    A few months ago i found full length mink coat. It looks old. Took it to a fur store. Confirmed it was mink and that it was in good shape.

    Gave me a quote to fix it up. Replace liner, clean it1300!, to shorten and shear it 2700. He told me that coat retailed for 7000. I paid 29for it. I wear it when i go to parties



    I have no more credit thanks to BC.

    Love this link. So far I have gone crazy with scarves. Less expensive than jewelry DD keeps on asking me why I need so many. When I drape one of the good all silk scarves around my neck I feel good and it hides my chest.

    There's another part of shopping that I think is really important.

    For months, I stayed home, either trying to stay well for surgery, recovering from surgery, or trying to stay well after surgery.

    I didn't see family or friends or go to large gatherings. Sometimes I felt like I was living in a cave.

    Shopping is an activity that we can do alone, yet feels social.

    There is something very "normal" about strolling the aisles, feeling the fabrics, trying on the really expensive shoes (even though you probably won't get them), and chatting with the sales clerks and other shoppers.

    The first time I went to a mall after my last surgery, I felt like a little kid on a field trip! I wanted to see everything!

    Even if we come home without a great bargain, it helps to get out into the "real" world for a while...someplace that is not a doctor's waiting room, or the four walls of our houses.

    Blessings, that was profound!!!

    My first stop after my BMX was to get some deoderant from Sephora in a nice mall. It was the first time i had been there. Nobody knew me. Nobody stared at my chest. I realized that I could be "normal" among strangers.

    Celine, I rarely eat sushi, but when I do, I stick to raw salmon and vegetable tempura with no sauces and a little rice. I used to eat it more often (still without sauces) but my Japanese friend said they use A LOT of sugar in making sushi .....vinegar and sugar to get the right consistency. I miss my sushi too. I miss a lot of things...for example CHEESE CAKE, but basically anything sweet.....have/had such a sweet tooth. It's amazing what your taste buds get used to....sometimes I buy a blueberry scone for a treat. It has almost no sugar in it, but still seems sweet to me now. With Xmas round the corner, I think I will have to hibernate. Not sure my will power can hold up to all the "goodies" around at that time.....lol

    I really want to go out and begin Christmas shopping for my (well....husbands too:)) 3 kids but still ugh have that 5 lbs push, pull, lift weight restriction....it's hard to behave! Sigh

    macy's has buy one get one free on boots today. DD ordered her own christmas present. So maybe I'll be surprised at what I got her. (she's 20)

    Hi everyone, I loved shopping pre-bc but do way more of it now. After the BMX I bought a pair of Charles David boots and I haven't looked back. More designer boots,wool coats etc. I told DH I can't be seen in the same clothes at every fill and checkup. He bought it! The shirts are trickier to buy right now as I'm still doing fills but I just buy what fits in the moment. I don't think I'll be getting stripper foobs so they'll probably fit after the exchange. Glad someone started this thread and glad to meet you all.

    I felt so ugly after treatment and I dressed the part - frumpy clothes, jeans all the time. Now I'm feeling a little better about things, though I'm still down half a boob. The past week I've gone on three mad online shopping sprees at modcloth.com - I LOVE their quirky cute clothes! I have to stop... this month's credit card bill is going to be painful!

    Well i have been on line today bought a beautifull rose throw!!!! where from ? Tescos it is so lovely, a fraction of the price i have seen in another store. much better quality also.

    I would love to shop for me me and oh yea me But I am always broke one income. And groceries and bills come first. Well then there is sh$t left for the week.  It just sucks because I would defiantly do some damage to that money....

    Kaza....I used to love shopping on line, but since BC I prefer to hit the malls. It makes me feel more "normal" being around people doing just everyday "normal" things.

    Scottiee........i agree it is better to actually go shopping, weather was awfull here yesterday and i had a tummy bug i caught from work.....on the mend now!!!!!!!! spent the day in my onesie and hot water bottle in tow..

    I know what you mean about doing everyday things..i couldnt wait to get to work after dx and treatment, working nights can be hard at times, do extra so i can have money for treats.

    I have always loved to shop but after my diagnosis I "paused" for a bit as I didn't want my kids to have to clean out after I am gone.  That is the first thing that came to my mind after the BS gave me the news.  Once the pathology came back, I was ready to head out shopping once again!!  My husband actually took me to a mall for some "retail therapy"!!  It did me good to go out and shop.

    I used to joke that shopping could be better than sex.  But, alas, I do not enjoy shopping right now, much.  I like to get out.  I just can't really buy much. 

    Besides, even though my husband doesn't think so, I really enjoy sex.  I have to be 'talked into it' sometimes, but never regret it!! I'm so lucky that after 17 yrs of marriage he still does it for me. And, no post shopping trip guilt when you have hubby sex!

    Hi everyone, I see some familiar names on here but most I don't know. I never saw this thread before or well it just didn't catvh my eyes.

    I'm a lousy typist even tho I did it for a good part of my life I'm not a real typist but this is bout shopping not my everending faults. OK I hate to got to store, hate, hate,it---But I'm a TV shopper HSN, QVC and on-line and mail shopping for yrs. I've been like that. But I discovered I didn't have to leave my house --whst s shock for me and I was shopping like mad than all this stuff started I had to retire so my income is limited but I still sneak in the shopping I have to. I don't remember now who said they were 65 well I'm a bit older but now accessories are a big deal to me and I love the infinity scarves, I never had recon so it's a big scarf or big jewelry, sparkly earring, big necklaces and rings and bracelets etc. I have an infinity scarf with a necklace entwined in it just for sparkle. My sister who's stage IV and I always buy each other something to detreach from our nonbreast look--well we think so. So it breaks my heart that I can't shop the way I want to, but when I do I enjoy it so much and almost anything from Sephora and Perlier so that's a short introduction of me. So with the holiday I have to check in to see who's buying what and u all deserve the best.

    camillegal - it wasn't anyone in California who won the Powerball...we don't have it here. It was someone in Missouri, and someone in Arizona. 

    HOWEVER.....on tonite's news, we found out we get it in April 2013!!!! Laughing

    Just in time. I already have plans for my winnings.....Wink

    got a couple of deliveries today---just a couple of house and outside Christma Decorations we are officially done decorating--See delivery is easy.

    I love Christmas deliveries, cuz I forget what I ordered and then it's like a surprize to me. LOL

    camillegal - your post made me think of several news stories I've seen on TV lately.

    Apparently, thieves now follow USPS, UPS, and FedEx trucks around as they make their deliveries. They park several houses down and wait as the driver gets out and takes things up to the recipient's house.

    As soon as the package is set down on the front porch and the truck drives away, the thief runs up and steals the package and runs back to his or her car and off they go with your stuff!!! Surprised

    Be careful, shoppers!!!!
