Atypical hyperplasia after cancer, now what?

Im not sure where to post. My results came back today from my two biopsies. The calcifications were fine. The complex cyst however is an atypical hyperplasia. My doctor said he would meet with his team next Thursday and plan a course of action. I was Stage 3 in 2009. That cancer was in the other breast. Anyone here that has had an atypical hyperplasia diagnosis after a cancer, please let me know what the doctors decided was the course of action for the hyperplasia.

Hi there, I had atypical lobular hyperplasia dx at the same time as my IDC, but in the other breast. My BS said it was 'totally not malignant' and it more or less indicated that I would have a higher risk of developing cancer, which obviously happened! She said it would be the same sort of increased risk as having a sister or mother with BC. Anyway, it only showed up on MRI, they biopsied it and put in a clip, then followed it on MRI for a few years. It never changed. Now I just have Mammos.

If it didn't involve general anesthetic I may have had it removed, but I haven't. Let us know what your surgeon recommends!

Thanks KerryMac~ My atypical hyperplasia wasn't there 6 months ago. So it concerns me that it's new. Thanks for sharing your experience. I really do appreciate it. :) I'll post again when I know something.
