best known as a Canadian spy living amoung the Americans.  She was loved and trusted by both sides of the aisle.  She was a true angel...not in a heavenly way...but in a human way.  She was a motorcycle riding, leather wearing, scrappy fighter who said what she thought without malice.  She had a beautiful dream before she died that gave her, and many of us, peace.  I picture her now in that peaceful place.

Funny thing is, they haven't had any Docs quit on them. Well there was this time my husband told this psychiatrist he was a ¥$&!?*#* and we got a letter suggesting he had nothing more to offer our son. But he was an idjut anyway.

Sorry to disagree but the mods were right to delete the posts last night - they were nasty and uncalled for.

A lot of assumptions are being made about the deleted posts, elsewhere.  While I appreciate "let's all get along," that is the opposite of what was deleted, and that was in response to a very gracious post by one of ours.  Sandy - I agree, uncalled for.

Suzie...my geography of that area isn't that great, but I believe the Okanagon is the valley that runs along the western side of the Bugaboos and the Okanagon valley connects to my father's town, Salmon Arm.

Really I don't get on the computer for a couple of days and find there hass been a bit of a stauch. MAybe the Canadians can come and help me throw pavolvas at the Australians not sure why, they haven't done anything at the moment but they are sure to soon. Sometimes I do feel really guilty about the socialist medical care we have here.

Things have been really quiet in this part of the world, everyone is on holiday of course so nothing happens. No politicans to create problems and our biggest worry is the weather. Unfortunately DH has to work through - his business is exporting fruit and vegetables and so this is the busiest time of the year.

It's hot and sticky here, think we might get rain tonight - well i hope we do.

Actually Suzie, it would be the waste of a good pav to throw it at someone but have seen it done in student days.

So, I'm in that between 60 and 65 neverland where insurance is very expensive, but DH may lose his job, and (thus both of our insurance).  He's 65, the rat, so he'll be fine.  Still annoyed at Obama for not having a national option, but at least I can't be denied coverage.  Eyeing Canada, though, and cold or not, looks pretty good to me.  I'm partial to the Montreal area.

There is a huge misconception still abounding that some of us don't get along BECAUSE of differing political views. That is not quite accurate. Differing views brought out some differences and created strife, but harmonious relationships and even friendships have also sprung up between both sides - and many times, those sides "met" while disagreeing politically on BCO.

Could not agree more about the need not to speculate. I was involved in one response to the first post deleted by the mods, so I know what that post said.  I briefly undid my block settings in the hope that I would hear some news about a poster I had inquired about (who I have always liked and is on the opposite political spectrum from me) - that is how I came to respond. Other than that, I don't know what else was written. The last two posts that are deleted on that thread I did not see, as my settings were back on - and I don't want to know what they said --or what anyone said anywhere-- so no PMs, please. 

"Eavesdroppers rarely hear any good of themselves" - that is such a true statement. Heresay and gossip only destroy and terrorize. IMO, it's a good idea not to put oneself in that situation - especially if the information encountered is from a source you don't respect. Oh, I'm guilty of seeking gossip - put me in the supermarket checkout counter and I will pick up a gossip rag while I wait in line - lol! Just make sure it's gossip that gives you a good laugh - and that you don't spread it.

There is one observation worth making: I have almost never heard the mods be so direct and unequivocal in their explanation for the deletions. I often disagree with their rulings, but this very direct note --and what I know of their moderation-- tells me that any reasonable person would have done as they did.

Chickadee - here's hoping you find a good replacement for your son's doctor. What a major drag!
