The Canadian government announced today that they planned to open up to immigrants from the United States. All those who wish to leave the United States after the 2012 election will be able to find a new home in Canada, with all the benefits of Canadian Citizenship. There's only one requirement: All immigrants under this new plan must settle in Nunavut, a Canadian province with plenty of open spaces and very few people. Each immigrant will be given 40 acres of well-situated land, near open water, a used snowmobile, and a sled to pull behind it. With global climate change well underway, new immigrants should find improving winter weather in Nunavut soon. Additional details and applications for immigration can be found at:

Hey Rightwingers...you can take this story with you on the way to Nunavut (LOL).....Patreaous went to Tripoli, Libya a week and a half ago and conducted his own personal inquiry...interviewed the quick reaction force, the base chief, the station chief, etc., and he knew/knows the whole story. His testimony, per Bob Woodward, would have backed up the White House.
Now you suggest that Patreaous was snooped on, outed, and told to retire so he wouldn't testify?
Stop getting your news from Fox RW Entertainment and you'll be more in touch with the facts. btw, the affair started 2 months after Patreaous took over the CIA...not 4 years ago.
Gotta take a shower now.

How interesting that after all that has gone on with this so recently passed election that people are still hanging on to every word from that idiot news source. I keep hoping they will care about themselves enough to "get it". So many people are wising up about politics and what is good, bad and ugly about it, but those who watch the farce news are stuck in the strange time warp without a prayer. That unfortunately seems to be right where the news source wants them. No need to repeat....building on fantasy (lies ) costs an awful lot.....sometimes it costs a Presidency.

But, but, but, the righties would have to accept, GASP, national health care! NOOOOOOOO!!!

I have a question. If all the people with the big bucks say raising their taxes will create job losses, why didnt they CREATE jobs before, with lower taxes? Not an intelligently asked question, but I wonder----kad2kar
-
Because...OBAMA.
-
OK, Linndasa, what are those little squiggy markings under the names on the map? Arabic, I tell you! Canada is a leftwingMuslimSocalistFreeHealthCareFreeAbortionatwillGayMarriage Atheistic haven!!!!
-
kad2kar - they didn't create jobs because there was NO DEMAND for whatever they were supplying. This is the fallacy of "trickle-down." It assumes jobs are created in a vacuum and is only a function of the job creators having money in their pockets. How silly is that? If a rich guy had a market and needed workers to meet market demands, he or she is going to hire workers. Likewise, he/she is not going to hire workers to make a product that no one buys.
Under the higher Clinton tax rates, no problems creating jobs because demand was high.

Thank You ----Enjoyful and Kam, it is what I thought, just wanted confirmation.----kad2kar

Cheryl - I believe those marks underneath the English names are actually the Inuit translation. Oh my, I guess all those wannabe immigrants are going to have to learn 2 new languages -- French and Inuit! I expect they'll all choose Australia instead. Our polar bears are safe!

'Morning everyone - The Petraeus/Allen "scandal" is a true soap opera.
I still want to know where the crime is.
If all of the WWII generals were held to these standards, the US would have no heroes.
If there is a crime, then I want to see it. Otherwise, this overuse of the "national security" mantra with no evidence has got to stop. I neer had much respect for the CIA - half of its directors have left in disgrace for real violations and as an intelligence agency it is more of an embarrassment that anything else to the US. This is not a real violation until we hear otherwise. What a distraction for the country right now. We have important things to focus on, like the economy, which really DOES hurt national security.
America needs to grow up and stop letting social issues hijack the national agenda.
Yey for a proper cold day today!
Athena, of the unpopular views. :-)

Some people are having real trouble accepting the US election results:
-
WOW Lassie. That's so wrong on so many levels.
In a separate category, though just as wrong - someone started a petition on whitehouse.gov to strip secessionists' citizenship and exile them. If we could exile them to Texas and then put up a wall, I'd be all for it. Maybe I should start a petition for THAT.
Athena - I agree with you re the absence of a crime so far BUT I agree with the investigation. -
I pretty much agree Athena. Unless there was a security breach, which at least in the case of Petraeus, there does not seem to be, exactly WHY are we investigating this? Also, seems to have were some weird political shenanigans going on. Cantor (R) knew about the investigation in October, but Obama found out the day after the election? WTH? Maybe if Romney had won this would have been totally swept under the rug.
Can't wait for the movie!

-
Are we sure there hasn't been a security breach? If not, I'd say there's a need for the investigation.
-
E, my understanding is that there was none regarding Petraeus-Broadwall. It's still uncertain about the other general and the woman in Tampa, who reported Broadwall. Can't keep all these names straight!
-
I'm shaking my head yes with Athena and all these investigations. Now with another general involved. Enough is enough. Also read the piece about those wishing to succeed. Also with the supposed fraud in Ohio which many want to lay at the feet of Dems. Really....why???? It was a whole lot of hard work, but no one NEEDED to commit fraud to win. It sounds like there are a number of Repugs trying to grasp the changes they are going to have to make if they wish to get close to being viable. West and others need to stand down and let those with mentality try to do something positive.
Oh welll, just some of my ramblings --- but it and entertainment news is just as tiresone as ever. Un-reality can be a harsh master.

Well then, what's the big deal other than Enquirer-style gossip?
-
Hey lots of us Texans don't want them either. Maybe the US owns a uninhabited barrier island they could dump them on.
-
Changing the subject slightly....this cartogram does a better job at depciting Obamas's electoral vote victory. Instead of seeing vast amounts of red for sparsely populated areas, one square is the equivalent to one electoral vote (i.e. actual population):

Good morning,
Blue - LOVE LOVE LOVE the post about Michael J. Fox. After he spoke about his PD, can't remember the interviewer, it was on TV, she sort of gave him a question leading to an "I'm a victim" answer - and he turned it around - beautifully, and said something positive, paraphrased, that he felt like God had him in His pocket. I still remember his smile, and COURAGE, COURAGE, COURAGE. What a wonderful human being.
Ok. I've bookmarked Crooks&Liars. I suggest that all these guys be set up with a date with Lorenna Bobbitt. As for the women, well, let the fame, notoriety (sp?) they all seek come to them, and maybe, just maybe, we can do something about a culture that seems to be increasingly like "reality TV" which I've never watched, so I don't really know what I'm talking about - except I am SICK of it all. What happened to privacy, discretion, & I don't blame Oprah, she was just one of the first to profit from it. Bleah....
-
Oops...sorry, Chickadee! :-D

KAM THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I really appreciate that graphic - like the first time we saw a map of the world in it's REAL perspective -
