oh dear, yorkie.
arsenic?
jk!

I would go to a PetSmart and get some advice there.
-
No, not arsenic! I do like the bobcat. S/he and I have interacted and "know" each other. I just want to take back my territory, preferably before tomorrow! Hopefully, the Pine Sol saturated deck will result in no poopy droppings. Stay tuned...!!!
-
Maybe some of that stuff you spray that is supposed to make cats and dogs not want to pee on your bushes?
-
I don't know about that stuff. Athena is right. I need to go to Petsmart! Been checking and so far the critter hasn't shown up. But the night is early.
-
I skimmed a couple websites. If bob is pooping, he is marking his territory near a den. Only repellents I read about we're flashing lights because they shy from them, or loud, big barking dogs. Not very helpful.
For the most part it seems trapping and removal is the last resort. Especially of they are threatening livestock or pets. -
Hmm, flashing lights? Like Christmas lights you can leave up and flashing? That might work.
-
Yorkie---Is this YOUR territory the bobcat is coming into? Well, think about it, HOW does one mark their territory? Just sayin'---kad2kar

Bren,
Will be thinking of both you and Naniam/Brenda this weekend and praying that all goes well for her surgery. Will keep YOU in my heart also as you care for your dear friend. She has had so many obstacles to face and yet she faces them with such grace. We are so lucky that you have introduced such a special person to us.
I started my new chemo on Wednesday, low dose taxol which I will get three weeks in a row with one week off. He originally said two weeks off but has since changed that. Not too bad other than the SE's of the Premeds. Slept all afternoon the day of treatment because of the Benadryl and have pretty much been awake, with a few short cat naps, since 6:00 p.m. Wednesday due to the decadron. I'm awake now with severe pain in my right side and have popped a few oxycodone. Hope it starts to take effect soon because of course now, I'm tired!
Alexandria, you are writing just the kind of book I like to read. I'll be right there in line to buy your book when it is published!!
I was away for 10 days and had a lot of catching up to do on this thread. You women amaze me with your knowledge about so many topics. Loved the art classes .... And now I'm waiting to find out how to keep a bobcat from pooping on yorkiemom's deck. And where is Enjoyous? Waiting to hear her next comments about the world of Medicare! Who needs politics .... You ladies rock!!
Edited to correct autocorrect. LOL! -
E is undercover and searching for the great mysteries of Medicare. She will return late tonight or tomorrow.
Bren, my dear friend, all my love to you and Brenda. This is so hard. -
Enjoyous .... Once someone starts worrying, everyone starts. Good to hear your cheerful voice!
-
Kad, LOL! But I don't think I'll have to resort to that,
. No poop on the deck this morning. He didn't like the smell of Pine Sol I guess. I layered it on pretty good. Chick, maybe I need to spread the word about this repellent. But, I have to say it's pretty unlikely that bob has a den near our upper deck. I think he was stalking the squirrels in a pretty inhospitable place. -
Worried about Brenda this morning and sending alll my positive thoughts.
-
Sending all good wishes for SUCCESSFUL procedure to Bren & Brenda.
Notice a postings a few pages back re: Hostess. Interesting "spin." Suggest reference to LEGAL Fiduciary responsibility, and what ever the latest version of 1974 ERISA ( Employee Retirement Income Security Act) applies. Also not interested in the "facts" as posted...love good ole Tip O'Neil, "You're welcome to your own opinion, but not your own facts." Somehow don't think "educating" was purpose of the poster
Will put that poster back on Ignore, unblocked as surprised to find on this thread. Back to my play time....Hope all are well....
-
Bren, keeping you and Brenda in my thoughts and prayers.
Glenna, I hope your pain is easing.
Alexandria, you are a very talented writer!
Sunflowers....I've always loved that quote!
Wishing everyone a good Friday.

