Yay for Leahlee. I know, I just know, you've been happy dancing your way through this day, at least since you got that fantastic news! I am so happy for you. OMG! I can just imagine the relief! Yippeeeee!
-
LeahLee - HOLY COW!! OMG!! You better be partying girl!!!! That's fantastic news!! I'm all goosebumped and so very happy for you. Wow. What an emotional rollercoaster! Incredible.
Going to have to see what kind of memories I can stir up for ya all....for my girls I always think of Barney...we knew every song and every dance that went with em! When I was a kid...I could not miss the MUPPET SHOW and Seasame Street...I became a very irritated little girl if I missed those!! LOL
Special...oh you have some lovely sugar coated yummies....
-
My man....ANIMAL!!!
Oh my...
Was this a kid's show?
-
Ginger...I'm curious to know if it's your BP. It can really mess with ya. Let me know what you find out.
Gotta get up early tomorrow for my shrink's....so night night everyone!! Dream sweet. Hmmm...sugar coated ______ (your choice).
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox xoxoxox(extra hugs and kisses for SKK and everyone's cat's, dogs, skunks, horses, possums, birds and all our little companions).

Went to bed too early, was like a power nap then up at 12:30 am. ugh. I know I was supposed to pee and go back to sleep, but came out to find out the time and ended up seeing the computer, wondering about all you. Read four pages, I think.
CHH - what helped was much later - What did not help was that I needed to not be seen as a diseased breast. Cancer is systemic and they were only looking at the one breast. I needed the PET CT scan from beginning, not a year later. What helped was a book that is good for both alternative choices and conventional tx, called Outsmart Your Cancer. My doctor recommended, the doc I like. What helped was people who listened to my plans and did not judge or say to me I was going to die if I didn't do it the other way. My sister calling to see how I was doing, really doing, she would say. My daughter bringing me back to feelings, she said you always talk about the technical, medical, but you don't say how you really are feelings, what it is really like, I want to know.
GG- here is your other sugar coated guy, we have some Clooney, so here is RR--- I thought he was great in Horse Whisperer.

Meryl Streep - do not watch Sophie's Choice, it is too harsh, if you have never seen it, not a feel good movie. I loved her in House of the Spirits. Mama Mia.
I am a Diane Keaton fan. Something's Gotta Give, for one. Need to relive stress, (edited to fix typo, not relive, is relieve, but these are all movies about stress we have all been through, now in a way to make us laugh) laugh some, watch First Wives Club --- Something's Gotta Give --- Baby Boom, de-stressors.

You know I wanted to see The Words when it came out on Sunday, told Hubby, I want to see that on the first day. I never say that, and we both forgot. Next weekend I guess.
LeahLee - I am so happy the path was benign, so happy. I remember when you were first on the thread 'breast cancer symptoms: a comprehensive list' or was it 'does breast cancer hurt', sorry, I forget.... it is good that you stayed and found people to share your walk with in the diagnosis and stresses and fears.
Took Danny Boy to flea market yesterday. Could walk through in 45 minutes, shopping, but to talk and for everyone to pet him, it takes four hours through, it is his personal petting zoo. He loves it, all the people making over him.
Back to bed.

HAPPY DAY FOR LEAH !!!!! If I could do a handstand, I would ! I am so glad cancer passed you by, but being scared is no different. I hope you can recover soon and love life, it's always good as new.
LOVESSA, thank you SO much for putting my fav Robert Redford's picture! And yah, Keaton is good, really liked "Baby Boom" so much, and also liked her in "Reds." And I could picture you and your Newfie at that market, those dogs are so sweet-looking to be so extra large!
ALL, my brother and I would get up early and watch the test pattern on the TV set, waiting for our shows to start, I think Romper Room was first up. The cabinet had two doors, and one kept sticking, until just as my mother thought would happen, she got up and came thru the living room and we were watching the TV with just one door open. Also remember Captain Kangaroo and the cartoon Mighty Mouse. Then later in day was the Mickey Mouse Club, M-i-c...see you real soon, k-e-y...why, because we love you! M-o-u-s-e, Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mouse!
Today is the 11th anniversary of 9/11 and I shall watch the NYC ceremonies on TV, they start about 8:30 a.m. First plane hit North Tower about 8:45 and South Tower about 9:00 a.m. I was on my way to work and could not believe what I was hearing on the radio. Just prior to that, I was talking to my mother on the phone, I told her to turn on the TV because I had glimpsed the smoke coming off the North Tower, not realizing what happened. And as is our custom, we shall be talking on the phone again today, and we will remember together. My two great grandfathers were Police Chief and Sheriff, my grandfather with the fire company, but of course in another town down here in the South. But I SO admire all those types of men, the courage to do the things they do. May today be peaceful, the only thing our modern America ever wants. GG

