Gerson Therapy
Hi Ladies! I have just been diagnosed with ILC STAGE 2B they biopsied one lymph node and its positive. I am also estrogen positive. I still have to go through bone and CT scans which scare the crap outta me with the radiation. I'm a very alternative person and have spent zillions of hours in research. I see many women who have tried a multitude of alternative therapies here that maybe haven't worked. I am wondering if anyone has done the Gerson Therapy strictly for a year or two with the coffee enemas? I'm very interested in finding someone who did NOT do chemo and/or radiation first b4 alternative therapies as that greatly hinders the success of any alternative choice! Of course, I am worried of prolonging surgery and yes I have read Chillipad's story here. She just hasn't clarified if she did gerson and if so, was she stringent with the protocol. I do feel discipline is the key. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!!!!

Hi! Thanks! I will check it out...does it have testimonials? I want testimonials, not info on Gerson as I have researched it like crazy!
Also, has anyone here ever tried Cessium chloride? It has a 50% cure rate for terminal cancers!
-
I am really puzzled here. If cessium chloride has a 50% rate of curing terminal cancer, why is it not routinely used like chemotherapy and radiation? Anybody has an explanation?
-
Illegal I think to use like laetrile
-
For what reason would cessium chloride be illegal?
-
I did Gerson for about 6 weeks prior to my mastectomy while taking Tamox to shrink my tumor. The side effect from the Tamox were so horrid, I really needed the enemas for elimination and detoxification. I juiced and juiced and juiced and it is very hard and expensive to keep up this diet. I believe it also has some dangers as there is little to no protein allowed, and high protein, but no meat the way I understand it is very important for fighting cancer. With the Gerson method even if the diet helps to rid the cancer, the patient can die of malnutrtion before they have a chance to reap the benefits of any success from the diet. Some of the supplements required are also dangerous, the potassium salts are very strong and dangerous unless used correctly. You'd definately wan to keep these compounds away from children. The lugols is also dangeroud, and the pancreatic enzymes really messed up my system the first few times I too, them. Anyway, My tumor shrank from 10cm to 5.5 cm in one month prior to surgery. Not sure if it was the tamx the gerson or the combonation. I lost a lot of weight and also lost my appetite completely which I learned was not healthy for me. i still drink a lot of juices but eat beans eggs nuts fish seeds and lots of fruits and veggies, I don't know how it's all gonna pan out. None of us do. I just do my best with what I know. Best to you Joleelee!

Chillipadi passed away in early September. She did try some alternative diet and tx.
-
Firm believer in Gerson here. When I was diagnosed, I met a wonderful lady who had worked for a long time I think with Charlotte Gerson in the CA clinic. She gave me stacks of research paper photocopies. Modern diet is sorely deficient in the right vitamins and minerals.
I did it strictly for almost a year...but in conjunction with traditional treatment. I even did the hippocrates soup which is a toughie to find all the ingredients for in my area! I got blasted on this topic awhile back, so I dont post much about my treatment path. It works for me, and I dont need the headache of arguing my choices.
It is too difficult to stick to so long post treatment. I remained vegan....no dairy, meat, sugar etc. I still start and end my day with 16 ounces of juice. I also grow and
juice wheat grass. I also exercise and try to sit in the sun daily. Too me, it's just all common sense stuff.
