I agree who needs glass doors? I got crap I need to hide! I like those cabinet colors, I think that is a good idea to lighten it up! Sounds wonderful Doreen!

Hey everyone checking in !
Don't want to lose this thread. Oops I see cowgirl was the last to post, hee-hee.
I am going to be starting in a new study called the Stellar
study . The same group NSBC that did the Star.
The drugs that will be used are a AI and Letrozole (sp)
I will be getting my evaluation the first week of June
along with the FSH test. I will be on the drug for 5 yrs
and meds, mammo and gyn check ups every 6 months.
I am kinda nervous of the side effects but if all you brave babes can do it after all you been through so will I!
After all I can always come here and whine LOL !!
hugs,
Carrie -
Carrie,
I am so glad you are taking action now! I know it is scarey but bc is a lot more scarey! -
Well my update/checkin is not exactly a good thing today. I debated on whether I should share my news or not but I need to vent. So here goes.
Mom went to doctor finally the other day, HMO doctor took forever. So here is what she has as of Wedsnesday. Her neuropathy is back in full force, she has some kind of spinal pressure problem in her neck caused by spurs that needs operating on. Then as if that were not enough she has Early Stage Parkinsons. Also she wanted that revision and now she has developed LE.
So here I am with my own issues, the BRAC test isn't back yet. I have gained some weight back, the last month. Anyway what I am finding the most difficult is being positive and perky( God knows it helps me to stay positive), while spending time with Mom. Mom is a manic depressive, which can be trying. I feel I need to surround myself with positive energy in my personal life, but that is a no go with my mom. She is in the depths of depression, I mean way low.
So I am struggling how to cope and stay positive, while still encourage and frankly not go nuts myself.
Sanity can be a struggle some days. I don't feel her life is full of doom, I feel like she hit the wall heard some bad awful news. If she focuses on day at a time, she can make it. But right now she is in a very dark place, and I don't have a clue how to help her. She doesn't hear me now when I try to help her. -
Cowgirl,
I don't know how I missed your post.
Man when it rains it pours, I am praying for Mom
I know what is like to deal with a family member
that is manic depressant.
You need to let the professionals intervene with Mom
right now, you are right she does'nt hear you, you can't help right now it is not your fault. (((hugs))
You need to take care of you!
Hugs,
Carrie -
Cowgirl, will keep you and your mom in my prayers. Take care of yourself.
Kari -
Well my update on mom is as good as it can be. She is still down but her PCP is out of town till Monday. I will call him Monday and try to tell what I hope he can do. Her friend called to say she is still down, and I need to call him but not to carry the burden. Her circle of friends are helping both of us, I am so grateful.
-
Cowgirl: Sorry to hear of the added worry and stress. I hope your Mom's PCP is able to do what you hope they can do. I'm glad to hear that you're getting help from friends and your Mom's friends. That's sooo important as you know.
Hugs,
Doreen -
Okay further update, I got sick. I made her an appointment, spoke to the nurse the whole nine yards. Called her sister, her friend, I needed to push her to the doctor. But me being sick I didn't get to take her, and lo and behold she didn't go. Honestly I am feel like I need to step back and wait for her to realise her problem. There is only so much I can do. I barely made it to my son's awards ceremony today!
-
Sorry I haven't posted for quite a while but I'm sure you all know how busy I've been working on my so-called project. Will get back to y'all when I'm done!
Just remember, you are all in my thoughts even when I don't post in here.

Oh my gosh I cursed myself!!
The other day I posted on the funnel cloud thread in moving beyond, I told about being in 3 tornado's and one being a cat5. I listed things you might want to have
in a plastic bag incase you needed to take cover.
Well yesterday we had some bad storms move through and would'nt you know it, we were issued a tornado warning one was spoted and our town sirens were wailing.
It scared the you know what out of me!! ( okay you southern ladies don't laugh) Could I find my emegency bag?
oh no, I was in an absolute panic!!
As the sierns are blasting half our family out of town are calling to add to my panic so what do I do? I call Cowgirl
in Texas to tell her if I go off line what is going on!
