I was delighted when Jonathan won immunity - gotta say!

I was squealing when he dived across the line to make it to the finals. That was a must-win and he did it!

@riley702 .. the only one who had recognized Jeff Kent as a baseball player was Dawson, and she was voted out a while ago

This season is so much better now that they have refocused on the interaction between the players.

DC, I just figured someone else recognized him, but wasn't telling. But I guess you're right, they would have shown it, like they showed Penner and Skupin recognizing Lisa, but keeping her secret.

Penner stays another day! I thought he did a GREAT job talking to Lisa, so I was surprised that it was Skupin who flipped his vote, not Lisa. I thought sure Abi screwed the pooch with her hostility, esp. during TC. Abi = not normal. Penner = normal (ask the kids in the reward village! LOL'd at that)

I hope Lisa wakes up soon.  She is not being 'nice' or 'loyal', she is being played.

I don't think she is being played.  I think she is well aware of the games of her team mates.  She just wants to play the game while looking like a "good girl".  I also think that she knows that if she makes it to the final three, she could win because others see her as being so nice without being a passive player.  It's Penner who should watch out for her.  Since he isn't in her alliance, she will throw him under the bus just like she threw Malcom under the bus by disclosing he had the idol after promising him that she would keep his secret. She isn't as dumb as she acts.

But, what do I know?  I'm always wrong about this game.

I do think she is naive.  And she just can't keep a secret.  It is like she just has to tell someone every thought that she has.

There is no right or wrong in this game.  That is why I love it.  Nothing as interesting as human nature.Tongue Out

Sometimes I think Jeff gets a little too involved at tribal council.  What do you guys think?

Yes. Sometimes he gives too much info or asks the questions to unearth info.

I liked the new challenge turning over the big disks, thought it was clever.  I also don't know how Jonathan's decision about waiting to decide things will play out.

I didn't like Jeff giving Abi excuses at TC. No, it isn't cultural differences, Jeff. All Brazilians aren't nasty, lazy, bullying, nor do they verbally attack everyone around them at any opportunity. It's just Abi. When Denise tried nicely to tell her what the problem was, she wouldn't let her finish a sentence and then verbally attacked HER. Cannot wait until this bitch gets booted.

I think Penner was wrong to rebuff an offer of an alliance. That may come back to bite him in the ass.

Carter may be brain-dead, but he can win ICs. They need to toss him as soon as humanly possible.

I'm thinking Pete should have regretted causing trouble in his alliance (Abi and RC). Maybe things would have held together a little longer and he could have made inroads with others and lasted longer if he had just resisted the urge to throw the cat among the pigeons, metaphorically.

And 2 of those 5 people shouldn't be there, IMO (that would be Abi and Skupin - her for being a worthless, horrible human being, and him for doing basically nothing except have an alliance with Lisa. And not having bled to death by now. Innocent)

Although everyone thinks Lisa is this sweet woman, I don't believe her.  She rifled through Malcolm's clothes on the premise that she was going to wash them, and as I predicted she stabbed Penner in the back. She can play this game just like anyone else.

Abi may be a pain, but I have never seen any contestant torn apart like Denise did to Abi.  In spite of being on the outside (hated by some) Abi is still around.  She has played a great game with little going for her but brass b*lls.

This is definitely an interesting Survivor, the first in many seasons.

Torn apart? Definitely different strokes here. I thought Denise was tactfully trying to tell Abi WHY she was on the outs after Abi said she wanted to know. She then cut off Denise FOUR times, wouldn't let her finish a sentence and became even more verbally abusive. Sorry, but I have ZERO sympathy for that bitch Abi. She treated people horribly when she and her group were controlling the tribe, but when they fell from power, she started this "Oh, poor me" shtick. The ONLY reason she's still around is as a goat for final tribal; everyone wants to be sitting next to her as she will get few, if any, votes.

I have to agree that Lisa is NOT some sweet thing. Her complaints about how this game is just too hard for sweet little ole me doesn't jibe with her actions (rifling through Malcolm's things, swearing to an alliance with him that she promptly broke, trying to throw him under the bus). It failed that time, but per the previews, she's going to try again, using Abi as a vote. If she's successful, Denise had better win the next IC or she's toast, too.

I'm of the opinion that she's playing two games here: one for a million bucks and one to jump-start a new career post-Survivor. And that second game is why we're getting all these talking heads from her about how she's so torn and conflicted, because she's just that honest and nice, dang it. With her childhood earnings gone and a fresh divorce under her belt, she's going to need to scrounge up a new gig. I predict a "heart-warming" book titled something along the lines of "Surviving Survivor", followed by more speaking gigs to Christian groups, followed by a stab at acting again. But that's just my cynical opinion.

Edited because tenses should agree and parentheses should be closed.

Lisa will appear on Dancing with the Stars like every other "B" list actor.  Then she will start on the lecture circuit.  I agree that a book will definitely appear as well.

Remember that Survivor makes villains by careful editing.  Abi is no saint but she is no worse than the other villains of the past.  If it is Skupin and Abi, Skupin will win because he hasn't been in anyone's face.  I think it's possible (not probable) that Abi might against Lisa if for no other reason than Abi made it to the end without an alliance. But, as I said, I wouldn't last a day in this game.

Two tribes against each other or men against women?  Denise has a real chance but will she last?

I am still liking Denise to win. I know the editing makes Abbi look bad, but I think the reactions of most of her tribe suggests that she is pretty much like the person we are seeing on tv.  Scuppin just doesn't deserve to win.  Malcolm deserves to win...but...I always have trouble with the good looking, buff and athletic guys winning.  I just feel that their good genes give them a big head start.

    pip,

You make a valid point about being tall, good looking and male as a big, big advantage in our culture and for that matter most cultures. It's always good to see a woman win Survivor.

Ha ha! It would surprise me if all of Skupin's clumsiness, self-injuring, etc. was all part of a clever plan to win. Still, there seems to be bad blood between Skupin and Artis, RC, etc. based on the after-interviews and Ponderosa vids. I'd be surprised if he could win. I think it's down to Lisa and Denise unless Malcolm wins the next IC. If he doesn't win, I think he's toast.
