C-squared......it has just been a week since you went back to work.  Maybe you just need a bit more time.  Maybe you will find a comfort zone.....but I do think there are a whole lot of people who think....ok, diagnosis, operation, chemo, rads.....5 yr. pill........and now she's fine.  One of the biggest reasons I think that many people stay here for years is that we don't recover quickly ( in general ) for something like cancer.  We aren't fine necessarily after those above mentioned items take place......there is so much more, and so often the people around us --- especially if they have not had this experience for themselves or had a really close family member will not really GET it.

We need time to work through all of this ourselves and to find the "new" normal so we can move on.  You won't be the old you, but the new you can be better than ever.  I, and I think lots of people find a new appreciation for the gift of life.....and in some cases, may not easily tolerate things we could before.  It takes a little time and practise to find out just who you are now....but I always see that as a better you......it was all there before...but it takes a crisis for it to bloom.  You are still you, but in the end, I think you will be a better you.  Just give it some time and listen to your heart and soul.  All the answers are there.

    Hugs, Jackie

c-squared-you've been through a lot and most people aren't cognizant of it and even if they were couldn't coprehend it unless they've lived it.  Unfortunately, people often feel uncomfortable around us, they don't know what to do or the right words to say and come across as unfeeling.  Your emotions are probably right on the surface and if you're like me I'm often at my emotional breaking point. It's ok to  feel frustrated, cranky, ready to release a fury on people when you just can't take another studpid coment or ridiculous action.  When you feel like you're going to lose it-check in here, we get it. Hang on, it's bound to get better ((Hugs)) xoxo

C squared my husband found an article 2 1/2 years ago when I started this journey about the stages of grief a woman goes through specifically to loosing a breast. If you PM me I would be happy to send it.  It is spot on as far as the different emotions I have felt.  I have shared it with many and they agree.  Things the public do not realize at all.

Beautiful morning here though it does sound like we will get plenty of Issac rain this week-end.  Well, no doubt about needing it.  Too late for farmers, but we do the best we can with each day we get and try to remember that some of our bad times end up having a blessing of some kind to leave with us.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.

    Hugs, Jackie

Wow Adey. Surgery cancelled? And rescheduled? Did you have a problem or the surgical team? That's quite a bit to go through in the midst of all of this. Blessings.

C-squared - you probably have lots of support since you are such a sweet happy gal on these threads. Just know if I can do anything ... I will. Need something at the grocery store or Wal-Mart or whatever. I'll pick it up and drop it off. Got a craving for a particular meal? You don't even have to open your door. Something else? Name it.

Prayers for your surgery and recovery.

    Diana.

So sorry, Adey! Probably  all electives were canceled for Isaac. Hope you find a nice hotel in Charleston. If it's SC we liked the Francis Marion Hotel on Kings St. It's an old restored place, but not near the ocean.

Adey & Diana~ Thank you both so much for your kind thoughts!  I cannot believe Isaac ruined your plans but so glad you are safe Adey.  And Diana.., you are sooo sweet to offer your help!  I truly appreciate it.  It's always good to grow a support system!  I'm thinking it should be relatively "easy" and for once, I can't wait to have the procedure done.., looking forward to getting the TE OUT OF MY ARMPIT!!! Ugh!  Smile

Safety, peace and kindness to all~  CC
