Happy start of the week to all of you.
Schlep & sculpt at my monthly MO appt. this morning. I logged in about a mile hiking from one building to another and climbing stairs.
Mary Congrats that you're in on the 1/2 marathon. Carrol2 Happy Birthday!
-
Badger, have fun in Florida!! Walk the beaches for me.
45 minutes on the treadmill & 45 of toning.
-
Happy belated birthday, Carrol! Mary, congratulations on the half marathon spot. Tiffany jewelry beats a t-shirt any day!
Well I think I skipped 2 days of exercise. I was really dragging this weekend. Finally rebounded and did about 20 minutes of hula hoop plus 40 minutes brisk walk tonight. I think I spotted my favorite Christmas lawn decoration in the neighborhood-- a little T-Rex dinosaur holding a present in his tiny short arms.
-
Mary, congratulations and YIKES on the half marathon..... it would probably take the Hope Diamond for me to consider running 13 miles
! -
Hope you had a very Happy Birthday Carrol. Congratulations on getting into the marathon Mary now the hard work begins
. Thinking about you Misswim hoping that your dad is doing better. Lilac I have a friend in South Darenth so I've been there tons of times ... happy memories.Body combat class tonight and now I can barely lift my arms, that boy worked us out hard tonight.
-
Blood work today was awesome. From neutropenia and anemia a week ago to "normal" today. Of course I did have 2 units of blood and lots of IV meds. But today for the first time I felt good again and have done my 5 k walk two days in a row.
Taxol #1 tomorrow so we shall see how the walks go.
-
That IS awesome, mariane.
Belated happy birthday, Carrol! Am also dreading weigh-in tomorrow. I may just skip it. And it wasn't my birthday.
Half hour cardio and half hour weights and stretches.
-
momine u made me laugh...,Of course, there were many, many things I found completely impossible to do during chemo: vacuuming, mopping, toilet scrubbing, ironing! ...
i too can be very selective how chemo effects me, when not in the mood i also find all the above just about impossible..
have to have some perks to this!
today power walked for an hour, was bliss, music and just pumped it all out.

hi ladies, one last post before I head out.
Mary, congrats on getting into the half-marathon!
Happy belated birthday, Carrol.
Love to you all, Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, I'll be back in ten days! ((hugs))
-
thx and u too badger have a great one!
-
Liv, yeah, I joke about it, but I do think it really helped me get through in good shape. If it was something I enjoyed I pushed myself to do it. All the other stuff, not at all. It wasn't only mopping, but also stuff like dinners out. If the dinner was with friends I enjoy, I went even if I was looking near death. People I find a drag? Just feeling too, too terrible to go, sorry! It is actually amazing how good a time you can have if you get all selective like that. Not a bad lesson for post-chemo either.
-
Love how selective we can be, after BC! So much clarity comes from the diagnosis, a blessing in disguise I guess.
30 minutes of Physique 57 with DD. Good workout in very little time, we were sweating away. Not happy about flare of truncal LE with added activity. sigh ......
Safe travels, badger!
-
Mariane - fabulous news on the bloodwork - you must feel like a new woman. Badger - enjoy!
Agree on exercising the power of being selective about what we do and who we spend time with. It's quite liberating.
OK - I have a training schedule designed with the assistance of my marathon and Ironman co-workers. Now I haveto stick to it! 35 minute treadmill run last night, 30 minutes cross training (elliptical) this morning.
-
mariane i did a lot of elliptical when i had chemo. The steroids made me a little anxious and I could not sit still for two days that I was on them each time. I just got on the elliptical in front of the tv and tried to blank out. I had 4 tx of CT and neulasta shots so I did not have any trouble with neutropenia. Could not take the shot last time It was and my counts went right down. I got a sore throat for a week. I got a shot after that and then I was fine. I went to the gym with a bandana on. I love your attitude keep strong do whatever exercise you can. I am convinced that is why I had such an easy time with chemo.
-
Mary, that's so exciting about the half marathon. I'll be following you (virtually!) on your training runs.
Off to Zumba soon. Just have to make dinner first.
-
Thirty minute walk at lunch. Hit the gym after work for weights. Now I'm stuck on the couch with no motivation to get up and bake six dozen cookies for a cookie exchange tomorrow night. No one was really expecting I'd make it since I'm having chemo.... Hmmm maybe I'll play the cancer card and skip it this year. And then make the cookies this weekend!
-
Don't make the cookies if you don't want too!
Went to another Christmas thing after school (brought the 'little wienies' that you dump in a crock-pot with a bottle of barbecue sauce), then went back to my room and corrected papers until 6 pm. 60 minutes on the treadmill & 30 Arms/Abs/Buns of Steel once I finally got home since I had no need to eat supper!
-
I have to make 400 Mexican Wedding cookies for friday, I'm thinking of splitting it into two nights and I have two pot lucks on friday one lunch and one dinner I'm going to make a big pot of stew and split it in two not very Christmassy but I figure what's left over I can freeze.
Heidi I saw on tv this morning where they have opened a suspension bridge 1500 ft above a glacier OMG it looked so scary... when I come to Switzerland I don't want to take that tour, I want to tour the chocolate factory

