markat, toilet papered trees, the neighbors will be jealous. I will , once again, be unique. While you are up there, would you fish out my laptop? Please send the elves.
As far as looks go, I am sportin' the Casper rather well, with the lashes, hair additions and hopefully eyebrows i will get to the Grandpappy. A nice change from this summers pirate look. Gorgeous I tell ya, simply gorgeous.
Yesterday, I found a ``Big girls panties-get over it``joke on my FB wall. I wasn`t amused. So a text or two and it was all sorted out. It was insensitive at this point, and the person was not thinking. I have about 20 friends, lol, mainly family so that I can see photos of the little ones.
I am feeling a little better each day, and that is a good thing. Wishing all cave dwellers the same and more. Raining here so I will jump on the treadmill , my legs are cramped ...hate that. Happy Saturday!
-
Holy falafel, what were they thinking? Not much apparently. I have lots of big panties if you want them to slowly suffocate the person
I'll leave them hanging from the trees too.
Sorry Teka about your friend.
Jane, so true!
Fl, hope the day goes good!
-
markat--holy falafel!!???
I needed a good laugh! Thanks--I'm still chuckling.
FL--what is it with sisters? I disowned mine four years ago. (she's an atty and charged my mother $1000 to cover air fare, etc, to come see her as she was losing her battle with bc.) Crazy value system. Glad she lives far, far away. She doesn't even know about my "woes". ick, ick just thinking about her!
teka--happy birthday! late/early/whenever! I'll always wish you well. Your warm heart shines through, so "friend" should just get over the problem with purple! good grief. (No--holy falafel!) I agree about social skills. Seems like some people think that with age comes privileges of rude behavior. I just don't get it.
whaevah--I was dreading a colonoscopy not long ago... and encountered the same remark--big girl panties--I couldn't believe the insensitivity.
camille--are you ok? Good weekend?

Hello ladies:
The hermit got out of her shell today for awhile. I am going back to work on a new contract PT this week and will be thrown into the mass of people in a new cubicled environment this client has set up for this project I am taking on. So I realized I needed to start getting more socialized to being around people a bit more. I think I will be fine, but will embrace my hermitage during my non client time.
I am giving myself permission to take a break from thinking, talking too much about, over analyzing and obsessing about my medical odessey, as I have come to call it. Sometimes we all just need a break from this, don't we? I played some music with a jazz jam session this morning, then went to shop at some of my favorite small businesses for a few holiday gifts (some for them, some for me....) Holiday things felt pleasant and not overwhelming today. I also watched my neighbors putting up their outdoor lights. I was just present with the day and the season.
I hope all of you are doing well today. And if it has been a harder day, I pray for your tomorrow to be a bit better.
-
markat, I am getting so excited about my trees!!! Woohoo....Panties and TP blowing in the wind, I will be the talk of the neighborhood, might have to put up red lights this year
skittle, I remember the symphony playing when I woke from my colonoscopy...tuba and horns I think
speaking of music...good for you Jazzygirl! Yes, we all need a break from this, healing is hard work .
Looks like there are a few twisted sisters around, we can plant them under my trees if you want
teka
and camillegal, hope you are having fun, whaevah you are doing
-
whaevah--famous symphony piece.
DH, in a rare "evil" way, was hoping to tease me about it since I'm so awkward/shy about brass... but I never experienced even a warm up orchestral honk! Weird (but happy!) I'm starting to envy your trees. sounds like a decorating party is in order. I'll bring a shovel. And you know how there's a slogan/t-shirt for everything? I could instantly see a small band of hermits sporting t's with "Healing is hard work" with a hard hat as a hermit crab shell. (Maybe I overdid it yesterday and it's hitting my brain... Rearranged furniture. ache all over. but it was fun while it lasted!)
Happy Sunday, each and every.
-
Good Morning All,
Husband and I were out and about for breakfast at local firehouse. I plan to wait until the week of December 10th, then face the hassle of a X-mas tree.
-
Love the tee-shirt idea, skittle!!! I'll sport one!
-
Jazzy, sounds like a great day! I've gotten into a really bad habit of staying in my pj's all weekend. I'll put on clothes to do whatever errand or activity with the kids, then immediately change into my pjs when I get home, lol.
Whaevah, a red porch light would even be more impressive. I'm sure your neighbors would love that, and the added traffic
Skittle, love it! Wow, rearranging furiniture. My living room looks like an episode of Hoarders. The elves were excited to bring up all the boxes, but aren't as enthused about putting them away. What's that all about, lol.