Shooting at a CT elementary school! Injuries reported. My God, if this country refuses to pass reasonable gun control laws, Kindergartners need to start wearing bullet proof vests the first day of school.
-
Any males in your family care to......ahem.....relieve themselves around the perimeter of the deck? Maybe that will be enough to annoy his nose.
-
That'll learn me to stay off the computer a couple of days. So many pages to catch up with now. I'm with you yorkie. I hate to see violent ill people with guns --- didn't get in on the news flashes so it is just an over-all opinion/idea, but responsible people do not have to be considered. It is very frustrating and Dh quit the NRA who spent most of their time contacting Dh for "donations". He was a goose about 'standing' with his brothers who for all their brains are not very smart people. Thank goodness he is over that and pretty much them.....good to see the Bobbsey twin syndrome over.
Very annoyed with Hostess. It is so easy at times to take advantage of those who HAVE to work and have to suck most of it up because they need food on the table. Though I don't believe in hell.....I think the CEO's there and some other places will get a very special KARMA lesson.
Alexandria...love your book.
Bren and Brenda....all my love, hope and prayers coming on gentle wings.
Off to work I go.....sure glad its Friday. Seems like it has been a long week. Just one week-ago today I was filled with the most delicious anticipation of sweet D and SIL............but I had to work on Saturday.....so this one that is all mine seems so long in coming.
Am thinking about you all though I haven't posted much and hoping that trips go well, bobcats, do well, and the sun rises and sets with everything in between as positive as possible.

Rant of the day: Scott what's-his-face from MA may be back in the senate, now that McSoreLoser managed to assassinate the character of Susan Rice and make way for Kerry, who would have to vacate his seat to replace Clinton. If dems can't see this trap coming, we deserve to fall into it.
-
yorkiemom, I agree, but the extremists cling to their 2nd amendment. I'm sure when the amendment was passed in 1791, the country had no idea what that "right" would evolve (or rather decline!) into. And don't even get me started on semi-automatic weapons like the one the Oregon mall shooter used.

I know three little boys who would probably think it a hoot. Just don't know how their mother would react!

-
-
I think the 2nd Amendment right should be amended. I am appalled!
-
It's horrifying and disgusting! Tiny children being shot and terrorized because anybody can pack and carry machine guns now.

-
OMG, CNN is reporting 27 dead. I hope they are wrong. So sad and senseless!!!
-
I heard that too Belinda. Also at least 10 are children.

-
17 children....I'm in tears.
-
KG to Grade 4.
-
How many children have to die before the National Rifle Associartion loses its supremacy? I am thinking about a million or so. No matter how many senseless shooting we have, nobody in politics dares to say anything. It's truly incredible.
The second amendment should be repealed. It is an out-of-date concept that has been twisted to suit the political needs of the time.
But probably a 1,000,000 children will need to die first. This won't do it.
They could start shooting infants in the neonatal units.....don't think that would do it either.
Maybe if someone shoots up an NRA convention? Nah, they will attribute it to a scheduling malfunction.
As long as we prize money more than life in this country --as long as our value system is that warped-- NOTHING will change the second amendment. It's disgusting but true. The NRA will continue to couch this as "our rights" (er.....whose rights??? Gravediggers' rights???) and "our freedom" (freedom to be put in a morgue????) or as long as they continue to characterize guns themselves as innocent victims ("people shoot people, guns don't shoot people") --and as long as people are stupid enough to believe them, nothing will change.
This is truly concerning to the health.
Would feel like crying if I thought there was a damned thing that would change. On to the next news cycle, the next shooting and the next "freedom" gun show.
It's easier for felons to obtain guns in this country than it is for black people to vote.
-
Amen, Athena. Damn, this is just so horrible.
-
CBS is reporting 18 children, 9 adults and they are still clearing the school.
Guns in the hands of murderous psychopaths kill people, and I don't want to hear any NRA horseshit from anyone. This country is awash in psychopaths with easy, unfettered access to guns thanks to the knuckledragging regressives.
Kindergartners take naps. I remember taking naps as a kindergartner.
I am devastated.
