Kaza......I wish I was 20 yrs younger, I also would be shopping for cute undy sets,
but at my age, comfort is the name of the game.
Are you planning on retail therapy this weekend??? -
Hi Scottiee1, i do like pretty undies, but i have found a wonderfull bra...called the genie bra ... no hooks no slips so comfy dosnt rub scars, comes with pads that slip in easily into small opening on side of bra wonderfull, perhaps i am now entering the comfort zone.... not shopping this w/end i work i social care ..nights so working tonight and tomorrow, i will make up for it Tuesday going xmas shopping... housework today making stew and dumplings for tea...xxxx
-
Kaza, I also wear the Genie bra and the Aah bra.....love them...as you say, no more hooks.....my girlfriend bought me a whole bunch after my surgery and I've never looked back.....does sound that you might be joining the comfort zone, but it's not so bad.
I've always been into "comfort first" ....my mother and I would go into town together shopping and she would be wearing the 4" heels and there would be me with my Birkenstocks.....she could never figure me out. When she got arthritis in her feet, she was more upset about having to lose the heels than her arthritis........lol -
How funny is that...they are wonderfull so comfy. love the story about your mum, going to start the chores now... carnt put it off any longer...still a good day to do it weather not good here in England dull and rainy...x
-
Kaza.....didn't realize you are in England ....I'm fromGlasgow....came to Canada in 1970....Toronto was a village at the time re shopping but now the skies the limit....have fun with your chores....lol
-
I can't figure out how to post a picture here from my iPad so I just made my retail therapy heels my avatar. Lol!
And I must confess....I DID still get them from the clearance section cuz I haven't lost it THAT much. Although I do now own 3 Vera Bradley bags (also on sale) because I realized life is just too short to always carry a black leather purse. -
I forgot to add this to favs.
Got knock off tiffany key chain 10$ for myself, didnt see any other tiffany jewelry i wanted. Been going to her sale for years.
Got vitamixer last spring absolutely love it. Use it daily -
Dulcigirl.....love the shoes.....oh to be 20 years younger and not a whopping size 10....
Afraid I have to stick to my Birkis......lol -
Yay! Women after my shopping heart!
glad to know others are 'ill behaved' too! I was dx with dcis in 10/12, umx on 10/29/12. I just bought myself jimmy choo's Raina purse...sadly, it has an expected ship date of 12/15/12, so I ave to be patient
so in the meantime, I'm perusing books, magazines and the web for fabulous playboy grotto like swimming pools to have built in my backyard! Heck a girl an dream eh? Lol
-
Well, Scottie....want to try them? They're 9 1/2's and I'll be 47 in 2 months. Lol.
Better late than never!!!
I have absolutely NO idea where I'll wear them or what I could possibly wear them with!! It is the most un-me purchase ever. I'm a Nike/swap meet kind of girl. Lol. -
Dulcigirl....love your attitude even more now......If I were living near you I would be harassing you daily to get them on and just strut your stuff.....Xmas and NY ......coming up.....I expect to hear from you then that those shoes went a walkin....💃👠👠👠👠👠
-
Dulcigirl- nothing like a red pair of pumps!
On a recent Retail Therapy ... I gots these 5" pumps! They were calling out to me ... BASIC ... BLACK ... goes with ANYTHING ... like a black pair of skinny jeans (got that too).
Currently ... wearing them while doing some exercise. WHY NOT! I might exercise them into all my DR appointments.

-
I bought purple garland for my tree!!
starting to get xmas stuff ready early...
and i agree... the act of shopping is very soothing...
but
the aquisition of a good deal... is a rush!!
lol keep sopping ladies!
-
9911.... LOVE those!!!!
How did you post the pic? I searched for a "how to" and all of them mentioned a tree icon. I don't see ANY icons, but I'm beginning to think I should go look on the desktop. Maybe it's another iPad limitation.
I am now looking for the perfect pair of black riding-type boots to wear to work with my jeans skirt.
Wednesday is a fill day for me. How's THAT for something to be thankful for? Lol. Wonder what my inlaws would think if I announced THAT when they go around the table? "I'm thankful for another 70 cc's!!!" Ha!! -
Dulcigirl.....you can't do it through your IPad....you have to go to your desktop. There is a thread here that gives you step by step instructions.....hope that helps.