If you havent picked up the book on Gerson Therapy, it's worth a read!! -
I am a firm believer in Gerson as well! People can blast away at me because it makes no sense to poo poo treatments...we all have to find the right choice which feels right to us otherwise no treatment will work for us! Mind over matter, I say! I have researched so much how chemo and cutting and burning out the tumor just makes the tumor come back more aggressively etc...I am not saying I will not have a masectomy! That may still be in the cards for me. My understanding with chillipadi (I know she has recently passed which is so sad) respectfully, is that she did not stick with just one protocol faithfully and I also wonder if she did the coffee enemas which is SO necessary to clear out all of the toxins or they just keep circulating in the body! I also have some new info....I have a friend who is in Govt (would rather not mention her name) but she knows a doctor who is also in Govt. They know of a treatment in Ecuador run by an american doctor who had to flee the United States because the FDA tried to shut him down. He is curing cancer and I don't want to have a political argument here but cancer in America is big business for which they really do not want a cure. Please don't flame me! We are all trying our best to navigate this tide to find the safe shores home! They know of many senators who have gone to Ecuador for a cure. I know we cannot afford to all go to Ecuador, but the theory of their cause of cancer is linked to dental infections, abscesses and root canals! There has been many studies that show the link to cancer and other diseases to dental infections. I had a horrible abscess two years ago and had my tooh pulled...I had the infection for 4-5 years prior! I cannot help but wonder if there is a connection. I researched this and found if I get a thermography from my nose to my breasts and if there is a faint red line connecting the two then that is most porbably the cause of my breast cancer. This clinic in Ecuador believes this as well. Here is there link http://ncresearch.org/index.html
Also, has anyone been on the wellnesswarrior.com? Jessica Ainscough is a well known blogger and author who cured her cancer with Gerson therapy. Her mom now has breast cancer and has been on Gerson. Her mom was doing well but improvement was slower than desired...so, her Gerson doctor had her get a hair analysis and found she has huge amounts of metal popisonings and candida and fungus in her body! they fixed that problem and she improved greatly! I believe we all can heal our bodies! having chemo is just getting rid of the symptoms, not curing the problem of what caused the cancer in the first place! Common sense. When we have chemo it just sends the cancer into hiding to only come out and blast us stronger in the future! We must change our diets, and heal our bodies naturally the best we can. I am not completely ruling out traditional treatments myself, just trying to make the best decision for me! Also, the wellness warrior, Jessica, has an awesome interview on her blog with a well known docotr who is studying hormones and breast cancer....Here is the link!

Cessium Chloride is just like laetrile. They really do not desire a full blown cure....common sense, really. Too much money, shareholding and jobs at stake. I don't want to be political, but someone here asked why and I will answer...It cost approx 300,000 dollars to treat just one cancer patient! LOTS of money involved here....take a peak at the 'board of trustees' and shareholdres...research it! many have conflicting monetary interest.
-
Lightandwin....I don't believe Gerson to be dangerous. perhaps it did contribute to shrinking your tumor! I believe you have to stick to it for atleast 18 months to two years for it show a cure and then you have to be on maintenance for awhile and maybe the rest of your life. Later on you can add a little meat etc and it becomes less stringent. I have taken Lugol's iodine for two years and have just really upped my dosage...Lugol's is by no means dangerous. Have you done extensive research on this? You can also pay to have a Gerson doc monitor you if you don't go to the clinic. You can have a Gerson caretaker come to your home to totally set you up for a week and train you! is it tough! Yes! I am fortunate as I am a stay at home mom with my own business, so it might be a little easier for me!
-
There is a body scan that can monitor and scan your body to see where infection and/or fungus may be! It's called Spectravision biofeedback bodyscan....I met one woman who cured her ILC stage 2 by using this scan and eliminated the fungus in her body. She did an alkalining diet and is cancer free!
-
A great movie to watch about gerson and environmental toxins is "A beautiful Truth"...you can watch it for free on YouTube....wonderful, very informative and interesting!
-
I want to apologize for my many spelling errors! I was typing so fast! LOL I will preview b4 submitting in the future as I know spelling errors are annoying!
-
To lightandwind...You had said you can die on the Gerson diet due to malnutrician...do you have any links (besides those from the ACC) that show proof of this. I don't understand how anyone can die in to years while juicing (flooding body with nutrients) and eating a vegetarian diet? the supplements and liver supplements, along with the flax oil provide nourishment!
-
Unless a person has leaky gut or other digestive issue, Gerson Therapy will nourish the body with nutrition. In my opinion, the liver flushes are immensely healing for almost every known illness. The liver is the largest organ in the body and has something like 500 functions to do. I passed thousands of stones and I swear it cured me of everything I had along with the good nutrition. Also, the lack of protein is a good thing for cancer reversal. Proteolitic enzymes kill cancer cells when they are not busy digesting protein and remember that breast milk is something like 5% protein. The Standard American Diet and the food pyramid are all about big business and vested interests. We eat way too much protein according to many cancer experts. The strongest animals are elephants and they are vegetarians. One thing though, the mind must be addressed because fear or an old traumatizing experience or a death of a loved one can suppress the immune system so do take care of that. So, do not be afraid. Surgery you must be careful about. The surgeon can break the envelope containing the cancer and spread it as can a needle biopsy. If you keep the tumor there, you will know what treatments are working for you. Many experts do not require the surgery and advise it only when the tumor is life threatening such as for a total bowel obstruction. If you listen to Leonard Caldwell's story on YouTube, sugery killed his grandmother that had cancer for many years that had left her alone.
