HL --- very, very moving testimony. I am still left thinking any Republican with half a brain will silently and quietly mark a ballot, drop it in the box, walk out, with no one the wiser and vote the the man who won't be thinking of how to take things away from him.
While listening to many of the conservatives making all the noise, pointing out all the "wrongs" they can find and swearing they are ahead all the way............leaves no room for those who like the man in the video can plainly see what they will lose if Romney were to actually win.
Unless some truly dire event were to take place and I think the chances of that are small to none, Romney lost the first debate momentum that he got, and our President has steadily gained ground. Yes, I do worry about the dirty tricks and suppression, but I also know.....no one is going to stand quietly by and give up what we gain. It just will not happen.

One thing we will do if Romney wins is sell all our investments. While not rich, we do have our life savings in the market. The stock market has gone down under every Republican president of modern times.

Media mogul and conservative creep Rupert Murdoch has shown that he cares more about money and partisanship than human lives (no surprise there) in a recent piece of garbage he posted to Twitter. As most of you know, Obama and Christie set an amazing example forbipartisanshipworkingtogether in the aftermathof Hurricane Sandy. Notably, Obama’s approval rating for this disaster response is extremely high —nearly 80 percent!
We know at least one person doesn’t approve, though, as Rupert Murdoch Tweeted this bit of moral defecation:
As Huffington Post reports, campaigning is the farthest thing from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s mind right now:
What a lovely, lovely man. One needs to watch out who they befriend.

F---Ass - I think the world would be so much better off without Murdoch. By the way, he is the perfect little fascist.
-
I just wish England had indicted him for the illegal eavesdropping scandal. Here's hoping there's an indictment in his future.
-
Sounds like Rupert Murdoch thinks Romney already lost. Join club Rupie!

Just peeked over the fence. Heavy denial going on over there.

Saw this on facebook today. It made me think of some of our, shall we say reflected BCO sisters? The truth is definitely inconvenient sometimes.

Department of Justice Sending Attorneys To Monitor Polls – Campaigns Prepare For Election Litigation
As the 2012 Presidential Campaign enters the last few days before the November 6th General Election, tensions are rising to a fever pitch over the likelihood of a closely contested outcome and; neither the Federal Government, nor the two campaigns are leaving anything to chance. Concerned over possible voting irregularities, the Department of Justice is dispatching nearly 800 attorneys and staff to monitor voting in the most hotly contested jurisdictions in 23 states.
It is widely expected that tempers will be short in many areas, thanks to exceedingly long lines—as well as the real possibility of open confrontations of voters trying to cast their ballot—being challenged bypartisan ‘poll-watchers’from various right-wing groups, such asTrue The Vote, which is now the subject of criminal investigations.
Further, in many areas, the voting procedures are being closely monitored by the DOJ and the Obama campaign, as Team Romney has employed poll watching operatives who have beentrained to mislead voterson their right to vote! While one hates to predict that this could result in violence at the polls…it is certainly a possibility. As reported bymsn.com, citizens who wish to vote should be aware of how they can respond tovoter interferenceor outright intimidation, which is a federal crime…
The public can phone or email complaints about possible voting rights violations through Tuesday.
The phone numbers are 1-800-253-3931 or 202-307-2767 and the number for those who are deaf or hard of hearing is 1-877-267-8971. The fax number is 202-307-3961.
Complaints can be emailed tovoting.section@usdoj.gov or filed by filing out a complaint form on the department’s website:www.justice.gov/crt/about/vot/.
Complaints also may be directed to any of the 94 U.S. Attorneys’ Offices around the country, local FBI offices or the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section at 202-514-1412.
In Florida, there is already grave concern being expressed overearly voting irregularitiesover substantial early tally changes, five-hour waits to vote and missing absentee ballots not being received by voters, some of whom made their requests over a month ago! There are also concerns that voters who may not have been able to cast an absentee ballot but show up in-person to vote, will be provided ‘provisional ballots’ in many jurisdictions and that those ‘provisional ballots’ may never get counted.
Moreover, if long lines persist on election day, it is all but certain that injunctive relief will be sought in state and/or federal courts in places like Florida and Ohio (as happened in 2004) to keep the polls open long after their scheduled closing times.
Added to that stress, is the fact that some (mostly Democratic, East Coast Blue States) are scrambling to prepare for election day amid recovery efforts due to Hurricane Sandy. Electrical power and even polling places in many precincts were entirely wiped out and must be restored or replaced in order to allow orderly, timely voting access.
Therefore, both the Obama and Romney campaigns are readying a virtual ‘army of attorneys’ to slug it out in court if necessary—on a whole host of election issues. In a report filed yesterday by the Associated Press, reported bymsn.com–the key to any litigation over the election results, e.g. possible recounts or challenges to voting rights or the disposition of ‘prosivional ballots’–is the actual width and breadth of any discrepancies reported.

