Hugs to all - sounds like EVERYBODY needs one!!!
fuzzy - she does have nerves of steel - she is really like a guy in a beautiful girl suit! She always claims that the guys she dates cry too much, she won a fishing tournament in June, drives a pick-up truck, and you should see her target when she comes home from the gun range! Sheesh!
Just had a thought - how much fun would it be to rent out the gun range to a bunch of women who have or had breast cancer, make some kind of pink BC target, give everyone a gun and let 'em have at those targets! Something about killing all those BC targets would be very satisfying. Years ago when I was in the Officers' Wives' Club at one of the bases DH was stationed at they had an activities sign-up at the monthly afternoon tea. Keep in mind this is like a dress up event, some even wore hats! They had sign-ups for cooking, crafts, outings, etc. but the table with the most sign-ups was to go to the outdoor gun range with shotguns and blow the smithereens out of clay pigeons. It was pretty awesome!
-
you betta keep the guns away from me....i capable of killing....bet on it.
Foctober stinks and if anyone says anything about my foctober tee shirt they betta be ready for me...Im gonna wear it proudly!!!!!!!!
-
Special...I love your daughter!!! WHOOT WHOOT!! YOU GO GIRL!! Nice job, Mama.
Granny...I totally believe you would kill...you've got my respect! I could do it too. No question about it...
I love the idea of target practice!! Hell YA!!!
-
grannydukes - no guns for you, lol! I agree, Foctober does stink. I was dx'ed on 9/27 just in time for it - I hate it with a passion. DH and I went to the Farmer's Market this morning and there was a Ford Warriors in Pink table. he had to steer me away from it because I was on my way to go ask them 50 questions about where their money goes!!!
My DS is a fireman and this catalog came in the mail today. There was a bunch of pink stuff but I thought this item might be the best:
-
OMG. I'm sure during the blaze battle everyone is thinking "awareness"...
-
gotta stop that pink shit this year.one sista at a time.....please everyone do your part.....
we will get nowhere if we let this continue
get the word out....without a gun!!!!

I did a ditsy thing today: I forgot to go to class. It was the first Saturday class, and I totally forgot about it. I went into a total panic, but I did manage to get contact information for the teacher and to make contact with another student who did go to the class. Then I ended up helping him for a couple hours. The poor guy is really struggling with this stuff. It was helpful to me to explain to him how to do things. It makes the process more clear in my mind.
I took pain meds today, and now I feel all . . . pleasant. Maybe I should stay up a while longer to enjoy it.
My town's festival is tomorrow. I have never been before, and I cannot imagine where people park. I was going to go, but I just don't know. It's no fun going places when you don't have any money to spend. I'm sure not paying to park my car. There's a park-and-ride between here and there. Perhaps I could park there and walk. Yes. Perhaps I could do that. I could take my camera in case there is a photo opportunity. Maybe I could take a picture that a paper would pay for. Dreaming, I know, but hey, it would be quite a coup!
-
GO FOR IT DUNES!! Glad your feeling pleasant!! LOL I love how you wrote that.
Special...I would love to see you in action at one of those tables....I may have to follow your lead on this. Bunch of horse shit....gimme that gun.
-
You go Dunes......every day could be an opportunity.
Ill be prayiin something good happens for you
let us know!!!!!we care....