Teka, sounds like a great breakfast! We never go out to eat. Too expensive with the kids. We do get a lot (too much) of take out. I cooked everyday last week though, even when I was sick (crockpot). I was pretty impressed with myself.
FL, hope today continues to get better.
Stormy, hope you are feeling good!
Where'd Omeggo go? Kltb still really miss you. You must have blossomed and graduated from hermitting.
Camille, are you off partying all weekend? Miss you!!
-
Did everyone lose their internet today
-
markat--it is quiet, isn't it?! Hoping your elves have been more helpful today. Gotta agree with them, though. It's more fun to make a mess than clean it up.
Hope the quiet is just everyone busy, having a good day. Hugs to all. (((( ))))
-
Good morning all - hope everybody had a good weekend. I hope Cami is having a good party too ... or maybe we were just boring this weekend.
Hoping to do primer in kitchen today ... all good except one radiated rib that keeps reminding me not to overdo.
Markat, I always find that in January ... everyone gets busy and stuff has to be taken down and put away.
Skittle {{HUGS}} back at you.
Off to PCP in an hour, so ANOTHER Dr. apt. Still waiting for call on pre-op apt for next week.
-
Jane, hope the doctor goes well. Great job on the kitchen!!
Hoping everyone else has a great day. I have to go shopping- in a store
FIL's birthday. He wants new socks...how exciting, lol!
-
Sometime during January through March, I plan to paint the kitchen walls.
I am taking a time out from skimming the posts on the "Active Topics" threads during the weekends. I had overwhelming-feelings-of-sadness during the 2010 and 2011 X-mas season. Okay, come New Year's Day. Maybe the thought of Spring just around the corner!
I've already received (3) 2013 garden catalogs by mail.
Time for breakfast!!!
-
OMG I hit the line for remove and I wondered where everone was and I had to searvh the active tops--Oh I missed so much, painting, eating, drinking, thinking eating (yes I know i said it twice.
Stormy I'm so sorry about u'r sister and Jazzy too. Oh I don't know what I'd do without mine. Weoth share so many wonderful memories and cirrent ones too and of couse as u know cancer the same time same stage too. So we're kind of like glue. But she does stuff ALOT and stil works full time.--I just can't imagine not talking--the day I had the scan she called 3 times I told her--u've had this, u know how long it takes--we crack up, cuz we've both had all the same tests, but I can tell she's loosing steam and I am too so we keep each other going alot.
I had so much computer crap going on I was trying to fix it and I did but mostly by accident.
We'rel planning on makeing cookes and fudge--Of course it's all non bake--I always seem to over cook things except cake??? so this u can't ruin. And Saturday the kids are having a little Christmas party after dinner and just have some goodies and desserts and of course drinks--I'm going to have Mike's har lemonaide.black cherry--Yummy 0vodka I like--I really have to catch up here I read some but I had to tell u why I wasn't on and since Teka is the real talker I never saw her name on anything.
-
bgirl...how did you find radiation? it is up next for me
Skittle..cute cartoon and gotta love a girl with a shovel
markat...have fun shopping! I am doing gift cards this year, boring but it works for me
I finally decided not to decorate, just plants. My work schedule is heavy plus the last Taxol wreaked havoc on my hands and feet..not to mention the whole body pain. I was and am surprised the last one was so harsh. So, the only relief is daily exercise or I will seize up. I hear that 3 weeks PFC things let up a little ... I sure hope so!
Anyone else experience this on the last chemo?
Have a great day all~
-
camillegal...we almost sent out a search party for you, thought you had run off with some hottie and lost your way home
-
I do a lot of private posting on "Active Topics" threads.
Maybe someday just plants and no X-mas tree.
-
Teka...what is "private posting"
-
Click on "Teka" then click on "Send member a Private Message".
-
Oh Teka u r privste--I've done some but not too much.
Oh I've been so busy--yea right Well I did go to the store today, it's actually springlike here. My DD and SIL are having a little Christmas party Sat. night so I help by iving my ideas about food---That I know all about. No such luck about the hottie--the best I could do is a cold potato. Well it is food anyway.
And radiation that was just tiring and it's funny cuz it only last maybe 10 minutes, but u wonder how that can tire u so. I used just aloe vera, but there's alot to use and my skin was all right it's still kinda black on that whole side tho--so I'm sure it fades with time??? I took an early app'tment every morning to get it over with so it doesn't interfere with all the fun u'r having besides u go every day for 31 days that alone is a pain. LOL
I'll be back--u'll see
-
Rads was not so bad. I have very fair skin (2 red-headed sisters) so I had quite a bit of skin break down last week(mostly in lymph node area) and the 10 days after where they warn you it gets worse before it gets better. Had to do boosts as well because of my age, but not too bad. Tired part way through, about 1 1/2 hrs after treatment I needed a nap. I had inflamation in my ribs, SE but not a common one that took me 6 months to improve. Also some muscle tightness that gets better over time too.
