    179.

Seems like a victory as no gain from the week before but I was at 177 before I left town....

Oh well, was worth every bite and now I can get back to work!!

You held the line. In diet-land that can be worth a lot!

Yes, makes it much easier to get back on plan when I don't have to make up extra!!

    KariLynn and Rose:
Starting to get "serious" again this week. I started yesterday and actually saw results alreay this AM - so that encouraged me. I am writing everything down and following the point system for now - it seems to make me more accountable. I do like the core and did well on it once but for this time, I'm doing the points. I'll get weighed next Tuesday - let you know.
Hope all of the other gals are doing well - Patti, NY Janet, and all.
    Blessings,
    Pat

It's hard after a long weekend.

If you're like I am you've been nibbling away the entire time and going for any period of time inbetween feeds seems like torture!

Actually, not like you in that!! I'm not bad at the snacking stuff - very bad at meal times and if there's dessert to be had, I'll be having it!!! Also drank more Pepsi this weekend than I have in a long time, there's nothing good about that stuff!

Not a good combination now, is it??

Well, my weigh-in wasn't too good at the office--but then I wasn't expecting much. Last night I completely blew my good work with pizza (salad-- at least one good thing) and pie.

Then I took my BP and the salt had me up again. You'd think I'd learn. Oh, well, getting back on track today!!

Kari, I think your weigh-in was a success!

    Hi all,
I did not make it to weigh in. I got my mri results back and I have a torn meniscus(sp?). will see orthopedic surgeon on the 7th. PCP basically told me to stay in bed until then.

But the good news is I've realized I have to be really good about my food until I get my knee fixed and beyond. If I would loose more weight I would have less knee problems!

    So I'm writing things down.

Denise, isn't that 10,000 calorie credit tempting. I've always wanted to be one of those people who had to eat chocolate malts and lots of icecream because they had to gain weight.

    Christine, hope you maintained.

Kari, I agree that maintaining over such a weekend is a victory and is a result of all the hard work you have been putting in. Your body is used to loosing weight, not gaining.

Susan - sorry about your knee.

At least if you're in bed you can't be running to the fridge every single minute.

Susan, sorry you're stuck in bed for a week. Hope they're able to get you up and around soon!

Patti, gardening is GREAT exercise!! WW gives you a couple points for 30 minutes of work. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

    179 again.

I've been bad - went way over points (about an extra days worth!) Poor plannig on my part - used all the extras at the movie Friday (milk duds & hot tamales) and had a wedding Saturday with rigatoni, sausage and wedding cake!! Oh well.

Am on vacation this week - fly to Atlanta tomorrow and will tour Savannah and Charleston with a girlfriend then go to her house in Piedmont for a couple of days. 5 days with no kids or hubby - WOOHOO!!!! Don't plan on tracking anything but will try to behave at least a little! She's training for the 3-day in Sept so we will probably get some walking in.

Hope everyone has a good week and shows a little more restraint than I did this last one!!!!!

Savannah and Charleston are gonna be hard cities to hold the diet in. The food there is wonderful. All those things with rice and sweet potatos.

Your best hope will probably be to walk a lot and not snack excessively.

At least down there you'll get offered sweet and not-sweet tea.

Both of our hotels have wine and cheese at night (one has milk and cookies too...) Will try to behave!!!

I like iced tea (not sweet) so that will work out. I think I'll do better at restauants than I did at the lake with all the bad food around - at least there should be good choices on the menu too. Also, DH eon't be there to buy the Milk Duds......

I will start chemo in 2 days (May 8, 2006). I thought I would hopefully loose weight. Why do we gain? I'm new to all of this.

    Denise,
I gained on chemo because I had to eat every 3 hours to keep the nausea down. If I had any brains, I would not have eaten as much as I did. Small meals every 3 hours are sometimes recommended.

Kari, hope you are having fun.
Patti, you will lose the weight. It takes time. We are retraining ourselves.
Denny4 I actually lost weight during chemo. 10 lbs. I gained it right back though ( and more).

As for me, i gained .2 lbs. Not bad cosidering I've not been writing anything down and eating what I wanted.
I started back this week and I've done pretty good. I've had several days in a row where I have made good choices. Progress not Perfection.

I feel I am getting fatter by the minute. I am not eating anymore than normal, I think I've actually cut back. No snacking during the day at work at least. I have been trying to walk several days a week - sometimes I am successful, sometimes not. If I gain 1 more pound I don't think I will be able to wear most of my clothes. I know that once chemo is over, it might be easiet to lose weight. I am just so disgusted by it all. All of my weight gain always goes to my stomach area. If it would just evenly distribute itself throughout my whole body, it wouldn't be so bad. I feel ill today too. Think I am coming down with cold or allergy. Certainly don't need that!

staples thats where my weight goes also. It should be easier to lose weight after chemo. you will be able to be more active.

Maybe you should crawl in bed with your little kitty.

Sounds good to me! He likes to wrap around my head - often lays his head on mine with his paw on my face.
I really am trying not to worry too much about it right now.

I had ice cream for my company, and some was left. I put it at the front of the freezer this morning in hopes my human eating machines, otherwise known as my sons, will make short work of it!

I too am up a pound, so it's time to get back on track. I guess it does count when you just have a bite.

We had some apple/fennel slaw at a place this weekend, so I'm working on the right receipe for that.

It is hard to keep pounds off. You really can't go around popping things into your mouth without thinking about it.

I had this cream I bought for tarragon sauce (to go with my tenderloin). I thought I'd put some in my coffee to use it up. Then I looked at the label. Ouch!!! Something like 5g fat in a tablespoon. Back to the skim milk.

Does WW portion you out among carbs/protein? Or do you just stay under your points and it doesn't matter what the content of what you eat is?

    Hi All,

I'm back. I am totally motivated, joined a gym and gained 5 lbs. Stopped going to the gym cause I can't afford another pound, and started to eat soup. Change out one meal for a 100 calories a can, anyone would lose weight on that. I'm still holding my own.

Does fat get glued on and turn to cement or something. I'm two years trying to lose the same 5 lbs. I don't even think about 10lbs anymore. That would be living in Fantasyland.

Rose, what is your skinny self doing in a place like this? I want to eat what your eating.

Rose: WW Core plan does sort of help you with the carbs/protein. It is very strict about what kind of carbs you can eat. It essentially eliminates the processed sugars from your diet. I find the program one of the best WW has ever had. - Janet

The Flex plan just makes you stay under a certain point count BUT you have 8 essentials they want you to get every day - your whole grains, dairy, protein, fruit and veggies, healthy oils, water, limit sugar and alcohol and a multi-vitamin.

By the time you get in all that you're supposed to eat, there's not enough points left to eat crap!! I've lost my vacation pound and can now get losing for next week's weigh in!

I've been busy counting fiber grams and getting used to fat grams. My fingers are a little puffy (both hands so it's not lymphedema) and I wonder how I'm doing on protein.

You should see me. I have this notebook I carry in my bag. It's got pages with grids and numbers for this count and that count.

When I get like the girl on CSI who was murdered and they discovered she was weighing input AND output it'll be time to check myself into a nice quiet place with pillows on the walls. LOL, she was 'anal' about her diet...