Hoping for good moments for everyone. Having a visit with a bff this weekend and its nice but forgot how busy her place is when both teenage girls are home. So, nice but not relaxing. And have a wicked new pain in my hip/back that started a couple hours ago and is makin me want to climb the walls.
Dunes the festival sounds fun i love those sorts of things. Hope you do go and have some fun:-) -
Rider....howdy!!! Have a great time!!! Take it easy on your back though...maybe put a little alcohol on it (wink wink)...
-
Not sleeping. Just saying. LOL. Finally, I took 2 xanax and am hoping I will get to sleep before the sun comes up. I was hoping the pain meds would give me a decent night sleep. Last night I had trouble sleeping because of pain. However, I think the pain meds, though they can cause me to nod off, actually inhibit sleep for me. Oh well. My mom apparently has this problem a lot. She just turns on the light and reads for a while. I'm just doing my reading on the computer. I saved a lot of recipes. LOL
-
I had a hard time staying asleep last night. I should have popped a pill but I was too lazy. I had nightmares when I did sleep. Hope today gets better.
-
Ya'll, I'm telling you, I thought my car wreck was bad, but your stories about highway misfortunes REALLY are amazing. If not for snow, I think golf carts within city limits would be good, and trains from city to city. And I want me another garden, and if I ever have the cash I want a windmill and some solar panels. I imagine that is our futures one day.
Veggy, I think your boob attack is indeed related to what Fuzzy was talking about, a skin scar type issue. And I did want to say, Special K, I'd freak out if it were my eye turning red, you are so reasonable. And sweet Nancynow, I am so sad that you feel depressed, you have been thru a lot this year. All of our hands are reaching out to you, to help pull you out of that dark and scary place.
Fuzzy, you know what, I DO want to help rearrange someone's landscape. You know, I got a bunch of bushes that need trimming around the place, reckon I should take a chain saw to it. And somebody here said all the BC girls should be allowed to blast at a pink target, and OUR group would chip in on a rocket launcher, to where I'll bet the firing range people would say, "I don't think we've ever seen a target get vaporized quite like that." Upset-tudeness, raging rompers, all of us want to get in on some action. That's the thing, to hell with finding calm, beauty, and solace. Every time I go to a hamburger joint, after I swill down the last of my soda, I shall forevermore with great violence twist and gnash that cup into shreds, stomp it into the size of a dime, and leave it smoking on my table.
Anybody ever seen that movie of performances by the "Stomp and Drum" group (or SOMEthing like that), where they make quite the syncronized racket and banging around? LOVE that stuff. In the warmer months, our town has the Friday night (or Sat) drumming circle right smack in the middle of town, many hundreds gather, to listen and watch every kinda drum outfit get beat to a pulp. I'll bet those drummers are the sweetest people around.
I hope, Dune, that you do go to your town's festival, maybe there will be a piece of art you'll like, or a noisy band, or an old friend will invite thee to walk with them awhile. I think your disease has left you, just as I think mine has, how fortunate I feel all the time, but it hasn't always been that way. I was a mighty sufferer whilst they attacked my boob with WMD (weapons of mass desruction). But somehow, somewhere, I left it behind. Oh, my pains from my back situation have always been with me, and the older I get, the worse it gets, but the cancer, I said goodbye sometime this summer. I'm to get a CT scan and then see my doc in early October, and should he find me NED, why, that will be close enough to the two-year mark that I can well and truly eff-off the whole wretched thing. But then again, who the heck am I kidding? Always, GG

