Retail Therapy

Up early as Macy's big last minute 48 hour sale starts at 7:00 AM. I only have one or two small gifts to finish up but Santa might want me to find something for myself! It's easy to go out at this early hour as our temps are still hitting the high 70’s during the day. Looks like that is about to change though. I just might be able to wear my favorite Christmas sweater on the big day.

mamglam get it if u can. LOL I love acsessories (sp) and a purse u like is so much fun--I'm into the scarf thingy right now. I gave my GF a fasion one and when my dgtr saw it on her loved it--I don't have one clue why I didn't get more--they were on sale with beautiful colors--so we'll get it but it won't come til after Christmas.

Happy Holidays and all the best in the new year! Hope that everyone is pain free, happy, and have peace in their lives.
-
Happy holidays to all my beautiful shoppers. Today is a day to put all thoughts of shopping aside and hopefully enjoy a wonderful time with friends and family.
Wishing everyone a peaceful, pain free, worry free day and the same for the coming New Year. Love you all. -
ABSOLUTELY cause you never know what next year will bring and if I can afford it and want it, I want to enjoy it while I can...

) after leaving the hospital the day I got my diagnosis I went out and bought an iPad
) Later on I bought a new watch, a Parajumpers winter coat and jewellery... I have been doing a lot of retail therapy the last year, "because I deserve it"

Right on girl.....that's my attitude too....mind you I was doing a lot of shopping before BC....hmmmm what was my excuse then...lol.....Oh I guess at 65, I don't need one💃💃💃
Have a great day with friends and family and peace and joy to all of us in the coming years. -
Well the fruits of our labor have been seen in my home so far and everyone was happy with my shopping. So that makes me happy.
Again peace, love health, and stress free for all of us.
-
Ok everyone is it still shopping or returning time==I was shopping for clearance on a couple of my sites--there was so much--I picked a whole bunch but I had to be practical so I have to really cut down--so I did nothing (so far) it was difficult for me, but I took control-oh and besides bein broke too
-
DH had to do a return at Kohl's this weekend. While he was in line I scoped out the clearance. Wish I had had more time, but I scored a great little black dress for $15!!! Hey, it might even work with my shoes! Lol.
-
This is the first year I did not go shopping after Xmas....I was away for a few days staying with family and did not miss the shopping at all really. It's a funny thing about BC, it puts things in perspective and I just enjoyed and cherished that family time together.
I want to wish all my fellow shoppers a Happy, healthy and peaceful New Year and can't wait to share more shopping experiences in 2013💃💃💃 -
went to Loehmans had money in my pocket and a coupon. Only found one item that I wanted to go home with was another scarf this one has pretty skulls on it. DD is telling me to slow down on collecting the scarves
-
NY--I'm laughing cuz I've been on a scarf kick for a long time--not for my head but to hide my boobless top and I love infinity scarves and my DD said about the same thing to me. I love the look of scarves, it changes the same top to a whole new look.

OMG--- where have I been that I missed this thread!!!!!! Retail therapy saved me this summer during chemo because it gave me a chance to not think about my treatments but it was a wonderful way to get some walking exercise in!!!!! I'm a Marshall's/TJMaxx/Ross kind of gal who just loves to look, try on interesting whatevers and come home with a bargain!!!
Wishing that this New Year brings wonderfulness to each of you!!!!!

Melrose - and the shopping you must have in Houston. I'm mostly the same kind of shopper with Thrift, Goodwill etc. thrown in for good measure as I quit my job in November and don't plan on going back. DH says it will work but must curb shopping. My weakness is grocery shopping because the closest shopping is WalMart 10 minutes away otherwise it's at least 25 minutes to Kohls, Ross, tiny Penneys. Good to have your here. Been kinda quiet on here. Maybe we'll get a little more active. Had the barn coat I bought at thrift store cleaned and love it. DD was here this weekend and she approved. Now again I'm not a fashion plate. Dress clothes for church and otherwise play around the house clothes (flannels at present) and my jeans/Ts.
Looks like it is absolutely pouring in Houston which it did all night here. Hope it keeps hay prices for the goaties down this spring.

Hi to all..... shopping, well when ever i get down i take a look at next on line, i order some of the things that catch my eye.....i keep telling myself i must stop it as most of it is sent back, although i do keep the odd thing, my son laughs calls my bedroom a warehouse lol!!!! funny i do find it helps to make me smile....anyway perhaps i should start some knitting keep me busy, i did make a blanket for a friends dog who was very old and poorly...that blanket was done in a week..as he needed asap...it sort of put me off knitting for a while. I work full time plus the warehouse so keep busy. Do any other ladies order online? hugs to allxxx

Most of my shopping is online.

