Another barrier smashed!
-
Kari!
Way to go-you are doing so well and are my inspiration!
Denise -
Thanks Denise!
I had to go out walking last night after I put the kids to bed because I used every last one of my allowance points (most of them over the weekend!) and really wanted that number!
I just love WW. I really do eat what I want (fortunately, I like vegetables and am not a chocolate girl!) just watch how much and tracking everything makes me more likely to behave.
My dad said "Hi, skinny" today - that was fun! He'd never say too skinny so from him it's ok... -
Wow! Karrie! You're a walking/posting advertisement for WW! Way to go!!!

Hi KariLynn:
I am from central Oklahoma (Shawnee). I know where Grove is we hava another Lowe's store there. However, I have never been there.
I do have an aunt in Emporia. My uncle taught at the college there. Would you belive that I have never been to Kansas. I keep thinking that I will take off and go visit my aunt one day.
Thanks for the support. I am still hanging in there. I will keep in contact with you. Better go it is getting quite late. Take care and God bless.
Hobby -
Legend has it that there is a good hole-in-the-wall ribs place near Emporia. Not that anybody here can eat more than a bite without totally blowing their day!
-
I am still here
having computer problems
back on track
and down another pound
going away over holiday
weekend...it will be hard
but i will try to stick to plan
as close as possible
Have a nice weekend ladies
xoxo

Susan -
I lost ten pounds since April 1, 2006- and the best part that includes a week vacation and several parties!!!!!
The way- 1.) Switching from high fat ice cream to weight wathchers or skinny cow products 2.) Less portions! When eating out- I ask for the doggy bag when they bring my meal and half goes home before I start. 3.) No unconscious eating-if it goes in my mouth I write it down- 4.) exercise
5.) support from hubby -
Way to go Bancroft!!!! I think #s 3 & 4 are the biggies. When you KNOW how much you're eating, you do better.
-
Wow, KariLynn, are we ever on the same track!!! I had just read Bancroft's post and had written donw on a piece of paper, #3 and #4 - as being very meaninful points and I was going to respond to her, exactly as you did!!!! Scary, huh??? Anyway, I agree, writing everything down (being accountable) and exercise are the most important things for me right now. I have really been in a slump and have gone up about 2-3 pounds in fact, instead of going down. But, today is a new day and I have made a fresh start with a good breakfast and each point written down. Now for the exercise . . .
Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend.
Blessings,
Pat -
Great minds, Pat!!!
I just came back from the Y and DH asked how the swim went - I started with invigorating but then amended to arduous. I've only worked out 2 days this week and it was a chore!
Going out of town this weekend and hope to get in a lot of walking because I can guarantee there will be lots of eating!!
Have a great weekend everyone!! -
Way to go, Bancroft. Five great points!!! We probably eat way to much at meals anyway, even at home. It doesn't take much to satisfy the hunger pangs and a little more. I don't bag up half often enough when eating out, but I think I'm worse at home. DH is a slow eater and I eat a lot faster unfortunately. Slowing down the eating helps us know when we've had enough to eat--
On the other hand, dh is helpful with sometimes splitting meals when we eat out. The quantity of food these days is a killer. Literally.
Kari-- Glad to see you swimming. Most strokes are more calorie loss than walking. We need to walk for our bone's sake, but swimming is so relaxing. I like the nonsweating aspect too. I guess it's about crosstraining! -
Thanks all for the encouragement...that helps too...one more point that I think works is not throwing in the towel after blowing it, but reframing and saying oh well now that I had that piece of chocolate....I"ll walk that much longer or eat only a salad for suppper....so be gentle with yourselves and then take action! Have a great long weekend!!
-
Good points Bancroft. I to agree that #3 & #4 make a huge difference.
High-fat ice cream goes down SOOOOO fast, and then you want more. -
I'm going to try this weekend to not be as bad as I could be. Just finished cutting up peppers to take and have snack sized baby carrots. Have the cooler filled with water and just three little Pepsis (one per day....)
I printed out blank tracking forms - will write it even if I don't have a pc to tally it up - can probably ballpark points by now. Better check on chocolate sheet cake - that WILL happen!!! -
Kari:
Have a wonderful weekend!!! All of the good preparation you're making should stand you in good stead!! Have fun!!
Pat -
I'm hoping for good news from Kari today.
-
Kari just got back from the lake so weigh in will be tomorrow. I had a ball but there was very little restraint shown this weekend!!! (ultimate nachos, anyone...!)
Will fess up to the number in the morning - didn't want to do a different scale as mine is pretty accurate to the hospital and weighs a little heavier than most - didn't want to get excited....
It's 3:09 my time and the only thing I've had to drink today is Pepsi, not looking good for tomorrow... -
Well, remember me. I was remotivated. NOT! I will go weigh in tomorrow and see how I'm doing. I'm all for writing everything down. Be accoutable for what goes in your mouth.
Kari where was the lake you went to?
Bancroft, you sound pretty motivated. I like all your rules.
see yall later. one more bar-b-q for me.
s. -
I hear you, consistency in measurement is important...so is having a good time.
-
I have daily access to a professional scale and when weighing in on a normal Monday --I'm almost always a pound heavier than on Friday. Now with the holiday-----oh, dear.
Good luck on the scale, Kari!! -
Susan,
Lake is in Garnett, Ks. Not an exciting lake but that's where the family goes! -
Hi Everyone - I just got back from the Lake too (Ozarks) and all we do there usually is eat (and DRINK) Little too much wine probably, but did keep track of what I ate (although, steak, BBQ, biscuits did it all in moderation) So, I didn't have to pass on the wines. I even had a couple of Sugar free, low carb margaritas-yum!
Tomorrow I will weigh and hope I maintained. -
Well, I did find out that it was possible to go a whole week cutting down on my weaknesses-including almonds and dark chocolate. I actually only ate 11 almonds (2 WW points) and one square of dark chocolate a day for a whole week!!!
I am back down to the 4.5 pounds lost, which keeps yo-yo-ing anyway.
No picnicing for me this weekend, as I just stayed home and planted my gardens. So that would have helped me too.
I should get a 10,000 calorie credit for being good this weekend.
Denise in 91 degrees PA -
No 10,000 calorie credits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get a new book or dvd credit instead - you'll be happier for it next week! -
Yea Denise - Maybe a trashy novel, to go with that heat in PA. We have it here too, in the Mid West, Argghh!
Congrats to Kari and Denise for "sticking with it" -
I'm glad the almond strategy worked out.
Instead of a 10,000 calorie credit you'll have a lovely garden.
I put flowers in and came back out the next morning to find them all upended. They weren't eaten, just uprooted. So I put them back in again and this morning they were where I'd left them. Now if the deer and bunnies will stay away.
