Thanks everyone!  I feel so relieved and it felt so great to move on in my thinking.  I took the whole long weekend to enjoy some time with the kids before school and schedules get really crazy.

Sunday I brushed my hair differently so it kind of stood up.  Obviously it was noticably different because my teenage son (who rarely comments on such things) said 'you need to dye your hair brown'.  I was thinking the same thing, but am nervous that I will be one of the ones to end up with orange hair.  I'm thinking I'll start with a temporary coloring just in case.  I wasn't very gray before chemo, so it is strange to look in the mirror and look considerably older in just 6 months.

Mine is getting dyed on Thursday by my hairdresser.  It's a temporary rinse, but I don't trust myself to do it.  My hair came back salt/pepper with more pepper as opposed to brownish/red it was.

I am grey on gray. Red with gray before. I look like Sgt Carter for those of us old enough to recall Gomer Pyle. Will dye when it gets longer.

Karen - please let us know how it turns out!

Stacie - I definitely remember Gomer Pyle!  Are you going to stick with the grey on gray?  It looks really good on some people.

Speaking of hair--- mine is at a point that I have done away with my scarf!!! It's still very, very short but after having none at all even this short works for me. I still get some stares but I really feel its their problem not mine.

Question - is anyone concerned about a connection with dying their hair and cancer? I remember years ago a friend who's husband was an OC would not let his wife dye her hair. Any thoughts?

Hello all! I'm four months past chemo, still on Herceptin every 3 weeks. I too have just enough hair that I think I can ditch the wigs. However, I'm very gray too. Totally not fair. I've been looking into coloring it, but wanted to use something less toxic. I've looked up everything on the web, so far I've found Palette by Nature and am thinking of trying it. Anyone else find anything out there and have loved?

    Best to you all!

I'm so glad the hair questions have surfaced as my hair begins to surface.  I've probably got enough to go topless, just not brave enough!  However.., it's plain to see what's coming back in in the areas that are visible even with a wig or scarf, such as sideburns, are coming in more grey than blonde.  Not sure what to do.., any suggestions???

Karen~ I'm very interested to hear how it went and what your hairdresser has to say.  Is s/he experienced with post chemo/cancer hair or does she just feel "safe" with the rinse out?

Januaryice~ Good for you for ditching the wig!  I wish I had your chutzpah!  I haven't heard anything about the hair dye/cancer connection but am interested in what others have to say.  What's an "OC" btw??

Yvyc~  I'm curious too!  Not sure which route to take with covering the grey.

    All~ help!  Laughing

C-squared- actually it was suppose to be ONC, guess I still have chemo brain!

It's been great not wearing my scarf. Some people still do a double take but I really feel its their problem not mine. Also interested in replies about coloring our hair.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! FYI only 9 more rads to go!!!!!:())))))))

Yes, I got my hair colored yesterday.  She was SHOCKED at home much is has grown.  I have a full, thick head of hair (albeit VERY short!).  Anyway she used an amonia-free color.  She said I will probably have to get it colored every 3-4 weeks, depending on how fast it grows.  I love it and have gotten a ton of compliments on it.  It looks like a regular hairstyle, instead of a chemo grow out.

January:  less than 2 weeks for you!  Way to go!