Thanks!

Ladies - standing in the dressing room at Nordstrom, actually fitting into the size 8 jeans the styist brought in, almost made me cry.
When you're a size 16-18, you don't spend good money on clothes....
Since losing 60 pounds, my mind hasn't wrapped itself around the fact that I can actually fit into regular-sized clothing....and now I realize that everything in my closet just hangs on me.
I can't remember the last time I bought clothes. I didn't think 1) it was worth it, and 2) I deserved it, being so heavy.
But standing in front of that mirror, something happened.....I was SOOOO happy!!!! I worked really hard at my diet and exercise, and for the first time, I think I really saw the results.
So yeah, I bought one pair of insanely expensive jeans, but the other four pair were on sale. To me, that justified everything.....

Blessings! Yay! I'm looking forward to that day. I've gone from a 22 to an 18 and even that feels good, but I'm looking forward to moving from the + section down to a 10 or 12. (I don't aspire to anything in the single digits, haven't been there since my age was in the single digits.

What a great thread! Thanks for starting it kaza - I just loved to shop!! After my diagnosis, I took a break from retail therapy and my husband treated me to some beautiful pearls to cheer me up. I too, previously, would not treat myself and found that I would only buy something if it was reduced in price. Recently, I found myself shopping and planning my next purchase in a designer name bag. This is something I would not have done before.
-
Scottiee1 love to see all shoes, i guess my 6inch heels when i get them will be just lovely to look at......will take a lot of practice to get the balance right. I went to Scotland in March 2010 for 2weeks travelled round in camper didnt visit Glasgow went round it on the M8 i think i have got that right....... remember it so well didnt wash my hair for 2weeks when we did find a site with showers i went in laddled with shampoo the works...all i could get was a trickle of water how bad is that.....x
-
mamglam....i love pearls ....yes a bag that would be great.. i just recently bought a kipling bag i have wanted one for so long.. just love it...
-
I really want a set of nice pearls. Told my hubby numerous times. I guess I will just have to find them for him...
-
Blessings.....love your story and congrats on your hard work......I take a siz 6 now due to
The summer from hell.....vomiting,no appetite, nausea.....lost a huge amount of weight...
on meds now and eating well. I used to be a size 12 and still gravitate to that size when I go shopping ....still can't get my head around it, but I love that I can wear any style now.
Not the best way to,lose weight and wouldn't recommend it.
To everyone working hard on losing....keep up the good work and the go treat yourself💃💃💃💃💃
Kaza....don't think you want to see all my Birkis, cute as they are, still, pretty boring compared to you gals.....keep those 6 inch heels coming and strut them whenever you can.👠👠👠👠👠 -
Kaza, I have a history on pearls.. . I keep losing them!! I recently cleaned out my jewellery and noticed how many single pearl earrings (of different sizes) I have collected over the years!! Recently, while attending a family wedding, I left my gorgeous pearls at the hotel we were staying in and of course, the hotel never did find them! So, after being diagnosed with BC, I was surprised by my husband with a beautiful string. I treasure these and hope that I won't lose these. Please wish me luck...
-
mamglam......i am sorry you lost your pearls at the hotel. Your new pearls are very special pearls keep them safe. xx
-
What fun thread. We're vicariously enjoying all of your retail therapy adventures!

Hoping for the safety of mamglam's pearls. :-)
Merlcat - how about a picture of the Jimmy Choo Raina purse?
Recent retail therapy for me was this very simple Kate Spade purse - I love her designs:

I totally belong in this group! I have always been a shopper - love a bargain - when I can combine the two I am a happy camper! I could not drive from first week of Nov'10 to Feb'11 due to five surgeries and restrictions from my PS - thought I would lose my mind! When I started chemo I had SEs that kept me in the house for the first 10 days, but the next 10 days until the next chemo I was out and about shopping. I did get a beautiful ring (on sale!) as an end of chemo gift - it is beautiful and very special to me. DH bought me matching earrings (on sale!) for my b-day last month.