I scored myself, although its not yet arrived, 2 new bailey 44 tops, 1 angora sweater and Laila perfume from Nordstrom.com. Although I'm only 2 weeks from being done- having te exchanged, remaking breast lifted and fat grafting, I am still very disheartened as my husband and I used to have SO much fun and used to go out to dinner sans kids, most Wednesday and Saturday nights. The last time we went out with or without kids was on 10/27. I'm really missing my life pre cancer. We seem to do nothing nor do we go anywhere. I've asked my husband if he wanted to go see a cirque de soliel(sp?) show which we usually go to when they come to town, his answer was an emphatic, no.
he hasn't wanted to do anything with or without me....what?! Is he the one who aged 5 years because I had a mastectomy or am I just gross to look at and no fun anymore? Sorry to e a Debbie downer but its really bothering me
-
Mericat....i am so pleased you have treated yourself you so deserve it....i guess bc enters our lives uninvited, whirl winds through and changes so much, leaving debris . Our lives will be different but at some point things do get easier.
It is only a few months for you, you have been through so much emotionally, and phyically, i can remember being a few months out, i just wanted to get back to normal, when all treatment is finished, are you going to take hormonals ........things will get easier and you will do the things you enjoy as a couple, or as a family, i know your husband has had his own emotions to deal with what has happened, you are the one that has been ill, you must take care of yourself, at the moment it is about you, you are the most important, sending you a huge HUGxxxxxx

Bought shoes and thread...
-
Cindy1.....love them both x
-
Already have sneakers in purple with pink laces and in the same shade of blue with chartruse laces as your wool, still looking for a pair of bright pink already have the purple laces for the pink ones. I live near major shopping centers in Jersey and work in the city so I'm annoyed that I haven't found the right pair of pink sneakers. I am starting to dress more colorfully since BC, got tired of seeing all the black and grey in the closet
-
O.K. Wait....what am I missing?
Sneakers and yarn, yarn and sneakers...
Are you crocheting custom-made shoelaces?
Knitting psychedelic leg-warmers?
Or does one have nothing to do with the other?
LOVE the purple, pink, and chartreuse sneakers!!!
-
luvmygoats- Yes, the shopping in Houston is great --- lots of malls, lots of outlet malls close by, lots of different places to shop--- to look---- to just window shop. I end up at Marshalls and TJMaxx because that's where I buy the Nioxin shampoo and conditioner for my ultra short hair!!! I welcome the rain here even if everyone else doesn't. BTW- where are you in Texas?
-
The only thing they have in common is the fact that my will power is pretty much nonexistent right now. I see it, I want it, I buy it... I never used to be an impulse buyer but now? Life is short! Buy both...
The crochet thread is to make "sleeve covers" to camoflage my le sleeve...
-
Cindy1.....just love those gloves...
-
Cindy1 Love those gloves too.
Welcome Melrose if u like to shop this is the place. I'm an online shopper only, my DD likes to walk around and really look--It's just fun. I even buy hangars on line(Joy Mangano) nothing slips off of them and I need more--I don't go anywhere. Mt GF sent me a beautiful copal and turq. necklace the other day. I like covering my breastless chest so I cover it up.
Merlcat I'm sorry u'r going thru so much now--But it must be very difficult for a man to try to wrap their heads around this, probably more scared than u are. But most men don't usually talk alot about it and I think it makes it worse. I certainly have no advice--no husband---in that way it was actually easier on me cuz I didn't have to worry about a man and how sad they can get. So hang in there he'll come around when he feels better about this. He'll be all right--u'll see.
-
Great thread topic. Online shopping helped me get through chemo.
-
Does anyone get the liquidation channel---it's not on everywhere---some is nothing I like but some thins are really nice for a wonderful price too.
-
Thought I'd mix thngs up a bit here with my latest purchases.
Today I got a pink stretchy sleeve that says NO NEEDLES/NO BP and yesterday I got a not-at-all-sexy compression bra.....FOR MY EXCHANGE ON TUESDAY!!!!! (Just a tad bit excited.)
And last week I bought a heavy duty floor stand and a welders mask to use with the bench grinder Santa brought me.
Yep. I'm quirky.
