blue - I'm a little allergic to the smoke, so can't eat a whole lot of it, as I start to get asthma. I don't know if it's unhealthy in any other respect. I know the salmon itself is healthy, I don't think the brining would cause a problem, as there are no odd chemicals (like saltpeter or anything) it's mostly water, a little salt and sugar, then some herbs. Would it be the smoke that would be unhealthy?

I think so, but what the heck, we only live once, and life is short.

Pickling can be carcinogenic. Kimchi, miso and pickled fish is attributed with the higher stomach cancer rates in Asia. Sorry for being a Debbie Downer.
-
I accidently posted this in the bubble. Whoops.
Gads, just like Carly Fiorinia and Meg Whitless sending HP jobs to China and Singapore, Mitt Romney's Bain Capitial is sending all kinds of American jobs (not just Senesta) to China. How could anyone vote for this guy? Unpatriotic.

Gonna go watch some fearfest on AMC. Did you know that "The Walking Dead" has been TV's most watched show. I love this time of year with all the horror flicks. Funny how scared I'd be to watch them but now I just laugh. One movie really got to me though "The Lady in Black". That one spooked me.
Already have my pumpkins out. I might take a pic tomorrow if I remember. I get the weirdest looking ones. hehe!

Hmmm, boy were the mods quick next door, so all's well in airy-fairlyland.

Preparing to enjoy Rachel Maddow, as usual. If I don't nod off first, that is.... Man, I am tired, but it is the type of fatigue you know will dissipate as soon as your head hits the pillow.
-
ah well.... probably ;if you eat too much of anything you'll get cancer (or something). I can't eat only poached and baked salmon (and there's probably something wrong with those as well, so heigh-ho, it's off to whatever I go....
-
Being alive gives you cancer. Dead people don't get tumors. Once I realized that, I ate away. :-)

HL, "Pleasantville" is my daughter's favorite movie ever! (I like it too, but am not sure I'd rank it QUITE as highly as she does.)
As far as fish go . . . since moving to Brooklyn I've rediscovered bluefish. I know it has the reputation of being strong and fishy, but when it's really fresh, it's delicious.
(I love swordfish, too, and am sure that anything sold in my neighborhood was sustainably and even lovingly harpooned. But it's super expensive, so I haven't bought any yet. Love it prepared Turkish style, grilled with onion and bay leaf and lemon.)

Going to Rachel and some other of my favorite people.

IllinoisLady - it would take me longer than that to even figure out how to contact a Mod! The truth is blinding.
-
Why did the mods delete that? It's true.

Before I go........This is the story of the swordfish from my home town in Italy. It is romanticized. Sorry if the English is whacked but it is translated from Italian.

Yeah, are we now on list...no matter what we post we get deleted?
Help - I'm stuck in BCO cyberspace now!!!
-
me too! weird scenes inside the gold mine!
-
Oh, weird. Is it my iPad or BCO?
L -
Just this thread...I posted elsewhere and it's just fine. They're getting ready to do something to us....outsource to China?
-
What got deleted??
-
I'd rather go to Mars!
-
I honestly and innocently made a post in the bubble that I meant to post here...I did post it here, after that, see above.....about China, jobs, Mitt, Senasta, unpatriotic, etc.
-
Back on earth Blue...sorry.
-
How come everything is all screwy???
-
I think it was just page 1021. It looks fine now.
Maybe the mods are just trying to head off trouble, though why facts should be trouble, I don't know.

oh - it's OK now.....

-
GG - did you see my dueling volcanos post earlier today?
-
Check and see...if you post, does it show up as "new" in your favorites. Mine does not.
-
OK, this thread looks very weird. The messages are squished together, with avatars overlapped with the next message down, and the column goes all the way to the left margin (which it hasn't done since the revamp).
-
There was a mess up like this one on an alt. thread not long ago.
Mods: if you are going to be so quick to delete posts that I am sure did not violate the rules, then please delete any that come here. OR better yet, allow both.