Notself, DH and I have discussed how we go into capital preservation if Robme wins. His economic "plans" (pause here for hysterical laughter segueing into tears) will crash the economy even more thoroughly than Duh did. The problem is that U.S. Government bonds won't be worth anything either. We are trying to figure out where to go with our investments if Robme does win.
Jackie, there are all kinds of press releases from the FBI and DOJ as well as memes on FB, posters around the country and flyers that voter rights groups are printing up about voter suppression. I have shared several posters with my family and friends and asked them to print out, share with their friends, leave on public transportation and take to the polls. The regressive voter suppressors are absolutely hands-down the most unAmerican, unpatriotic people I know or have heard of. Ever. They make me sick.

Dh and I just finished watching the movie, The Campaign. Pretty funny stuff. Campy but funny. Amazing how it mirrors (no pun intended
) what has been happening in this campaign. They didn't let either party off the hook either. -
Notself and HL, DH and I are also looking at capital preservation if Romney wins. We have a meeting with our financial advisor scheduled. We couldn't meet with him until after the election because the results will dictate our course.
Edited to fix spelling and to add: Enjoyful I'm glad that you got decent margins.

Sec. of State in Ohio is not behaving well. I'm sure that is not a surprise and will be dealt with accordingly. At the same time, EC numbers are still rising for Pres. Obama. It's all looking good. Karl Rove is "finding" reasons for Romney to be losing....it's the storm's fault or something of that nebulous ilk. Of course, you can just count on a hurricane to foul things up for you, heartless soul that you are. You blame the storm while people are still trying to get basic necessities.
List of cold, heartless Progressives is a long one.

We are going to money market even if it doesn't pay interest. We will sit it out at least a year perhaps two. I expect the Rethugs will want higher interests rates and will justify them by saying we are attracting capital to the US to provide more jobs. If that doesn't work they will say that the rate hike will be to avoid inflation. Either way rates will go up under Romney.
The Rethugs will also pass another repatriation bill that will give a "temporary" forgiveness of taxes due on any profits brought back to the US that American companies made overseas. This, too, will be justified as producing jobs even though the last time it was done, under Bush II, the money saved by corporations went to bonuses.
Perhaps if Romney is elected he will waive a magic wand and the economy will be as good as under Clinton. If so, we will buy back in. One of our investment rules is don't worry if you miss the bottom to buy or the top to sell. No one every went broke taking a profit.

There's a video on their site. It's hysterical! He should have never strapped his pup on top of his car. Bad Romney.....no treat for him.
-
I had some investments in the U.S. via my Mutual Funds which I opted out of last year.
-
Investments? What are investments? HAHAHAHAHA! I guess that's why I'm so enthused over Mitt's plan to eliminate capital gains tax on people making less than $200,000!

Bill Mahr position is he wins either way with the election. His take on the election: If Obama wins, then America wins. If Romney wins, then comedy wins.
Although I have to say that the tea party and company will continue to provide comic relief either way. If Obama wins, there will be comedy in the effort to blame it on: 1. a conspiracy of the moslem/liberal/commie media 2. a conspiracy by the vote counters in Ohio (do you know, they're already making statements about not trusting the governor of Ohio) 3. a conspiracy by scientists who concocted a giant wind machine to create the hurricane on the East Coast and thereby ensure Obama's election by allowing him to look presidential 4. Chris Christie conconcting a giant wind machine to create the hurricane so that Christie can look presidential, ensure Obama's relection in 2012, thereby clearing the way for his own campaign in 2016. As i said, comic possibilities abound.

I've been sitting on my bum watching The Office - laughing out loud to no one - my goodness, I'm addicted. Poor Steve, I can't remember where we were up to. Also found out we'd been missing episodes where the disc menu went to another screen. I've written the ones we missed down, so we'll have to go back and catch up. Then I might remember which was the last one he saw.
Seeing I'd been so lazy, I decided to go for a ride. I did the short version as it's quite windy but still was gone for 31 mins. No attacks from that magpie luckily - maybe his babies have hatched.
