Clair McCaskill keeps her seat. Go away, rapist-lovers!

Wonderful News!!!
-
I had to switch to Fox to see what you were talking about it....now they're lamenting their candidate probably neeeded to attract more moderates and wasn't Romney the one to do it??
-
HL - Fantastic! Is Kaine still a possibility in VA?
-
Republican Allen is 35,000 votes ahead in VA - but yes, Kaine is still possible. He actually looks slightly more likely than the president. Both are very close races. Fairfax county is really going to tell the story there.
-
Fairfax is near DC, right?
-
You can follow VA results here:
http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/results/states/virginia
ETA - Yes, Kam. Fairfax is right next to DC and it is the very populous county that has swung increasingly blue over the years. Obama's Victory in VA in 2008 was largely fed by Fairfax.
-
Despite not wanting Romney, and at times despising him, I always feel a bit bad for the loser.
Thanks Athena....
-
Orrin Hatch wins reelection in Utah - ugh!
-
They are still voting in Fairfax ... Just read a WaPo update that people were still in line at Skyline trying to vote at 8:00 and they had to move them inside because the temps are falling. Skyline is a big immigrant area which votes Dem (they were unamused by George Allen's "macaca" moment). If the President takes Virginia, Kaine should get the nod. Keeping fingers crossed, because George Allen is revolting.
Crap. Republican pickup of Ben Nelson's Nebraska senate seat.

Barack's lead in Florida now by 37,000 votes. Remember a while ago I said it was 13,400? Wel, the night is our friend!
Still not out of range of a recount, I believe....off to check....
-
The CNN analysts, including Carville, think Obama will take FL. Cassanova (no, not his name) is very dejected on Romney's chances overall.
-
I think Obama may just nose out beyond the margin that would trigger a recount - by a hair. I think. Still to early to say.
Kam, that's Alex Castellanos, a longtime GOP hack.
-
Karl Rove on Fox....loathsome toad. Analyzing Ohio. Waste of time, Karl. Barack has that state in the bag, IMO. He still clings to hope, it seems.
-
I'm not turning to Fox to see Rove, but is he still lying through his teeth about "his polls?"
-
Still hoping for TIM KAINE in VA. Democratic areas still voting. Same as in FL, as Athena said. Miami/Dade is solid BLUE Democratic..
OH looks so good - and he's already got NH - so, I'm not as concerned about Prez in VA, as I am for Kaine.
-
Obama's lead in populous Cuyahoga Co (a dem stronghold on Ohio) is widening very slightly - it keeps him safely ahead. Still only 9 percent of the vote counted there.
-
Manassas is NOT 45 minutes outside of DC -- more like 30 minutes (Steve Kornacki on MSNBC). They are still voting in VA, but 80% is in.
I cannot bear to watch Faux Noise, even for entertainment. I haven't had a rabies vaccination, so I don't go there! -
This is from Twitter....David Schuster from Current (formerly MSNBC):
Dem Tim Kaine has just been projected winner of the VA Senate race, burying the political career of George "macaca" Allen. #current2012
-
It's 45 minutes if you hit the traffic wrong.......LOL
-
Sun - things still look hopeful for Kaine. Only 29 percent of precincts have reported in Fairfax. Romney/GOP is ahead on neighboring Prince William county, which Obama won in 2008, but only by 108 votes last time I checked.
-
Now CBS is also calling it for Tim Kaine!!!
-
Yeah for Kaine! Duckworth won, too!!!
-
Bye bye Joe Walsh - still hope he can pay his child support, though.
-
What about Michelle Bachmann?
-
Luckily for me it's 4.25pm here so I will be able to watch the results all night. As I said you elections are complicated. We have a 120 seat parliament, we elect 60 electrate seats and have a party vote which determines the other 60. Not having a president does make things easy. There have been times of close results and recounts and judical reviews.
I sometimes laugh at some of the things said about American politics, our National Party is probably somewhere close to the Democrates and then the Labour Party is left of that but still quite centre on the political spectrum. We do have a couple of very small very conservative parties, one has a seat so our government is very centrist.
I am watching CNN and have BBC and Huff on the computer as well as the great BCO election results.
-
According to the NYT, democrats have netted 2 seats in the senate. Republicans are up 4 seats in the house.
MSNBC says the Romney campaign is not responding to calls.
-
Love to see George Allen crash and burn - what a horrible man he is. Can't even watch Fox for entertainment up here - you have to pay the cable company for that privilege (that has always pissed Fox off).
-
Alyson- your a bona fide American groupie

-
Bachmann's still hanging on to her seat by a few %
