Congratulations Kara, I am right behind you...#22 today & then 3 more.   I finish on Tuesday.   No news on my chest xray yet but Onc. does not seem to be too concerned, just cautious.

Last week was pretty good but yesterday knocked the stuffing out of me....I was bone weary.

Hi All.  I am still here too on the podium eagerly awaiting the company of all of the rest of you!  2.5 weeks post-rad now.  Skin is peeling and "normal" color skin is appearing beneath.  Still a bit sore.  Energy could be better but improving.  On a biz trip now so putting it all to the test :-)

Kara: Congrats on finishing!  I'm not far behind you.  My last boost is on Monday.  So looking forward to it Laughing

onvacation: So happy you'll be done tomorrow.  I think Karen will be joining you on the podium, and I'll be cheering for both of you.

Belinda:  Looks like you'll be finishing with me tomorrow.  Yippee for us!

Graced:  Thanks for the post rads report.  I'm looking forward to having my normal skin color back on my breast.  I hope your business trip is a huge success, and includes some good food.

3 more treatments for me...today I was fine, no fatigue & my chest xray was clear...no problems...how good is that?  You will hear the (Isa)belles ring.    I love the company.

Hi everyone. I stopped following the boards once chemo was done, and now I'm six treatments away from finishing my 33 rads. Yesterday was my first boost. I'm finding that I'm having some sharp pain right in the target zone - enough to make me uncomfortable. Ive taken a couple Tylenol, but nothing yet. Has anyone else had this experience? Also, my fatigue seems bad, but I'm always worried that's all in my head. I did have chemo, though, so maybe it's to be expected?

    Would love your insights.

    Annie

Annie I was told sharp pains can be the nerves regenerating. I had a few, not bad though. I finished rads two weeks ago. I never did peel, all but the boost area almost back to normal color.

We are on the podium cheering you on to the finish line! I know several are finishing today and Isabelle early next week. It doesn't sound like anyone has had severe skin issues. Yay!

Picked up tomoxifen yesterday. I guess I'll have to take one today, hopefully starting is the most difficult part.

    Happy Friday to all!

Annie, I get those sharp pains too, like little electric shocks, not bad enough to take anything.   I was also told they are part of the healing.   #23/25 rad today & I will be up there with the others.

Home from rad #23  & this one knocked the stuffing out of me...seems as after every few of them one has that effect.  Could hardly walk to the car but I am almost finished...Mon. & Tues.    Hi julz, haven't seen you here in ages.

Hi Isabelle,  I've been reading when I have time from work.  My boys are back in school & they are both sick.  Just don't feel like posting much.  I hope you can get some rest & you will perk back up.

I'm watching the Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser on TV now. I just made a donation online.  It wasn't an easy decision, since so much of my money is going to my treatment this year, but I hope we can find a way to stop this disease before too many other people die.  It's easy to donate online, and every bit helps.

Yep!  I am doing the happy dance with you, Kim.  Tab55:  We will be doing an encore performance for you on Monday.

This has been quite an emotional day for me:  I would say I have broken down and cried at least 10 times.  I was bawling like a baby with my son on the phone (I guess I am practicing for next Saturday's wedding, eh?)  The tears just kept on flowing--from Starbucks (where I received free coffee) to the RO's office, getting hugs from everyone....  Rough, but VERY special day.  Got a one hour massage and a 2 hour facial, and yes, worked the entire day!   I am ready to start LIVING!!!!  BRING IT ON!

Also the rads can inflame the surgical area. I had pain as well and a little swelling on my higher rib area near my sternum. It came and went. Still does once in a while now. The doctor said that was pretty common.

It's awesome to see so many of you so close to the end of the treatments. We're up here on the podium waiting to do the happy dance!

Rads completed on 8/20/12 (18 days post rads)

Karen and Kim - Welcome to the post rads club.  It's a great place to be.

Karen - I so agree with your comment about it now being the time to start living again.  Your first big post rads event, the wedding, will be a very emotional time.  I have such fond memories of my two sons' weddings last year.  Enjoy every minute.

TAB55 and Isabelle - I'm so glad that you will be joining us early next week.

I had my two week checkup with my RO and MO on Wednesday.  All went well.  Got my Rx for Arimidex (anastrozole).  It should arrive from my prescription mail order service next week.  My birthday in next Wed. (Sept. 12) so I will start the day after.  NO MORE MEDICAL STUFF UNTIL MY MAMMO IN LATE NOVEMBER!!!!

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Karen, I agree, time to start living again!  Next weekend I am heading to Tampa to hang out for a long weekend.  I find the ocean so calming, so really looking forward to it!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Barb:  It's so good that you don't have any appointments until November!  That great news!

I got to swim with the dolphins as my belated rads-ending celebration. It was great!
