Just want to say that I used to be a "little" hooked on Shopping Channel here in Canada....loved getting little parcels come to my door, but since BC I prefer to hit the bright lights of the malls with the hustle and bustle of people.....call me crazy, but I feel

like a "normal person".....just such a much better "distraction". Happy shopping weekend to everybody❤

    Hey Scottie that's a great reason anyway--If u enjoy it do it--unless it's illegal--then don't tell anybody.

Thanks Camilegal.....became such a hermit after BC, had two meltdowns....GP put me on an anti-depressant and an anti-anxiety and every since, feel more confident to be out there in the "real world" ....the shopping world, of course....lol

Camilegal, they have saved my life along with shopping. I used to be an avid reader but

Can't seem to focus now......seem to need the bright lights and people ....I guess we all deal with this monster in our own way.

Well, since my daughter got married and moved across the country, I have mostly shopped alone. If I go with a friend it is more of a social outing and not so much serious shopping. But I am visiting her in California right now and DD AND I put in a twelve hour shopping day yesterday! Southern California has the greatest malls, all the stores that I only see in catalogue form, like J Jill and Sur La Table. And the Christmas decorations are fabulous. Really puts you in the mood to shop. And nice to be with DD.

    Going home tomorrow.

I do most of my shoping online. I love purple...now that the one child is grown, I do not feel the need to celebrate Christmas in the traditional way. So I bought a 7 ft purple Christmas tree....LOVE IT

    Dixie,

Purple seems to be everywhere this year! I just bought a purple suede jacket. Very 1970s but could not resist it... Probably reminds me of a jacket I had years ago.

Where in the world did you find a purple Christmas tree? Will you decorate it?

pj12 - Aren't SoCal malls great? When I lived in San Diego, though, it was hard for me to do my Christmas shopping when I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt and flip-flop sandals. Just not wintery enough! Laughing

doxielover - one of my girlfriends has a purple tree!!! She decorates it all in gold and jewel tones....gorgeous! Good for you!

my dining room is painted a Charleston purple from Sherwin Williams. However, you will not find pink in my house since my diagnosis.

Even though "it never rains in California" it is raining in Southern California and a little chilly. Everyone is wearing sweaters and I even saw a few women in the mall wearing (fake?) fur vests! And lots of boots and uggs. Also a lot of flip flops, shorts and a halter top or two. Anything goes!

If you want purple Christmas trees, ome to the Baltimore area. Escaping them here, bc of the ravens football team, is impossible....

Sigh- can you tell that I'm not a football fan ?! Lol

If you're an Internet shopper? I've personally never purchased from this website but perhaps if you're really wanting a purple tree, you can give them a chance?

Happy shopping....we are going later today to get our trees at the local farm... A smallish(6-7 feet) for the family room, informal one and a 10-12 foot one for the formal foyer one...I'm glad that my 13 and 15 year old kids are already over 6 feet tall so that THEY can do the lights..,teehee...the 11 year old still has a year or two before he's qualified as a light minion ...ha ha

Tomorrow is the one-year anniversary of my BMX w/ TEs.

I was originally scheduled for October 31st, but they rescheduled that to November 8th. I was relieved - I didn't want to wake up from surgery and find some clown or a witch taking my BP.

But on November 5th I got a horrible upper respiratory infection, and of course they cancelled my surgery. I was completely housebound from November 8th to December 5th, trying to stay well enough to go through the BMX.

After surgery, I was also in quarantine, since my immune system was shot. Consequently, I did ALL my Christmas shopping online. I even got DH's schmaltzy, romantic, personalized Christmas card online!

He was REALLY surprised to see so many presents under the little tree he set up....Wink