Today I am going for a massage. Its free! Its been a long time since I have been there and I need one! I think everyone just got into my pocket.
-
I remember where too - I had set up my antiques in the middle of an outdoor flea market in Shipshewana. People started to talk, people left, even most vendors. A newbie on block, no one told me. And very naive since I heard sirens on the streets outside of the huge market. Eventually, I had a hint of the trouble, so upset I left all my things at the market at 1 p.m. and the streets were desolate....

Having trouble today digesting that Ryan Reynolds married Blake Lively. Gawd that man has horrible taste in women. Such a handsome, sweet, funny man and he just keeps seeking out the "skank" in Hollywood. It was so funny....my husband and son heard it on the car radio, walked in the house and said "You tell her....no you tell her...no I'm not telling her". Kinda cute that they knew exactly how I'd react.

I am here in Washington D.C. for the vaccine trial and it is strange to be here on Sept. 11th. We lived here in 2001 and my husband was inside the Pentagon when it was hit. Our neighborhood was heavily military and federal civil service - we lost two neighbors, one we knew well, and had a number of injured. My DH was about 150 yards down the hall from the impact, but deeper into the building. I didn't see him until about 4 p.m. Later that evening a bunch of us were outside talking and Air Force One with a fighter escort flew right over our heads in that very quiet sky, all other planes were grounded. We all just looked up and then at each other in utter disbelief at the events of the day. I am staying with my son while here and he is a fireman. He was at the fire station for the night last night so his girlfriend and I went over to visit since I had never been there. I have always been proud of him, but seeing him there in his uniform around all the fire equipment, I was happy to see him less as my little boy and more as the man he has grown up to be. I am not a fan of tattoos but he has one in the middle of his back that he got when he was 18, he designed it, it is a pentagon shape with twin towers as the eleven in 9/11/01, with a red, whte and blue fire helmet at the bottom. It just says "Remember" underneath. My heart squeezes a little every time I see it.

Wow, you guys!!! Thank you so much, I am gonna go back and read it all, hey did I see Kevin Costner??!!
oh yeah, I've been dancing, me and my DH, feel like we won the lottery!!
I've got some catching up to do here! But first I've got at least one chapter to read in this psych book!
Thanks to you alll, and Fuzzy girl, you're the best!
-
I watched Miss Francis and Ding Dong Room, Howdy Doody and later Mickey Mouse Club and then of course Bandstand! I saw Cher on there for her first apprearance.
We didn't have a tv until 1950 when I was 5. Before that we lived with other people because there wasn't enough housing after WW II. ONe lady had a TV and I had to wait until this lady Kate SMith sang "when the moon comes over the mountain" for Howdy Doody to come on.

LeahLee....I pale in comparison doll! You made the whole room happy!! You've got lots of love!!
9/11 I was at work and a customer told me a plane hit and I didn't believe her...so I got a radio and listened as the second plane hit...and so on. I wanted my girls next to me instantly. But, the schools went into lockdown...no one in, no one out. I sat outside for hours staring at the empty silenced skies. I felt helpless and wanted my girls to be safe with me. Finally, I could pick them up and focus on the tragedy...but until they were with me, I couldn't think of anything else....they were so young at the time...
So...I grew up with a few children's shows but I also had a darker side! Muhaha....Twilight Zone!!! Loved it!! MASH was another one...The Mandrell Sisters, HeeHaw!!
My mom and her sister would sneak me and my brother into the drive in....super twisted because they liked horror movies!! I was too young to be watching Jaws, Piranha, Attack of the Killer ______ (all of them). I was constantly freaked out!! LOL
Shrinks went good today. Got a plan for my sleeping issues...so I'm kinda geeked up about that!! -
Benny Hill!! OMG...how could I leave THAT one out!
-
The biggest horror story was 9/11.....Not only was i there i was stuck there....my daughter swears thats how i got the bc...walked 10 blocks to the Staten Island ferry with a piece of wet paper towel over my face.As soon as i got on the ferry(with my coworkers) i was handed out a life jacket...scared the shit out of me.I got on the last boat out.On the ferry people were hysterical..I kept on thinkin this was just a bad dream while i put 1 foot in front of the other and went.
enuf...im gettin teary eyed....
thanks for lettin me vent...today is a very sad day.

