Cosmetic things that worked for me - sharing girly stuff

I have the hairs on my chin. I just pluck every few days. If I forget to do so, I will end up with some long whiskers, so I make the effort. 

As for the Touche Eclat, it wears pretty well, though I did put an Illuminator highlighter (Tarte, I think) over it for some shimmer, as I felt like it was sort of chalky.

I am makeup free for the next few days, in an attempt to get my skin to clear up.  I really broke out after one of those foundations, but I guess I won't know which one caused it until I eliminate them all.

I really, really like the shimmery under eye concealers, as they reflect the light off of the dark circles. A little goes a long way, too. 

Some people look so fantastic with foundation.  (i think of my Sunday singer)... i just hate it.. i can feel it on my face and do not like it.  I do wear just a tiny bit of moisterizer and a mineral makeup and a concealer powder on my eye corners.  over the concealer.

I went to the look good feel good class and was amazed how much foundation everyone put on. 

I really do like my white shimmery eye pencil.. got it from my daughter.. I think i bought my own.

Apple, what is the name and brand of the shimmery  white eye pencil?  Still waiting for pics of your new eyes.  :-)

someone asked about laser hair removal.  Yes it only works on dark hair not blonde or gray.  About 10 years ago I did my bikini area and love it.  No more ingrown hairs caused from shaving.  I am currently doing my underarms as I have a hard time shaving since my BMX.  My underarms just do not lay flat like they used to and I have a hard time in parts of my underarm.  Will be nice to never shave under my arms again.

well, bobby and i finally married on saturday. will share pics as soon as possible but for one thing, i am computer retarded and have no clue how to put out pics online.  also, we need to get permission to share the pics.  there are a few naked people we need to get releases from.  thanks to all of you i look pretty cute in my 57 year old, being treated for breast cancer way and would love to share how unhorrible i look in the pics.  the wedding went great. we had an arabian nights theme.  i wore a 200nyear old simple white wedding gown with a hip scarf.  bobby wore a turban. during our first dance we had some little girls dancing a super simple belly dance.  right as we ended with a shimmy the professional belly dancer came in.  it was awesome.  we had dancing, pinatas bot for adults and kids[ the kids were off on a treasure hunt when the adult pinata was played.  we used pull ribbon pinatas which kept the contents[ small shot bottles, lottery tickets, um, cock rings, and wrapped chocolate truffles]from breaking. 

anyway, befor finding this thread I was so depressed about many things, one of them, probably the least, being my physical appearance.  I am bloated, breastless, the drugs have done horriblw things to my skin, gained 30 pounds, i kept my hair somewhat which means i have about 17 pieces of straw sticking out of my head, muscle tone is gone.

then i found this thread.  i wear cute hats and wigs [LOVE my wedding wig]my husband bought me the nu brilliance skin system and the neutrogena microdermabrasion system.[ i soak all of the solution out of the pads and use my own skincare that contains no paraben]  i started working out[5 pound versus 25 pound weights] and started wearing makeup, got my straw hair cut short.have lost 5 pounds and am finally doing better.  thank you ladies so much for your inspiration. when i can figure out how to send pictures i will. just remember that i am 57 and was never a real hottie,

Vicky, so glad you are getting your groove back. Be patient. 6 months ago, I was where you were. I felt about 120 years old and could barely make it up one flight of stairs, no hair, no brows, no lashes and TIRED. Then I got a bit of hair and a decent cut, some nice clothes and got back into the gym. 3 months of steady light gym work has done wonders. I feel so much stronger now and the hair has finally grown enough that it just looks like a normal hair cut, short but normal. Hang in there. It WILL get better if you stick with the exercise etc. and it is definitely good for morale to primp a bit.

My most recent find [3hours ago] is L'oreal true match healthy luminous makeup and the primer.  i am in love with this makeup.  it is not too pricey and makes my dull complexion look dewy, fresh, and screams HEALTHY.  i love it. my most exciting singular makeup find EVER.

Is this the thread where someone mentioned cute, inexpensive, prescription eyeglasses online? Can't remember (chemo brain!)...

Blessings - Very interesting on the Zenni Optical. Do you have any trouble with the frame fit?  Don't know if my optometrist would adjust them for me. I see your #5 hint above. I'll give it a try. Like I said, I probably have 20 pairs of glasses, in all different colors.

When I was working, I had vision insurance, but even then, the cost of one pair of glasses at the optometrist's was almost $200. After I retired, I paid over $500 for the same glasses!!!!

Then I found Zenni.

I love my prescription (bifocal) sunglasses. I wear them every day. The ones I have are several years old and are in the same great condition as the day I got them. Can't wait to get some new ones in different colors!

Lots of my friends get their kids glasses here, because they're always breaking them or losing them.