Going to finish last wall and ceiling ... determined to finish priming today.
Cami ... glad to know you still love us.
-
I didn't join a chemo thread.
However, I did join and loved a radiation thread.
I had 31 days of misery after the last radiation treatment, due to a severe radiation burn up under the breast.
-
It was a nice day here too. I found the energy to go to the water for a nice 2 mile walk. It was warm enough to wear a tee-shirt and shorts. Yay! My kinda Dec. temps. I do NOT like to be cold.
I have a second interview tomorrow. I think they are down to 4 people in round two. This is the job with no insurance until some time next spring...YIKES! Not too much other activity on the job front. I have applied to about 20 places over the past week. 3 of which I would really like to interview with. Waiting....waiting....waiting for the phone to ring!!! Worst possible month to be job shopping.
Whaevah, I have the hand / foot issues from taxotere. The first time I had an episode was a couple of weeks after my last tx. (3 FEC txs followed by 3 taxotere txs.) Some weeks it is better and some weeks I really have a lot of pain. Sorry you are in that boat too! Hopefully yours will resolve soon and for good. I have the dry eye syndrom from it too...pout.
Camille, hope rads are easy on you! Cold potato??? LOL!!! You are too funny!
((HUGS)) to all.
-
bgirl--what color will your kitchen be? I wish I had the patience to tape things off neatly. Best of luck with rads! Esp. during holidays. Schedules get crazy.
markat--what about toe socks? Surprise him!
teka--do you garden? I tried raspberry bushes, drought managed to kill them all in spite of daily watering and encouraging talks!
camille--glad you're back. We can disband the search party.
whaevah--shovel?
I can bring a tractor! or post hole digger! Country living tools here. :-)
FLwarrior--ooh--walking on the beach sounds the best, best of the day. Good wishes for a great interview. Can insurance kick in after being on the job a while?
DD2 hopes to adopt a rescue kitten for Christmas, but has to find a job first. The hunt goes on. (last job she applied for had 437 apply! eeeg.)
12 days of school 'til Christmas break. Long live days of hermitude. I look forward to being able to collapse.
-
Fl I've been long done with Rads--I just remember them
Teka u'r skin must be very sensitive, wait tho I'm confused do u still have both breasts--if u do that had to hurt more I think, cuz being all flat everything get the rads at one time.evenly.
I'm thru witheverything except all these stupid meds and SE from meds and whatever else is going on. I had 2 yrs. of stuff so I'm thru (I hope) I think that's why I went into hermitude my questions where like well u should be fine now, or I knew someone who had bc and it only took a yr and they were fine. And I'm not going to expain the BC ladder or Se's anymore so I just spend my time with close people.cuz they know my whole story..
skittle u can call in the troops BTW and if their hunky send them to me.
-
X-mas break! Happy Dance for you Skittle!!! How long are you off?
Toes socks...hehehe...there was an nice (juried) art show downtown (2 blocks away) that I walked over to this weekend. I saw more than one artist in the toe-shoes! Looked like neopreen wet-suit material on the top, not sure what the soles were out of. But definatly had toes! What is the benefits? Is it like built in yoga toes? Need to research that one.
Raspberry bushes...yummmm...what part of the country are you in? The country...nice! I may need to borrow/share your tractor and/or post hole digger!
Thanks. They currently do not have health insurance. It is their "plan" to get it by March or April. They would like to offer it. Nothing definate, yet...tis the reason for my repeated YIKES!
-
Camille if they are hunky...will you share with me?
Good that you are way done with rads.......timing must have been my lingering chemo-brain (which BTW was on the Nat'l News last week...It is REAL not a figment of our chemo-brain!)
-
My radiation treatments and severe radiation burn was over by Thanksgiving 2010. However, if I should have a recurrence, bye-bye 44DD/E girls.
I love working in (v) garden and (f) gardens. I've tame blueberries, and pick wild strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries when in season.
-
Fl, those are fancy running shoes that all the cool runners wear. They're supposedly like running barefoot with protection. Didn't know the hipsters had adopted them too.
I ended up just getting father in law a gc.
Sorry to all with rad burns and rads coming up. Hugs.
Skittle yay for holiday breaks!