It was a weird day- not as much about 9/11 in my opinion as in years past. Definitely remember that day.
FINALLY got back my skin biopsy reports. Yesterday was meltdown day as I had called & didn't get a call back about them- I just knew that since it had been so long it was something that needed follow up. So I called again today & told them to PLEASE call me as I needed to know something, anything.
Good news is it's NOT cancer. Bad news is it's another 'atypical mole' (I had one before) on 2 of the 4 sites. That means 2 visits a week apart to dig out the area around the mole & get stitches. I have a one inch scar from a few years ago (prior to breast cancer). Guess I'll have the frankenstine look complete now- 3 one inch scars- foobs-.
Cancer survivorship is bizarre huh? Years ago when I had the first mole thing surgically taken out like they will do these- I cried, freaked out etc. Now I am just relieved it's not cancer. I do get queasy thinking about the procedures- you'd think after all I'd been through (3 surgeries- a year of chemo- diagnostic tests etc etc) that it'd be no big deal. (What's a little more pain and torture? dripping sarcasm here!!). I had a filling today too- just love that dentist drill (uggh).
Glad that I don't have skin cancer- bummed I get two more OP surgery and scars and pain coming my way. Over two weeks to get biopsy results about made me lose what little sanity I had left- anxiety attack- meltdown- embarrassing.
CANCER SUCKS! I HATE IT! Ok- Now I am zen- imagining the romper room lady w/ the magnifying glass "I see Jimmy and Sally, etc etc). Ok- Silly. Rant over.
ROMP on!
-
Lisa i think id be ranting too. Really glad for you that its benign but still the procedures you describr dont sound any fun either. Best of luck with them tho hope its as simple as possible for you.
-
LISA HAVE A CHAT WITH sPECIALkShe's the pro about skin cancers
SkecialK That must of been a hard day today. And way back when. But to be with your DS. Knowing what both he and your DH have /are giving to their country. Pretty special. Still think of getting that tin to you about Candy man.

I was in the 5th grade when the older couple next door got TV. only one station and I think it was new to Spokane. Grama H would invite us in occasionally to watch Howdy Dodie and Cowboy Cliff, a local kids show. I knew he was no cowboy because my cousins in ND were real ones, ranchers. We moved away summer after the fifth grade and didn't get a TV until I was in the 8th grade, the only kids show I watched then was The Mickey Mouse Club.
When I was in the fifth through the eighth grades, our grade school chorus preformed parts of their Christmas pageant on Cowboy Cliff's program. I can't carry a tune so I wasn't allowed to sing but I was always very good at dramatic readings (majored in Theater in collage) so I was always narrator for the Christmas program. While I was in College the program was canceled and he went to work for my Mother selling World Book.
Anyone here remember the old kids programs on the radio? I used to love No School for Today. And then there were Sargent Preston of the Yukon, Bobby Benson and the B Bar B Riders, Skyking, and Straight Arrow.
-
Lisa, when I was a kid Bandstand was on every afternoon after school. Later I think it went to Sat AM, I think that was when it wasn't so wildly popular any longer. If I have that all wrong please correct me.

SASSY, Teresa Tucson was in the midst of selling her house, they were going thru showings when she was posting before. So, she probably logged on a month after she last posted probably when her machine was packed up for the movers, which Aug 20 was just three weeks ago, so hopefully she'll get settled and back on here before too much longer.
Special K and Granny, those were SOME stories you all had about 9/11.
Today I go get my "extra strength" pills, but am going to put off going back to the car place, they want to put some rear light "assemblage" on my car and inspect it, and I just am not up for it today. Also am putting off a couple phone calls. The satellite man is coming this afternoon. So, I'll take care of that other crap tomorrow or Friday. GG
-
Ugh. I need a reason to get out of bed. I guess I will just settle for a cup of coffee and see how it goes from there.
-
Today started out nice. Me and my guys woke up late. I needed sleep. We made pancakes from scratch (regular, blueberry and cinnamon chocolate chip pancakes) and some cheap sausages. I threw a load of clothes in the wash and did a huge stack of dishes. Now I am sitting down with a cup of coffee and reading eveyone's comments. Today might actually be a good day. The first one in a loooooong time.
