Just in case you didn't know there's super wonderful news about Shelli...
Geeta posted on the Recurrence boardQuote:
I have an update!!! So sorry this has taken me so long--I just returned home from work.
Good news!!! Shelli's husband said the surgery was a SUCCESS and lasted shorter than expected! She was out at about 3 this afternoon (eastern time) and was still in recovery when I spoke with Karl (she'd be in there for 3-5 hours). And the surgeons were able to remove the entire tumor!!!! It was, if I recall correctly, about a centimeter from any area that would have affected Shelli's normal functioning, ie speach, sight, mobility, etc. She told her surgeon before going in to ONLY remove the parts of the tumor that would not affect anything else--but they were able to get it all, thank God.
Of course, she will be undergoing radiation therapy to make sure all of the nasty little cells are zapped, if any have decided to linger for a bit. She will be in the hospital for a few more days, possibly going home on Thursday.
Thank you all for your tremendous support of Shelli and her family--I will make sure she sees this thread!! She is on the road to recovery now, and will still need our prayers, so don't stop now.
Love,
Geeta -
Fumi,

Getta posted this tonight
Quote:
I just received an email from Shelli's mother--tomorrow is supposedly the peak day for possible problems, so add her to your prayer lists and send healing vibes her way. She has quite a bit of swelling, that is to be expected--and of course pain.
Keep Shell in your prayers through the day tomorrow--you guys rock!
Love,
Geeta
Shelli ,
Keeping you in my prayers, may God keep you and your family safe from harm.
