Birth year in our signature lines??

grannydukes, where did you put the age of dx?  I don't see it.

Also, I think it would be cool to have a separate spot to put the year.  I noticed when I put the year under my name, it showed up on all posts of mine, past and present.  If someone just adds it to their sig.  It only shows from that moment forward.

sara, I like where you put your birth year!  It makes things so clear to know we are about the same age ;-).

grannydukes, ohhhhh, now I get it.  You put it in your post :-).  Well, I was always thinking that when I read someone's post about anything... sometimes it would be nice to know how old they are (without asking) since age plays such a big role in various treatment choices and even dx'ed situations.  It's like some of my posts these days are about a few aches and pains that would be very typical of someone in their late 60s, but not in their late 40's.

I put my birth year in my avatar area.  I like that it now shows up on all the posts I've ever wrote.  The signature line only will show the change that the day you do it and forward.  Come on mods... let's try to make the addition :-)

michelle, I love the age at BC diagnosis that you added.  MODS... still waiting for that line to be added or birth year.  Wow, wouldn't that clear up a ton of questions when people are posting?  I was recently reading about someone and it turns out she was close to 70.  My choices were going to be WAY different then her choices.  If we didn't know how old the other one was our suggestions to each other would have been completely different.

It would certainly help if it was an option along with type, size, stage, etc.  People don't think about their age when they first come to this sight.  We just fill out the information and it shows up in our sig. lines.  It's only later that we realize this piece of information is just as important as how many positive nodes were found.  I tried to put in my birth year under birthday in my profile and it won't allow just a year.  It wants the month and day too or it won't show that information.  Many people don't want their month and day to be displayed, but have no objection to just the year.

Also, I doubt that most ladies are going to go back later to modify their information, but if it's on there to begin with it is an option and then done from the start.  Also, if someone wants to remove it later, they can do that.

It's now the end of May and I still can't put just my birth year into my profile and have it show for others.  Someone in another thread just asked a very good question and ONCE AGAIN, I had to say if you are young blah blah blah.  If you are older, blah blah blah.  I even tried to look up her age first and there was tons of info on her profile, but no birth date.  Mods????