Tonight I did Body Step class and half a Combat class, the gym is very quiet I guess everyone is at the mall or rugged up on the couch, it's absolutely freezing here and very windy.
-
Mary, wonderful that you got a number for the run and Badger - enjoy!
Off to freestyle step and Cheryl, my gym including the classes have been sparse as well this week.
-
I've been a lazy loser. Two really intense yoga classes......and too much food. Surgery tomorrow so a few more mellow weeks. Feeling kind of gross.:(
-
The exercise has been spotty for me lately, with too much else on my plate. Did go to spinning class last night, can feel the legs getting stronger. And got up and did some classical stretch this AM. Maybe a walk at lunch today.
Had a RO appt yesterday, so got some walking in from the distant parking lot
Not sure why I need to keep seeing him at this point, he said everything looked great, see you in a year. That's one thing about cancer, you sure do have a lot of doctors - and they all want to know what the other docs are doing. At first I was comforted by seeing so many specialists, but now 1 1/2 years later, I'm finding it annoying. -
Misswim - I think it's fine to indulge yourself a bit before surgery - surgery is so yukky that we need a little pampering at the prospect. Gwen - if you wanted to skip the cookies this year, by all means swipe the cancer card in good conscience!

30 minutes Pilates/flexibility this morning.
-
misswim: good luck with your surgery tomorrow!
Good evening all. I had a great walk/run today. Mild weather helped.
-
Thinking of you misswim.
Did a circuit training DVD & 15 minutes of buns....or did I eat buns for 15 minutes?

-
Waiting for the email on my new computer to update. My old one died yesterday. Was fixable, but when I took a good look at things, I decided to bite the bullet and start over. Loving my new keyboard, and larger screen. Plus weighs less.
Not that much exercise today, but will be going on foot to see "Land of the Sweets". Just so much fun, and can't wait.
Will catch up on other things later. - Claire
-
Hoop practice and a walk, little over an hour total. Finally getting some energy back.
Misswim, I hope things go well tomorrow.
-
200 cookies done will do another 200 tomorrow night, I am exhausted. Had planned on finishing up work on friday but people keep bringing me last minute stuff and now I have to work all weekend thank goodness I finished my shopping. Hope all went well misswim.
Spin class tonight.
-
Cheryl, you get the christmas cookie award.

Misswim, thinking of you and that all went well.
I'm back at the gym tomorrow. Did a little ankle twist on the step yesterday and it's ok today.
-
Cheryl alias Cookie-baking Monster, I was in that area last summer. I specifically avoided that bridge while DD and DH took an alpine climbing route with their ropes, helmets and carabiners. I had major dizziness and vertigo in the summer, which turned out to be just eye issues. But my solo hikes were still gorgeous. Yes, I'd love to accompany you to a chocolate factory. I thought I'd be getting to see one for the first time with Marybe, but she didn't make it here. Now I've got tears in my eyes. Sorry for the downer post.
Did Zumba yesterday on the Wii with DD.
-
Good luck, misswim. Sending good thoughts your way.
8-miler this morning, tired legs, I was whining.
