Qu'ran-burning "pastor" denied entry into Canada:Edited by Mods to fix the link
-
Ah yes, the hateful pastor not allowed in Canada - no surprise there surely he's doing enough damage right back in his home town.
Lewing - go for the pastrami definitely then take a Zantac before bed and you should be fine - as for the phonebanking - I used to run phone banks for a Democratic campaign in New York State - hated making the calls myself but could crack the whip - hell, I went door to door in campaigns in Canada and the U.S. from 1968 right through till I graduated to volunteer coordinator in the 1990s then moved so far south there were no more democractic campaigns and then bc reared its ugly head but ready to get back in the game - as a matter of fact I am fairly jumping out of my skin this week.....
-
linda - the link didn't work for me.
-
I don't have much to contribute today, but here's a random factoid. Greta Van Susteran's father was best friends with Joseph McCarthy. Her cousin lives around the corner from me

-
Heckuva job, Issa - blowing the CIA's cover in Benghazi because you're trying to embarrass the Obama administration. Trying to create MORE dead diplomats you can use for political purposes?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/dana-milbank-letting-us-in-on-a-secret/2012/10/10/ba3136ca-132b-11e2-ba83-a7a396e6b2a7_story.html?socialreader_check=0&denied=1
"Republicans were aiming to embarrass the Obama administration over State Department security lapses. But they inadvertently caused a different picture to emerge than the one that has been publicly known: that the victims may have been let down not by the State Department but by the CIA. If the CIA was playing such a major role in these events, which was the unmistakable impression left by Wednesday’s hearing, having a televised probe of the matter was absurd."
Kam, DH is from Appleton, WI, hometown of Tailgunner Joe. He has always warned me to never mention that name there -- half the population is mortified that he came from there and half the population think he was great. I never mention it!
L -
Yes, the cousin of Greta's, that I know, comes from Appleton. He is a very extreme liberal. His father was a Judge in Appleton.
Oh wow - just listened to a woman being interviewed by CM outside of the debates - "Obama is not an American and is a Commie." Wow - the spirit of Joseph McCarthy is alive and well!
-
gg: Don't know why the link didn't work but if you go to cbc.ca/news you'll find the article about Pastor Terry Jones being stopped at the border and not allowed into my fair country. He was planning a protest in Toronto.
-
I'm voting a straight Pastrami ticket for Lewing. It's good for the spirit...forget about the body.
Jackie
-
Riley - I can't get these pics into a PM, so I'll just put 'em here.
Ms Boo (my alpha empath cat)

Emma (my feral sweeheart - a real lover) - no, not related!

-
Mary - LOVED the link F bombs and all...
Doesn't greta Van Susern talk weirdly out of the side o fher mouth????
-
Well good on Canada! I don't think that anyone in their right or left mind could condone burning another religion's holy book. God knows what shitstorm Jones would have brought down on Canada.
I hear that Romney's touting his emergency room health care plan. Again. Because ER care is so fiscally and medically efficient and effective for a chronic disease?
I really think that Romney is ignorant of strife, and deprivation, and dealing with life-threatening diversity without a mattress of money to ease his fall. He's speaking from a dearth of experience, I think, not necessarily from a fully informed yet uncaring heart. I am not sure which is worse, presidentially speaking.

Does seem like she might have had Bells Palsey, huh?
-
Pastrami
KITTEHS!
That is all. -
As for exercising, I did 5 miles on the stationary bike and vacuumed, but that's about it for today.
Mary, I saw that link and loved it, F-bombs and all. Actually, I liked the F-bombs to give it a sense of outrage that usually doesn't come through in the written word. JMO, of course.
Speaking of "falling for anything" - my Mom just posted "proof" that Obama's wedding ring has a "hidden message" on it (Allah is great) and posted "NOW do you believe he's a Muslim?" Umm, no Mom, they just look like decorative loops to me. I saw the "proof" with Arabic lettering superimposed on the loops, but when you take that away, they still look like loops to me. What I'm supposed to be seeing just isn't there unless you superimpose it on the photo. *Sigh* I don't blame Mom; she's getting older and forgetful and is VERY easily swayed by whoever is talking loudest. And maybe a touch paranoid and willing to believe conspiracy theories.
Kam, LOVE tuxedo kitties. They're very sweet.
LOL, Scoot! Pastrami and kittehs, indeed!
I was showing Kam MY kittehs:LUCY:

and SWIFFER:
-
Kam love the kitties....Miss Boo has eyes like my ( he's been gone for a long, long time ) Woody. Short for Woodrow Wilson. Quite a guy and many said there was something ( a knowingness ) going on when they looked at him. He was a charmer that knew how to work you. When I was gone to work, he would go two houses down and talk/asked to be petted and get treats from the man who lived there.......and John would later tell me.....when Woody heard my car getting ready to enter into the long drive to our house.......he would take off and run as hard as he could home.........be sitting on the driveway when I got there looking oh so bored but convincing me that he had patiently waited for me to return back home. John and I had many a laugh over it.
Just read the piece about the health care plan before I tuned in here......maybe he should try it out for himself and family.....just so's he could get a little inkling of how well it works. SIGH !!!!!
Jackie

