Shoulder pain

My wife had a sprain in right shoulder at night while sleeping and now in the morning right shoulder ( mastectomy side ) hurts and the neck is stiff and pains when rotated ,I met mu GP and he says it's due to sleeping In wrong posture and Rx pain killer but I am worried of mets ,can u all guide me

    U didn't say how long ago this happened. A lot of the women hear have a bad shoulder?? for different reasons but not mets. Is she done with chemo or is involved with all that now? Please post more info on this . OK?

    She is done with chemo in dec 11 ,now on tamoxifen ,pain since yesterday

    Hi many,

    I had terrible pain my neck shoulder and arm (mx side) that lasted months. I had a pinched nerve. Physical therapy and massage helped somewhat. I couldn't sleep and the dr gave me ativan which helped. I also used over the  counter pain meds (tylenol), and muscle rubs like ben gay or aspercreme. This went on for months. Docs did bone scan which showed some arthritis and one suspicious area (in an area of no pain). Ended up going through biopsy. Finally six months later I got the all clear.

    I use the 2 week rule of thumb. It may get better in the two weeks. if it lingers then your wife may want to get a scan. I suspect that she has a pinched nerve or other muscle pull/sprain not mets. As my doctor says, having had cancer doesn't mean you get a pass on all the other medical problems.