Now when I think about this I think wow am I a spaz !!
what in the world could she do? And why am I pacing around holding the phone? I really need to work on my emergency mode reaction. lol
I would like to note here that cowgirl was very nice about me being a ninny lol !!
As it turned out the Tornado went 20 mi to our north
whew!!
I need to find my dang emergency bag !
Carrie -
WOW... Carrie ... it really is strange how we think we are prepared for an emergency - and then when one is close we kinda just lose all those things we know we are supposed to do and we get into a tail-spin ...
I'm glad that the Tornado went 20 miles north of you...
Now go find that emergency bag and make sure its' somewhere where you'll know exactly where its' at!!
Hugs,
Doreen -
Carrie... thanks for asking ... I'm doing Great!!
Cowgirl - I found a countertop fabricator in town that carries WilsonArt laminates - I'm going to look at them today...
Fumi: I agree with Carrie - I can't wait for your beautiful and touching creation be shown to everyone
Hoping you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend. I've got today off of work -so I'm going to have a 4 day weekend .. nothing planned - just lots of stuff around the house, want to read a book (haven't done that in over a year) and watch some movies ... maybe have a small Bar-B-Q.
Hugs,
Doreen -
It's up now. Go check out the Recurrence board.
-
Fumi,
I went to Denise's with my DH and we all three watched it together, It is so moving! My Dh was on a rant all the way home about how much he hated to see all the lives this has disrupted, and how impressed he was with your video.
Hugs {{{{{Fumi}}}}}} -
Hi Fumi, I saw it too. It was really beautiful and moving. Brought tears to my eyes.

Fumi did a great job!!!!
Doreen, I know you will be happy with it! Thanks for posting about your kitchen!
Carrie,
Thanks for keeping me distracted. I know where we are headed with mom this summer, and I know I have to pace myself! For this week I go to convention and hob nob with the movers and shakers!
FYI I am a delegate to the Republican Texas Convention(sorry but this is my passion, it is my hobby some people knit I politic!). I am so happy to go this last time. It is my last time as a delegate I think at least that is my plan. TD has been chosen as a page, it is a great honor. He will get a special t-shirt and meet the big wigs! I got him the duds, so he will look good. DH and the other boys are headed to the pool and sightseeing! So TD and I will be buds for a few days, I am a proud peacock mamma! I am sure you can see my feathers from your town! This is the biggest convention in USA, the national is smaller than ours. So I know TD will be floored by the amount of people there. What I love is to see all the kinds of people from Mennonites, gays and Harley lovers it is a big party!
There is always a salsa, chips and marguirita party, I will be there! There is also a Haggen das party I can hardly wait! -
First cowgirl I want to wish you a very very happy One year
anniversary, whoo hoo you go girlfriend! I know this is late but you have had some stuff going on.
What a wonderful time you are going to have PARTY ,PARTY!!
I can see your feathers clear to Ohio
hgus ,
Carrie
look I got so excited for you all I spelled hug wrong lol!! -
Fumi, you did such a wonderful job on Diane's tribute. It was so moving and so sad.
DoreenF: I live in California, I keep my emergency bag and blanket in my car and 2 five gallon containers of water in my garage. But I just realized, we should all be keeping an emergency supply of our meds in our emergency kit!! -
~~Fumi~~
thank you
for the time
you spent making
the most beautiful
video ever~~
Cowgirl
Happy One Year~
Party time~~Party it up
you deserve it!!!
xoxo
Patti -
Mags I am so sorry I meant to respond to you! I vacation in Greece all the time in my mind!
Carrie! Thanks I truly appreciate it!
Patty thanks also!
I am determined to find Clarks today! Come H*&( or high water I am getting some dang new shoes! -
Cowgirl~Did you go get your twinkle toes done? hmmm?
You deserve some girly pampering time, taking care of a house full of guys !
Hi terynsmom~ I have enjoyed you post and saw a pic of you and your beautiful little daughter. Welcome and glad to see you here! I did find my emergency bag I put it right were I could find it easily **NOT**
So I am ready next time . I have asthma so having my meds is importain. I found out last Tornado that hit our town it is very hard to get around town and get meds refilled.