Jackie, Woody was a very smart kitty!
-
linda - thank-you. Went and read the article. Good for Canada - now if only he couldn't have come back here either. I'm with Enjoyful - it is just WRONG to burn any one's holy book.
Enoyful - I also agree with your assessment of Romney (and his wife for that matter). They think they understand the problems people face, as they have definitely faced problems. Breast Cancer (as we all know) is a major problem. Raising 5 boys - problems. MS - big ass problem. But they don't understand the difference between facing major problems when you have a shitload of money and facing problems when you are wondering just how on earth you're going to pay the doctor bills, pay the mortgate, buy oil, buy food, help your kids out (who are even worse off), get to work when you are still feeling like death on a grill, etc..... I don't think they are bad people at all. I just think they are clueless about the regular problems of regular people, which doesn't translate at all well into the President of those same people.

Oh Riley, so beautiful! Is Swifter a Maine coon? I just adopted two cats myself - a Maine coon and a Siamese (Kiki and Mochi). Kiki is my guard kitteh!
Love your cat story, Jackie! Our special pets make life extra fun! -
Hope this works.....a few of my friends....the most prominent kitty is the gray and white one. His name is Beau Freckles: By the way they all put up with their sister...Teeney Weeney who indeed has a training collar on. She outgrew it a couple of weeks after this pic.

Lovely family photo!

Good for Canada. No country should accept a person who is guilty of criminal solicitation.
Sweet litties! Of course, may I remind y'all who rules....

Hi Friends,
I spent the day in North Carolina with my dear friend Brenda. She posts here under the name Naniam. She was admitted to the hospital yesterday because her pain was so out of control. She's really been struggling for over a week.
I was able to be there when the neurosurgeon and the attending doctor talked to her. Hopefully, they can come up with a plan to manage her pain.
It was so hard to see her suffering. It broke my heart.
Gumby ... I'm looking for the "like" button. What you wrote is so true. It's a lot easier to manage a heavy burden when you have a boatload of cash.
Jackie ... Love the family pic!
Please keep Brenda in your thoughts.
hugs,
Bren

Kitty porn! With a cute doggie too. I have Ceiling Cat living with me ...

And orange kitty who showed up on my porch went to the vet today. He is limping because somebody kicked him and injured his pelvis. Will heal itself but I want to go find and kick the sh*t out of whoever did it. Now to try to find him a home. Ceiling cat is not in favor of other cats in her realm. Might have gotten away with it if he was an old cat who would just lay around and not pester her to play but he's only about 3.
-
Gentle (((hugs))) to both Brendas.
-
Ok, I will continue with some big litty porn (while we wait for the debate to start):

-
Kam, how funny that your kitty Emma likes fat men. I bet she LOVES Santa! OR
I found this on Facebook, titled. "I love you, fat cold man!"
E, I don't know either Lucy or Swiffer's heritage. Lucy was born in a feral colony and Swiffer was born in a no-kill shelter after someone dropped her pregnant Mama off. Swiffer's mom was a short-haired cat, mostly white with patches of grey-tiger stripes. So were her 2 siblings. Funny, huh? Lucy was trapped with 2 littermates when she was about 5 wks old and I adopted her when she was about 8 wks old. All of her siblings were also black. Don't know about the long hair, because I had no idea Lucy would be long-haired at 8 weeks! She was just a fluffy kitten.
LUCY AT 8 WEEKS:

Jackie, your kitties are gorgeous! Teeney looks a tad worried, though. Because she's outnumbered by the cats? LOL
Sorry to hear about Naniam, Bren. Breaks your heart to hear about a sister struggling. (((Bren))) (((Naniam)))
WR - It IS Ceiling Cat! Good luck with your orange boy. It really pisses me off to hear of someone mistreating a poor defenseless animal. Pick on someone your own size, you fucking cowards!
-
I know nothing really about Ann Romney so I will not comment.
But I do know immensely rich people who are able to put themselves in others' shoes - and would NEVER, EVER say what Romney said about the 47 percent. They would be shocked at such a sentiment.
Romney doesn't feel for others because he can't - not because he has money. It's an insult to rich people to say otherwise. I do know rich sociopaths, too - and I've come across many a poor and middle-income one as well. I don't think Romney is a sociopath because his intentions are to do his duty. But he has no empathy, so he can only be mechanical about it. He can't really feel. I feel pity for Romney. Always have. The inability to feel has to be the worst deprivation one can think of.
-
Sending deeply caring thoughts for Brenda and Bren. Hoping a good pain solution is eminent.
Love all the pics. I am a very crazy cat lady....not so much by choice. I'd rather not have to care for so many, but that is the way it has worked out. Fortunately for me..........I'm a huge animal lover.
Athena....your more than likely right about Romney having the inability to feel and what deprivation it would make --- truly, I never thought of it quite like that.
Time for me to go make dinner. I'll be checking back a little later.
Jackie

Hey, I have a couple of lovely litties too, but their pics are sitting in my Apple Photoshop and I haven't a clue how to get them over here. HELP!
BTW, I LOVE seeing everyone's pics. Enjoyful, where are yours? (Or maybe you have the same problem as I??)
