C-squared......it has just been a week since you went back to work. Maybe you just need a bit more time. Maybe you will find a comfort zone.....but I do think there are a whole lot of people who think....ok, diagnosis, operation, chemo, rads.....5 yr. pill........and now she's fine. One of the biggest reasons I think that many people stay here for years is that we don't recover quickly ( in general ) for something like cancer. We aren't fine necessarily after those above mentioned items take place......there is so much more, and so often the people around us --- especially if they have not had this experience for themselves or had a really close family member will not really GET it.
We need time to work through all of this ourselves and to find the "new" normal so we can move on. You won't be the old you, but the new you can be better than ever. I, and I think lots of people find a new appreciation for the gift of life.....and in some cases, may not easily tolerate things we could before. It takes a little time and practise to find out just who you are now....but I always see that as a better you......it was all there before...but it takes a crisis for it to bloom. You are still you, but in the end, I think you will be a better you. Just give it some time and listen to your heart and soul. All the answers are there.
Hugs, Jackie

c-squared-you've been through a lot and most people aren't cognizant of it and even if they were couldn't coprehend it unless they've lived it. Unfortunately, people often feel uncomfortable around us, they don't know what to do or the right words to say and come across as unfeeling. Your emotions are probably right on the surface and if you're like me I'm often at my emotional breaking point. It's ok to feel frustrated, cranky, ready to release a fury on people when you just can't take another studpid coment or ridiculous action. When you feel like you're going to lose it-check in here, we get it. Hang on, it's bound to get better ((Hugs)) xoxo

There is only one time that is important - NOW!
It is the most important time because
it is the only time that we have any power.

Where are you located? I have a great PCP in the northwest burbs (Arlington Heights / Buffalo Grove)
-
Hi LoriBach...I am near Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove...can I get the name and number of your PCP? I need one....I figure I can't go to my MO for the common cold. LOL. Thanks!

C squared my husband found an article 2 1/2 years ago when I started this journey about the stages of grief a woman goes through specifically to loosing a breast. If you PM me I would be happy to send it. It is spot on as far as the different emotions I have felt. I have shared it with many and they agree. Things the public do not realize at all.

Just wanted to say thank you for the warm welcome and Jackie thank you so much for all the inspiration.
lago..thank you!

People can be more forgiving than you can imagine.
But you have to forgive yourself.
Let go of what's bitter and move on.

Beautiful morning here though it does sound like we will get plenty of Issac rain this week-end. Well, no doubt about needing it. Too late for farmers, but we do the best we can with each day we get and try to remember that some of our bad times end up having a blessing of some kind to leave with us.
Hope you all have a fantastic day.
Hugs, Jackie

Hey! You guys forgot I was in New Orleans didn't yah? (c: Surgery cancelled and we drove 14 hours home on Monday as no flights available. Rescheduled for Friday in Charleston. Off to find a hotel. Ahhhhhhhhhhh! See ya next month.
Hugs, welcome and happy Wednesday to all!
C-squared; Best of luck with your surgery today.
-
Wow Adey. Surgery cancelled? And rescheduled? Did you have a problem or the surgical team? That's quite a bit to go through in the midst of all of this. Blessings.

Isaac blows! (c: That's why it was cancelled. At least we got away before land fall. Okay back to CHS hotels! (c:

C-squared - you probably have lots of support since you are such a sweet happy gal on these threads. Just know if I can do anything ... I will. Need something at the grocery store or Wal-Mart or whatever. I'll pick it up and drop it off. Got a craving for a particular meal? You don't even have to open your door. Something else? Name it.
Prayers for your surgery and recovery.
Diana. -
Diana that is so nice of u.
-
Oh Adey...that stinks! I am sorry about your surgery. I hope you get it done soon and can finish up all of this. Hugs!
-
adey sorry for the delay, it takes so much to prepare ourselves for each step and then to have it cancelled!
-
So sorry, Adey! Probably all electives were canceled for Isaac. Hope you find a nice hotel in Charleston. If it's SC we liked the Francis Marion Hotel on Kings St. It's an old restored place, but not near the ocean.
-
Adey & Diana~ Thank you both so much for your kind thoughts! I cannot believe Isaac ruined your plans but so glad you are safe Adey. And Diana.., you are sooo sweet to offer your help! I truly appreciate it. It's always good to grow a support system! I'm thinking it should be relatively "easy" and for once, I can't wait to have the procedure done.., looking forward to getting the TE OUT OF MY ARMPIT!!! Ugh!
Safety, peace and kindness to all~ CC

C-Squared: Good luck tomorrow. I will be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.
Adey: I am so sorry your surgery was postponed. Good luck to you and "see you" soon!