The Healing Cancer World Summit is coming up and I registered for the free online interviews with alternative cancer therapy experts. Have you listened to Dr. Day's Cancer Cure on YouTube because she had a breast cancer that she healed naturally and she shows it on her site and it was similar to Gerson Therapy? It was remarkably huge but it dissolved with her recipe of 10 steps to heal cancer naturally. They are sunlight, fresh air, exercise, nutrition, rest, trust in god, benevolence, temperance, water, and one other. Dr. Day refused chemo and radiation and had surgery that didn't remove the cancer. It grew back with a vengeance but then disappeared.
-
Thanks so much for your reply! I DID have two needle biopsies which is making me fearful. I am also afraid of having a CT san and bone scan they have scheduled. because I have two positive nodes, they want to make sure it hasn't spread...but, I am more worried about the radiation, which is a huge amount plus the kidney damage which is possible. I am already registered for that health summit! Cannot wait for that! I am also very aware of lorraine Day and her story. I am just wondering if I should have the scan to see if it has spread...or, since I am doing Gerson and not masectomy at the moment is it really necessary?
-
The 10th step is an attitude of gratitude.
Do not be afraid. Orthodox medicine is extremely invasive. If I was you I probably would not have the scan if there is nothing that is palpable for me to observe. The diagnosis will only incite fear which must be avoided. Since it is already staged, I don't think the new scans will change the stage, do you? I would wait until the therapy has had a chance to work on the underlying problem before having any raidiation and only if absolutely necessary to check for the progress of the therapy.
-
Joellelee, you won't know if it has spread unless you have the scans. Also, Chillipadi followed the Budwig protocol to the letter for over a year, during which time her cancer spread like wildfire. (RIP, Chilli, you fought hard.)
I researched the Gerson Therapy when I was diagnosed and I just couldn't find enough success stories, perhaps because it is very difficult to maintain. You really have to be very wealthy, I think, to be able to take two years off of work to do the protocol. It's possible that those who can do it for two years do well, but I think most people just can't because they eventually have to go to work. Just my opinion, though - best of luck!
-
Chillipadi had a lot of chemotherapy. It doesn't work for breast cancer, measly 1.5% success, and most likely killed her by killing her immune system along the way. It does more harm than good for breast cancer, is a carcinogen, and can make the cancer more aggressive. I do 2 coffee enemas each day and attest to their ability to detoxify the body. My brain was a mess and speech was slurred from a prescription drug and it cleared with the coffee enemas.
-
If we could, let's not have another discussion about Chillipadi's choices. She fought hard, tried everything, and it didn't work. I was just trying to clarify what she tried and that she was very strict with it. But it wasn't Gerson, which was the OP's question. I don't deny that the Gerson protocol is good for you, I was just saying that I hadn't found very many success stories with it, in terms of finding people who had beaten cancer by following it strictly.
-
I'm a tad bit suspicious of the "conversation" going on here between 2 very new posters with very similar names. Hmmmm......
-
YramAL...? Thereis no reason for this! Please do me a favor and don't attack me for no reason. My whole world has turned completely upside down and I am still trying to cope day by day with my diagnosis. I am looking at all the alternative treatment options AND complimentary options...trying to be my own best advocate! Trying to make an informed, educated decision! Now, I know why people are afraid to post here...why the bashing?
-
I too am a big fan of Jessica Ainscough, a Gerson therapy success story. I love her blog. She will be interviewed in the healing cancer summit next week. I listened to the first summit last year. I posted the link last year on the natural girls thread. It was a safe haven for many of us to discuss a variety of topics. Then my post got 'removed by the community' for violating rule #11 or some such nonsense. It was no different than links we'd been posting for years. I was accused of being an affiliate, which I wasn't.
