As far as voting.....i think there were lots of Repugs who voted for Pres. Obama.  I mean the smarter Repugs could see the writing on the wall and did not need the assessments of the "odd" entertainment radio and tv hosts.  Probably spent lots of time wishing those guys would just shut up and quit making them ALL look so bad.

On the other hand.....I did know some people that just didn't bother to vote that part of the ticket.  While I wan't really happy with that......if my guy didn't get a vote the other totally out of touch, and often totally unrealistic one didn't either.  The one whose ship is now leaving without him.  He seems to have the gift of being able to alienate even his "own" group as well as over 47 per cent of the other.  What a dipazoid.  Interesting to see just who he pisses off next.

Just turned up in my mail-box:

(CNN) - The Tennessee Democratic Party has released divorce transcripts of a Republican Congressman detailing how he and his wife agreed on her getting two abortions.

Anti-abortion GOP Congressman Scott DesJarlais won re-election on November 6th by a comfortable margin.

Court documents from 2001 also revealed he admitted to having sexual affairs with some patients and colleagues when he was practicing medicine.

The transcripts also showed he prescribed pain medication to one of those patients.
DesJarlais has a history of votes on Capitol Hill that would restrict a woman's right to choose an abortion.

ln the testimony, DesJarlais said his wife's first abortion came because she was taking a drug that could have caused pregnancy complications.

He attributed the second abortion to them having marital problems.

Tennessee Democrats had hoped to release the divorce transcripts before Election Day.

Voters first elected him in 2010 with the help of Tea Party support.

DesJarlais has not commented on the release of the transcripts.

Some of DesJarais's troubles were well publicized before the election, though, and he still won.  I read it months ago...thought it was concerning asking one Mistress to get an abortion.

Thanks E!  The Vaulter.  Now I remember.  I guess she is known for that expression - wonderful.

I LOVE that pic of President Obama ( also love writing those words)

Kam - the jumpy are the emoticons that dance & move around

The girl is the olympic athlete who won a silver for something, and the look she had on the Medal Stand was instantly tweeted and became a "meme" - and here is OUR PRESIDENT joining in the fun.  Article on HuffPo about it with the pic.

    More hugs for Virgil....

Well DH caled the guy and he couldn't come over today, so he called another guy named Dan. It seems he and DH worked together so they are having a great time in the basement and there may be some furnace repair going on.

Another word with different meanings in diferen places came to mind because I am making them for my granddaughters. We call sleeveless dresses that you wear a blouse under jumpers. I know that in England thay call some of what we call sweaters jumpers. So what are the sleeveless dresses called?

Sleeveless dresses??  Summer dresses?  I don't actually remember seeing any when we lived there, because summer lasted for a scant 3 weeks in May.....But that was many years ago.  I know their summers have heated up since then.  Global warming, anyone?

Rosemary, fingers crossed that basement activity brings the sweet whooshy sound of heat wafting out of the vents!

Getting concerned about not hearing from Blue with a Virgil update......

POTUS Obama off to Myanmar (AKA Burma) today. After that, on to Thailand and Cambodia.  Talks of economics and shifting political futures.  Imagine, a POTUS that goes around the world to do diplomacy rather than only visiting troops fighting wars on our behalf.  I actually read someone even chastizing this trip!

Once, little Bush visited my neck-of-the woods to looks at a natural disastor. Had to make a guide map for the guy, even.  He couldn't even take the time to follow the full itinery, or mix with the people, as he had to scurry on to a fundraising dinner in Southern California.  I wonder, would they chastize that?

Rosemary - a sleeveless dress you wear a blouse under is a pinafore

Another big storm last night. Steve thought the storm filled up the pool - wrong - the stupid man left the hose from our water tank running into the pool all night - lucky it's only a trickle but I've lost lots of valuable water.

Kam, DesJarais also had an issue with pressuring a mistress to get an abortion.  Apparently Republican mistresses and wives only have abortions for really good reasons but the rest of us shouldn't be allowed to make a choice.

Athena, you mentioned Churchill quotes.  I'm more of a fan of F.D.R. quotes. Smile

"A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs who, however, has never learned how to walk forward."

"Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough."

"If I went to work in a factory the first thing I'd do is join a union."

"Whoever seeks to set one religion against another seeks to destroy all religion."

"The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little."

"We have always known that heedless self-interest was bad morals; we know now that it is bad economics."

"We must remember that any oppression, any injustice, any hatred, is a wedge designed to attack our civilization."

    Thanks suzie

A pinafore here is more like an apron, with an open back. I have made those too. I have 2 almost made and two to go. I am trying to do stylish ones with appliques and embroidery. I am really good at copying other people's ideas. I will post pictures, if I can figure out how, when I have them hemmed.

Woo hooo...We have heat. It had not even been a year since our furnace was serviced and a sensor was out.

I did not make the brownies but I have about two gallons of chicken stock and I will make chicken pot pie for dinner tomorow when my daughter and kids are here for dinner. I want to put puff pastry on top to make it a little fancier but need to pick some up after church tomorrow.

Aaaah, Belinda! One of my all-time favorite movies, and not just because Robert Redford was (is!) breathtakingly gorgeous. Thank you -- now I'm in the mood, too!

Continual thunderstorms and rain here since yesterday - the tank will have filled up again.

OMG I vaccd all of the floors upstairs, then thought I'd wash the kitchen and bathroom - then I thought I should wash the polished floors - looks fabulous - it's not something I do often I must confess. I used metho in hot water and they SHINE!!!! Also got the spare room tidied up ready for ChrissyB coming to stay in early December.

Downstairs next weekend - can't do it all in one day, the house is too big.

I haven't had my shower yet and it's after 11. Steve came home from golf early - they got washed out. They were stupid to go in the first place as there are many lightning strikes going on.

    That was a great movie.

Belinda....loved the cartoon.  I heard several times today how much of the tea party is on its way out.  About as bad as Robme who is yeterdays old potato peels -- definitely  a contribution to the nearest landfill.  Can't happen too soon.

Some of the Repugs will try to get in line---they know what cooked goose smells like.  Not sure how much good it will do them, but just in case, they should be trying.

This is how I will forever remember my baby boy.  Thank you so much everyone, but it was not meant to be.  The X-Rays showed his airway was totally collapsed.  Everytime they tried to take him out of the oxygen chamber, he would struggle to breathe. We tried to take him to the surgical hospital but it was not possible.  Love you all.  My heart is broken and Ray is inconsolable.

2nd diagnosis October 2010 - IDC 5.8mm node negative - missed on mammogram in October 2009

Suzie - I was just looking at your signature above.  When you say missed on mammogram, are you saying your IDC 5.8mm tumor was associated with your ILC in October 2009?  Can IDC and ILC be part of the same primary?  I was also curious as 5.8 mm is so small.....I don't think they can detect anything less than 4mm and it could have grown many mm in that year?

Blue.....I'm so very sorry.  I'll be hugging my guys a bit harder tonight.  As I have studied spirituality now for many years....I've come to believe that those without guile ( our furry friends ) go where we go.....they just usually go a lot sooner.  So, I wish it said more but I found something to share with you.

I explained it to St. Peter,
    I'd rather stay here
    Outside the pearly gate.
    I won't be a nuisance,
I won't even bark, I'll be very patient and wait,
I'll be here, chewing on a celestial bone,
No matter how long you may be.
I'd miss you so much, if I went in alone.
It wouldn't be heaven for me.
