kjliberty- Love your hair!!!!! It is looking great!!!!
-
Thanks Melrose! That was 2 weeks ago. It's grown more since then!
-
Wow!!!! You are my inspiration for hair growth!!!!
-
kjliberty - yes indeed, I agree with Mel. Those are some mighty hair follicles! Yay!
-
I like your avatar too, dance. I wish I could have done the cold cap thing. Just couldn't handle the cold temps!
Melrose:
Thank you!
-
It has been rather liberating for me to gone from waist length hair to super super short short hair in less than a year. Nothing like getting a do-over with hair and starting over. I find it rather interesting to know as an adult what it is like to have one's hair grow from the beginning.... just like a baby. You know when we were babies, we had no idea or clue what hair was or how it felt to touch it or even knew what it was.
-
I agree Melrose, I am looking forward to seeing what color mine will be and if it will be curly or straight. Right now it is dirty blonde and growing straight - straight up! LOL
-
I have some back hairs that are standing straight up like Alfalfa!
-
Thanks kjliberty. The only reason I put that pic up is for any newbies who don't know about the caps and might be willing to suffer the cold! LOL I post a lot so it's a good way to spread the word.

I went today to get my driver's license renewed in person. I had renewed enough times on line that I had to go in person. Of course, I had to get a new pic!!!! Now the State of Texas has an official pic of me PFC and I have a paper copy of it!!!! I had to fill out an extra form about medical conditions and told the woman at the driver's license bureau that I was recovering from breast cancer chemo. She was really sweet and kind and asked me if I minded removing my hat to have my picture taken. I whipped off that hat and smiled for the camera!!! So in a few weeks, I will have a picture to remember how I looked 7 weeks PFC to carry in my wallet and show everyone who asks to see my license. I'm hoping that my hair will be longer by the time I receive my new license!!!!
-
Melrose: You go, girl!
-
Melrose- LOL I have the opposite as my picture has lots of hair and I always feel I must explain that I have chemo. Like they didn't know that!
Finished!!!! I rang the bell last Thursday after finishing rad #33! It was a wonderful feeling. It has been a whirlwind since trying to get to some kind of schedule and meeting with all who want to celebrate with me. I use to check this sight at least twice a day and now I'm lucky to do it twice a week.
Hope all are doing great. We've been though the war ladies and we have survived!!! -
January - congrats on ringing that bell!
-
Yahoo January!!! So glad you are finished with the rads!!! My friends tell me that I can go get a new driver's license once my hair has grown out but I think I just would like to keep the new one to remind myself what I looked like with ultra short hair. I'm just glad that my hair is growing back.
-
January: Congrats!!!!!!
-
2 mos on Femara and hubby noted fuzzy "longer than before" white facial hair on my face. You see it really good in the right light and angle. I am not happy I will have to wax my face. Ugh!! Ugh!! Double Ugh.
-
I just noticed some very blonde hair gowing on lower cheek, jawline where I never had it before. Never had facial hair before, so not sure what to do about it. I was just hoping it would disappear as fast as it appeared!
-
Oil of Olay has some facial hair remover that's supposed to be gentle. I have bought it, but haven't had the nerve to use it yet.
-
I have been very upset about my facial hair as I never had it before!! I have only been on Arimidex for one week so I know that it is not the cause. I actually shaved sections of my face when I was on chemo when I first noticed the facial hair. Could it be from the chemo throwing our bodies off balance. Any suggestions to get rid of it? I'm afraid to use any chemicals.
-
I bought some wax planning on doing an experiment to save money. I mean if my eyebrows cost $10 what will they charge for my face?
-
Stacie - please let me know how you make out with the wax. Open for suggestions.
-
Yes, Stacie: I am anxious to hear how your skin reacts.
-
OMG, I have the same problem and I decided not to take Arimidex since I am essentially triple negative. I thought the lack of hormones in my body accounted for the hair growth. It's out of control. Upper lip, lower lip, chin, neck, face, breast, you name it, its growing fast and furious.
If only the hair on my head would grow as quickly. They told me radiation would prevent the hair from growing under my arm.. Wrong!! Can't wait to shave, I'm going to Florida in 2 days. Either I can't lift my left arm, have to wear a tee shirt or I'm shaving. Can't take it much longer.
I'm open to any and all suggestions....
-
Summer: Your hair will grow. Mine just took off. I can't believe how much it has grown in the past month even. Most people think I just have a short "boy" cut. I am 3 months PFC
-
I have the same hair style Karen! Everyone says they love it but it's still to short to suit me. I notice it's starting to get waves in it. Hello chemo curl?? It really came in gray. The back of my head is much darker than the top which seems to be silver! I haven't decided what I'm doing with that if anything. It almost seems like I've earned the right to be gray!
-
Mine is getting wavy--Ugh! Chemo curl rearing it's ugly head-especially in the back!
-
Kjliberty- I'm sure your hair still looks great w/ or w/o waves!!!! At least your hair is back and growing!!!!!
-
Thanks, Mel!
-
You betcha!!!!
-
I have read that the lack of estrogen post chemopause causes the facial hair growth.
