I'll take some rum punch, Kool Aid has a bad rep!
-
Yep, cake always goes down better with Kool-Aid!
-
I'll have the cake but not the kool aid. I'll be generous and send the kool aid over to the other side.
-
Athena - the comparison to Wall Street rings true. We always talk about "smart money," but so many of "them" did not do well this year.
You know, it just occured to me, as the head of a super-PAC, Rove was not allowed to confer with the candidate. This is from the NY Times:
It was 11:13 p.m. on Tuesday, the moment that Fox News had called Ohio for President Obama. Karl Rove stood just off camera, his phone glued to his ear. On the other end was a senior Romney campaign official who insisted that the network had blown the call.
How does this meet the standard of the FEC rules?
-
OMG
"Thanks to Warren and her "consumer protection" and Dodd Frank, I now pay a 4.95 maintenance fee on my small business checking account and a 1.95 fee every time I write a check."
Give me some of that kool-aid....I get free checking!

-
So do I - must be thanks to Josef Stalin! :-) Pass the Kool aid.
-
My whole account at my bank is free....long as I supply the money.....I think that calls for a double KoolAid
Jackie
-
My friend baptized Josef Stalin into mormon heaven (really) - give him some koolaid!
edited: btw, they'd call that a "free pass"
-
Gotta drink up! We're missing something girls! I have free checking too!!!

-
Hey does free air count?
-
Wait a minute, why would you bank where there is not free checking?
-
Wow, I have free checking, too. Not only that, I know of at least 4 banks around here where I can get free checking! I think soooomebody isn't paying attention! Or they are telling a Republican truth. Why do you suppose they are upset about it, anyway? I thought they LIKED giving money to ripoff banks?
L -
My credit union pays me interest. If you stick with a big bank that charges you maybe that says something about your intelligence or general financial knowledge at least.
-
Free checking here. But hey, it's free market rules. The banks get to charge whatever. Isn't that what the other side wants.
Oh heck, send over the kool aid.
-
Who the heck still writes checks?
-
Chick -- You beat me to it!
-
Free checking here and I only have 68.00 in my account
-
Now we're quoting from speeches from the beginning of the 20th century - not only delusional but truly regressive!
-
It's all they've got, besides Limpballs and Insanity. Pathetic.
-
I must not unblock, I must not unblock......
Mary
-
Oh, you gotta unblock for this. I just had to go look up who this Reverand William John Henry Boetcker was that's getting quoted saying this:
- You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
- You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
- blah blah blah
This guy also wrote this:
- I don’t think.
- I don’t know.
- I don’t care.
- I am too busy.
- I leave well enough alone.
- I have no time to read and find out.
- I am not interested.
- More Koolaid please!
-
I'll give this reverend credit. The last list are items he entitled "The Seven National Crimes"
I don’t think.
I don’t know.
I don’t care.
I am too busy.
I leave well enough alone.
I have no time to read and find out.
I am not interested.
Someone should look in their mirror. -
Speaking of crimes....I guess I'm not the only one suspicious of Rove's behavior on Election night.
http://markcrispinmiller.com/2012/11/score-one-at-last-for-the-election-integrity-movement/
Also, Ohio was just about the only state where exit polls didn't match pre-voting polls....7% > 3%. Could it be they just couldn't steal another 3%? I tell you, this across the board confidence of a Romney landslide in the face of real data saying otherwise, is hitting my radar in a big way.
Chickadee - Sometimes litte things give me big laughs...."who writes checks anyway?"

-
I just got this from our local Democratic Party committee.....my new Republican Congressman, and others, have taken this pledge:
Doug LaMalfa signed Obamacare Repeal Pledge. 6 March 2012. "I pledge, if elected, to vote for all bills which seek to REPEAL the health care bill, HR 3590, signed into law on March 23, 2010. To that end, I would now and will in the next Congress endorse and vote for all measures, including discharge petitions, leading to its defunding, deauthorization, and repeal. I shall do so whether those measures are taken for the whole of the bill or those component parts that impose mandates, restrict patient and doctor choice and access, violate individual freedom and privacy, reduce healthy competition, increase costs, or raise taxes." (www.therepealpledge.com)

On the other side, I read a comment about the sad plight of a young woman who didn't have insurance because she could only get a temp job and had just turned 27 so could no longer be on her parents' insurance. This sad state of affairs was blamed, of course, on Obama. No recognition of the simple fact that the only reason she could even be on her parents' insurance until the age of 26 was Obamacare - that the whole point of reform is to not have situations where people are uninsured. But ... never mind.
Pass the kool aid.
-
When congress members sign such an appeal should they also add "and I pledge not to think for myself or my constituents. Ever."
-
You don't suppose that one of the reasons she can't find a good job is the off shoring of jobs that the "job creators" have been so enamored of for decades. Then again maybe she just didn't pull on those damn bootstraps hard enough.
-
Awww Chick -- As an admitted shoe-aholic, I don't believe I've ever encountered boots with straps. I think maybe they died out about a century or two ago.....
-
Athena - sorry about the story of that kitty - I hope she does release him into the wild.
Don't talk to me about off shoring - we are in the thick of it at my workplace - to China.
-
Can't sleep - still fuming over the fact that Obama called both Boehner and McConnell on election night and both professed to be asleep. The speaker of the House (second in line of succession) and the senate minority leader asleep when the commander-in-chief calls??? What disrespectful, envious, small minded, unpatriotic little snakes. How many people would not come to the phone if the president calls. Only a washed out party with hatred on its agenda.
I really want Obama to play hardball from now on. Get rid of all the Bush tax cuts and do it however he has to. Hold Boehner personally accountable for that damned fiscal cliff. The GOP doesn't have the credibility to make gains in 2014. Things have got to change around here, and I think the country will back any move that ends gridlock in congress.
ETA: No worries, suzie!