You have to go to emergency set up sites for treatments and with so many injured people it can be an ordeal!!
Doreen~ I can't wait to see pics of your new kitchen if you get your counter tops post a pic of them okay?
Mags~ Just wanted to say hi I miss you, stop by when you can and say hey.
Patti~ I want to say I am so sad about Lu having such a hard time bless her heart. She sounds like a real fighter true to her name and a dear sweet person. I hope when you are posting again you will come back here and post too, as you are a happy bright spot where ever you are .
Fumi ~ {{hugs}} how are you doing, are you resting from your busy time? I saw that Diane posted to you about the movie. I am so gald that she saw it, It is truly beautiful
Hugs everyone!!
Carrie -
Cowgirl: Sounds like you're having fun at the convention... have you bought your new shoes yet ?? How are the parties going ?
Hi Terynsmom - I'm way up in Northern California ... not sure if there's ever been any impact from earthquakes up here ... my danger is more likely to be fire - I live in the middle of the forest ... I've got tons of food & water and would be pretty self sufficient .. but if I ever had to leave quickly I'd be scrambling - nowwhere near as prepared as cowgirl is...
Carrie: I haven't finalized the plan yet for the kitchen ... still woking on the floorplan ... so its' going to be awhile ... too many decisions to make! When I've narrowed it down I'll post some links and ask for your advice ... you can vote for my countertop and flooring....
Hi Mags!!!
Hi Patti!!!
Hi Fumi (aka mini Godzilla): How are you ? I haven't seen you around since the weekend. Hope everything is good... and that you're just catching up on all the things you put on hold while you were creating the video for Diane. I'm soooo happy that she was able to see this. I mailed the CD to her yesterday.
Hugs to all of you...
Doreen -
Doreen, thanks for mailing the CD to Diane. I'm glad she watched it and that she's getting a copy via mail.
Happy one year anniversary Cowgirl! Wishing you many many many more.
Sorry I've been MIA since the weekend but I have been a little fatigued. I think it's either Tamoxifen or Taxol. I feel like I'm 80 years old, apparently I get tired from everything I do. My feet always feel so heavy, as if I walked thousand miles. I've been feeling a little crappy and left out for some reason. I guess that a part of reason why I don't feel great is those nasty hot flashes. It's so hard to cope with when the weather is getting hotter with too much humidity, especially when I have to waer this silly wig! -
Fumi: Big hugs to you!!! I'm sorry you are feeling so fatigued - I suspect that that is more from the Taxol than from the Tamoxifen... Don't push yourself... rest when you need to... and please please please don't feel left out. We love you....
I hate the hot flashes ... one thing that helps me is to put something cool around my neck - e.g. a wet towel and to use a personal fan on my face. That helps to cool down pretty quickly. There are some products that can be refrigerated that can help too... I'd be happy to go to the store and get something and send it to you ....
Hugs,
Doreen -
Hi Ladies, here's another place for you to vacation cowgirl. It's about 20 minutes drive from my house.

Hope your mum is ok cowgirl. Hugs for you. Enjoy your convention - I know you will. Should be such good fun having your son with you aswell.
Carrie, I'm going to go and say hi on the family, friends, partners thread when I have time lol. Pleased to hear that the tornado missed you.
Hi Fumi, I have problems with my feet too and I didn't do chemo only tamoxifen. I get the hot flushes too. I have zoladex which shuts down my ovaries so I can't blame my tamoxifen for those. Later I will though lol. I think the heat really doesn't help. I just want to keep taking naps and it's one year and a half since I finished my treatments.
Hi Doreen, you gonna post some pics when you finish your kitchen?
Hi Patti, good to see you here. Friends baby is 4 months now and doing great.
Hi Terynsmom, nice to see your smiling face here. I've seen you on other threads. Nice to meet you at last.
Ok ladies, that was a huge post. Hope it makes up for the fact that I haven't posted for a while.
I'll see some of you in the other thread. Have a good day.
Hugs