Most people who post here follow the mainstream recommendations. Even though two sections are devoted alternative and complementary treatments, a supportive environment for discussing such matters is usually shortlived. Every message board has its own climate. Like many others, I now spend more time elsewhere and less time here. I love many things about bco. I'll be forever grateful for the support I got here during treatments. For Gerson therapy, however, the supportive environment you desire will probably be located somewhere else. jmho

Joellelee, don't be discouraged by the posts on this thread. They will thwart your efforts because many of them chose orthodox therapies. I love Charlotte Gerson and listen to everything I can about their appoach to healing "incurable diseases." If you have not listened to the Food Matters video on YouTube, I highly recommend it. After working in healthcare, I realize that modern medicine is waiting for clinical studies that will never happen and so they continue on their path of destruction (surgery, radiaition and chemotherapy). I cannot in good conscience listen to them any longer. It's common sense to work with the body and not against it and to treat the body with the respect that it deserves. It is smarter than any physician.
-
Maybe the Gerson therapy works, maybe it doesnt, I have no opinion. But, speaking of common sense, an "attitude of gratitude"? Im pretty sure cancer cells could care less about my attitude.
-
YramAL,
It would be constructive it you kept your negative thoughts to yourself and let our new members have a discussion in peace. This is the kind of unkindness that drives away our best posters. Thanks so much for understanding.
Althea,
I'm so glad to see you again. To our newbies, Althea is one of our most informed and generous posters. Althea, thank you for dropping by and sharing.
Joellee and Emmalee,
I'm pretty sure there is a Yahoo email group just for those doing Gerson. Some people seem to do great on Gerson and some don't. Mods, I wouldn't reduce the Gerson strategy to a diet-based protocol. If you read Gerson's book there is a biochemisty strategy that is far more complex then "diet-based."
I would hope BCO could recruit an expert moderator literate in the main alternative therapies. That way we would learn the dynamics behind each one.
Have a lovely fall afternoon everyone! The leaves are changing and the air is so fresh...Blessings to all.
-
I really didn't post to defend myself, just sharing my experience while doing the Gerson Diet and giving a word of caution. Yes I've done my homework, I wouldn't have tried it had I not. You can research the dangers of taking iodine supplements yourself. I think it's really important for everyone to do their own research before trying any alternative approach. I still take lugols, have seen The Beautiful Truth. My Natropath is certified in Gerson and worked together with Charolette in Mexico. I think there is some wisdom in Gerson, which is why I was willing to try it in the first place. I believe it may have helped to shrink my tumor. I believe there are compounds (enzyme, flavinoids, poyphenols, vitamins and minerals) in fresh fruits and vegetables that can help us fight cancer. I just think people need to be aware of the potential dangers of relying on Gerson to cure them, to be aware of some potentially serious health risks, and to keep potassium salts and iodine away from small children. Improper dosing of these substances can be very dangerous. I care about people, which is why i'm sharing this.
Here is some research on Gerson.
Between 1980 and 1986 at least 13 patients treated with Gerson therapy were admitted to San Diego area hospitals with sepsis attributable to the liver injections . None of the patients was cancer-free, and one died of his malignancy within a week. Five were comatose due to low serum sodium levels, presumably as a result of the "no sodium" Gerson dietary regimen.
Deaths also have been attributed to the coffee enemas administered at the Tijuana clinic.
Gerson claims that treatment at the clinic has produced high cure rates for many cancers. In 1986, however, investigators learned that patients were not monitored after they left the facility
A naturopath who visited the Gerson Clinic in 1983 was able to track 21 patients over a 5-year period . At the 5-year mark, only one was still alive (but not cancer-free); the rest had succumbed to their cancer .

What to Know About Diets That Claim to Cure Cancer
Page last modified on 09/17/2012 11:01 PM
Hundreds of scientific studies support a diet that contains a variety of foods as the cornerstone of healthy eating. Most extreme diets that limit you to eating only one or two foods aren't healthy. The bottom line: There is no scientific evidence that any special diet can cure cancer.Alternative diets that rely on special supplements or injections, fasting for extended periods, or enemas can be harmful to your health — especially if you're getting treatments for breast cancer. If you're in treatment, you need to make sure your body is getting enough nutrients and calories so it can function and heal.
