Hi DLL, I am just north of you. A ride would be great at times
Not sure I can make it this week, but I'll send my # to you , perhaps you could give me a call?
-
I sent you my #. If you are able to join us, I'd be happy to pick you up, zappons.
-
So bummed! I will be having surgery tomorrow morning to remove the expanders due to the recurring infection and fever. I know that the most important thing is being able to get on with the chemo treatments so it is for the best. Needless to say, I guess I won't be able to join everybody tomorrow night. I hope that you have fun, and that I can join you next month/time!
-
Gosh, NBnoes. You will be in all our prayers. It's a simple surgery, right? Time to HEAL and get that chemo really going!
-
Nbnotes -- sorry to hear it. That was me this time last year. After TEs were placed in Oct, I started getting antibiotics because the skin turned pink over the left TE and cellulitis started, so PS replaced it the day before Thanksgiving, I was on IV antibiotics at home, and 3 weeks later when the infection returned (probably had not gone away), it was removed, and I had even more IV antibiotics. The prophylactic side's TE never had an infection, but had capsular contracture by the time I had DIEP. Some do go on to repeat the TEs successfully after having problems -- such as SpecialK, who visited me after the replacement episode. I had that urgency to get on with radiation. I now wish I had skipped the whole TE thing since failure rate is high, especially with radiation.
It is a fairly simple surgery getting the TE out -- and you will start to feel better. Thinking of you!
-
We will certainly miss you but your health is far more important. We'll still be around, so next time nb!
-
Hey everyone! I'm planning to make it to the get together tomorrow...this is my first time attending...can someone pm and exchange #'s ...i'm afraid i won't recognize anyone just from these pics???? Thanks!
-

-
Sorry, nbnotes
Heal well!
Hi ameron. Glad you can join us.
Is Ceviche casual enough for jeans?
-
good question...not a clue!
-
Oh, nbnotes
I am so sorry to hear about this. I am sorry I did not see it last night, but you are in my thoughts now even has you are probably starting.
Yes, DLL. Jeans are fine.
Ameron, we look forward to seeing you there.
-
nb - bummer! Several of us have walked in your shoes - sending you strength!
-
Hi All, can't wait to meet everyone tonight! Galsal sent me her phone # but said she may be late. Can someone else exchange #'s with me that will be there in case she is not? I don't want to walk around and ask everyone if the are with the breast cancer group
-
Thank you for such a great BCO get together last night. This is the first LIVE support group I've been to so next time I'll know not to eat DLL66's Mahi Mahi! It was so great being around others that are on this journey. Being able to share stories (horror or not!) and laugh through all of them is liberating. Thanks again, I look forward to seeing your post and planning our next get together. Mi casa es su casa!
-
Ameron, Firework...how lovely to meet you both! Please don't hesitate to join any future gathering.
-
Yes, nice to meet you both, firework & ameron. LOL, firework--that was the waiter's fault for telling us it was salmon.
-
What a nice place Ceviche's is! Good food and great company....Firework & ameron, it was great you see you. I'm looking forward to the next get together already.
-
Had a lovely time with the Tampa ladies - as always, and welcome to our new friends - firework and ameron!
-
we do have a great time together, talking and sharing experiences and information, etc. and of course, FOOD
-
I wish I could have joined you. Sounds like you had a very nice time! Is there a date/place for the next get together?
-
Sorry that I missed it, but thankfully the surgery did address the fever problem. I'm feeling so much better now. Hope to see everyone the next time!
-
Excellent news, nbnotes! Glad you are feeling better.
My "ornaments" procedure went well. A year ago I would not have believed that it was possible to end up with such good results despite all of my complications.
Looking forward to the next gathering.
-
So good to hear you're doing better after your surgery, nbnotes!
-
nbnotes, we all missed you, too. I am very happy to hear you are on the healing path and hope you can join us next time.
DLL66, ormaments just in time for the holidays! I am glad you are finally at a close as you had a long journey through recon world. Please update us on the picture forum.
-
FLWarrior, we have not set a time or place yet. We all got yacking about other things.
Let's start with a date: Does Saturday, January 12 work?
Roll call.....
-
That's 3.5 weeks post-op DIEP for me, but stage 2, so maybe I'll be on the upswing.
-
January 12th......that's two days into my hubby's recovery from knee surgery. I'm gonna say yes, let's try for that date!
-
I'm pretty open
-
The 12th is good for me.
-
I never did start a photo thread over @ the picture forum, but maybe I will. I am getting my stitches out tomorrow morning, so today I will be baking goodies today to bring with me. My PS & his staff have been very good to me throughout this whole process.
I should be able to join you all on the 12th as well.