Hi all!
Veggy, that sounds awful. I hope this round of antibiotics helps. I can only imagine how painful it must be, emotionally and physically.
SpecialK, that's a scary thing about your eye. I had no idea a plane ride could cause that. Sheesh.
Essa, Rolled three times? Geez, I'm so glad to read your daughter is o.k. You must have been freaking out.
dogeyed, I saw "Stomp" a couple of times. They're as much fun to watch as they are to hear. We have these street performers downtown that do the most amazing things with a couple of pails and drumsticks. I always get a kick out of watching what they can do with a few objects.
Rider, enjoy your visit with your BFF. Sorry you have to be in pain while you do it. Is the pain from your mets? I hate those nasty "mets" pains....they're horrible.
grannydukes, I hear ya. I couldn't bear to go shopping during "pink" season. A gun would be nice....a rocket launcher would be better!
Sounds like everyone could use an extra hug today.
Ed: upon further considertion, removed my irrelevant bitching
-
Morning ladies hope everyone finds something to smile about today. I need to go buy some jeans that fit today but not sure i will even be able to get dressed once. Bffs daughter had to help me out of bed this morning. Bff has fybromyalgia and is not well medicated so her and i are quite a useless pair. And yes i suppose the pain is from mets it would be in the right place, and it hurts like hell.
-
Are you ready for this.....I was in Bed, Bath, and Beyond................F/N PINK TIC TACS............................yea you heard me right.........................................I said to the cashier.....................are you friggin kidding me............and you people have the nerve to display those...................I then asked for the manager................and said to him.............not sure if you have anyone who has ever suffered the effects of BC, but let me clue you in.......................FRIGHT, BIOPSIES, MAMMOGRAMS, ULTRASOUND, SURGERY, CHEMO DRUGS, BALD, ACHES, PAINS, LYMPHEDEMA, AND THE FEAR OF RECURRANCE, CAN NOT BE CURED WITH A "BREATH MINT"................STOP INSULTING US, AND REMOVE THAT DISPLAY..................he took each one from the check out lines............................gotta love that guy......................he apologized for the "insensitivity of people"....................guess I was having a bad day......................but for a change it was "1" for BC"......."none for advertisment".......................yeah.
-
Dunes & Veggy...throwing some good zzzzzzzzz's your way.
GG: LOL! We're going to have to develop our own "key" for the RR....I love WMD!!! hahaaahaaa!!! Smash those cups, baby!!! Give em hell!! Wahahaaa!! I seriously feel "healthier" being angry than I do being depressed....
My Neighbor with the landscaping that I'd like to take aggression out on....yeah...his yard is perfect. LOL
Gracie....isn't that the WORST!!! I've never heard of another IV being crappy to another...that's pretty shitty. I'm sorry. But, you are royalty here my friend!! This is a No Horse Shit Zone!! I've been beat up on a few threads....not cool. I've wondered how many sisters just leave the boards because of that treatment. We almost lost Nancy that way!!!! Don't even want to think about that...too painful. I'm territorial with my family. So, you're safe here, mama. Come here and give me a hug.
Rider....I've got a reason to smile today!!!! My DH was in an unusually great mood this morning, gives me a big hug....and says, "Happy Anniversary!" OMG! I had no idea! Six years today. Last year added like...two decades I think! We've been together for 15 years. This is officially my longest marriage! LOL -
Wow that is awesome fuzzy!! Thats a really good reason to smile...
-
dune, i read that the light emitted from the computer screen is the type that signals your body to wake up. not a good idea if sleepless. They reccommended that we should shut our computers down an hour before bed and start dimming other lights to signal our bodies that it is time to sleep. i hope tonight is better.
-
Ducky----sista/friend do you know how much I love ya?????
you have the guts of a lion....good for you!!!!!!

-
Hey Granny ..........your right................for once I remained a "lady"..............lol. love ya more................
-
I did not go to the festival. I would have if I could have gone with someone or a group of people. I put feelers out but none produced results. I did get to Petsmart and Ollie's. My neighbor said Ollie's had caulk for a good price, and since I will be caulking the windows on my porch before winter hits, I figured I might as well do that. I also bought carry-out food: a gyro and some baklava from a real Greek place. I helped Dave from class again, and he said I really taught him a few things. I went back and did cyber labs 1 through 5 over again. I managed to do that in about an hour. It used to take an hour to do one lab. With practice I am improving a lot. I stewed some apples and added some blueberries to it. I didn't do the usual apple stewing my mom always does. I was naughty, but I was really wanting sweets (as evidenced by the baklava). Today has actually been the first day I really ate sugar since the diagnosis in February. Anyway, I used butter, sugar (half of what the recipe called for), cinnamon, and nutmeg. Then just for kicks I added some vanilla extract. What a treat!!! I have lots more, so I guess I know what I'm eating for breakfast. I'm going to do something with mushrooms for dinner tomorrow. I have a couple of different kinds so that should be tasty.
I'll be walking the neighborhood looking for code violations to report and well-maintained back yards to post as encouragement to others to take good care of their property. This is Donna and my regular Monday walk. We get a lot of people with trash uncovered and not even in cans -- and trash does not get collected until Wednesday morning. Again, I hate being code nazis; but I hate rats even more.
I may try to do some prep work for the paint job my kitchen needs. I feel like I have a lot better freedom of movement with the TE out. I'll just take it easy.
I brought my text book up to read before sleeping, but I think I may be getting too sleepy to be able to read it.
Oh! I wore my new bra today -- and it actually gave me some cleavage. Pretty cool, huh?

Sounds like you had a pretty good day dunes :-)