Here are some of the most well-known diets that claim to help "cure" cancer. This is for your information only. Breastcancer.org DOES NOT ENDORSE any of these diets.
Livingston-Wheeler therapy
Livingston-Wheeler therapy includes vaccine, antibiotics, vitamin and mineral supplements, digestive enzymes, enemas, and a vegetarian diet. The safety of this diet has never been established. There is no scientific evidence that Livingston-Wheeler therapy effectively treats breast cancer or any other disease.Gerson therapy
Gerson therapy is a metabolic therapy, meaning it focuses on the chemical functions of the body. Gerson therapy uses a combination of special diets and other elements to try to remove so-called "toxins" from the body that are supposedly causing the disease. Gerson therapy practitioners believe that women with breast cancer have too much sodium in their bodies — so much so that it outweighs the potassium. Gerson therapy involves a very strict low-salt, low-fat, vegetarian diet, and includes drinking juice from approximately 20 pounds of freshly squeezed fruits and vegetables per day. It also includes coffee enemas. There is no scientific evidence that Gerson therapy effectively reduces breast cancer progression or improves survival. Harmful side effects may include malnutrition, severe dehydration, and electrolyte imbalances. Regular enemas can also cause trauma to the anus and rectum (the last two parts of your bowel).Kelly and Gonzalez treatments
Kelly and Gonzalez treatments are also metabolic therapies that try to remove so-called "toxins" from the body. The Kelly treatment involves up to 150 daily supplements, fasting, exercising, and using laxatives or coffee enemas, chiropractic adjustments, and prayer. The Gonzalez treatment is similar. They both focus on "detoxifying" the body and bringing it "back into balance." There is no scientific evidence that Kelly or Gonzalez therapies effectively treat breast cancer or that they are safe for your health. Harmful side effects may include malnutrition, severe dehydration, and electrolyte imbalances. Regular enemas can also cause trauma to the anus and rectum (the last two parts of your bowel). -
What I have come to realize is that there is such medical bias in these studies. Maybe 21 patients were followed and they died while on a Gerson regimen. That doesn't mean that they died because of the Gerson regimen. Many of Gerson's patients have failed orthodox treatments and have been on so much chemotherapy and radiation that they die of malnutrition. It's very common for cancer patients to succumb to the orthodox treatments, some 60% of them, not even of their disease.
There have been studies that have concluded that cancer patients live longer if they do nothing at all rather than undergo orthodox treatments which are virtually worthless. The following states that "After almost 40 years as a cancer researcher, Dr. Jones found, for example, that survival in breast cancer is 4 times longer without conventional treatment. He stated, "People who refused treatment lived for an average of 12-1/2 years. Those who accepted other kinds of treatment lived an average of only 3 years. Beyond the shadow of a doubt, radical surgery on cancer patients does more harm than good." (The Naked Empress, Hans Reusch, p. 74)"
The Untreated Live Longer
http://www.rethinkingcancer.org/resources/magazine-articles/8_11-12/the-untreated-live-longer.php
And what if Gerson removes the sodium? There is sodium in all fruits and vegetables. Carrots have a significant amount of sodium and this is a staple of the Gerson Therapy as seen below.
http://www.healthyeatingclub.com/info/books-phds/books/foodfacts/html/data/data5a.html
Also, NCCAM is part of the NIH and I have heard that it is there to undermine the alternative medicine world, much like the FDA, so I pay no attention to their studies. Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez' regimen was thwarted by lack of oversight by the NIH. He wrote about this in his new book called What Went Wrong: The Truth Behind the Clinical Trial of the Enzyme Treatment of Cancer.
Madribra, there is new research on the effect of the autonomic nervous system on the development of metastatic breast cancer in mice. The sympathetic nervous system is actively involved in the spread of breast cancer so stress-related emotional and phsychosocial factors are significant in the treatment and development of cancer as seen below.
Stimulation of Host Bone Marrow Stromal Cells by Sympathetic Nerves Promotes Breast Cancer Bone Metastasis in Mice
http://www.plosbiology.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pbio.1001363
As for Gerson, he took terminally ill patients and reversed whatever prognosis they were given. The modern medical community can't touch their success rate. The cures are not in conventional therapies. It is in rebuilding and strengthening the body's defenses through effective nutritional and detoxifying approaches.
