So grateful that my youngest daughter had a wonderful time at church Girls' Camp. She came home full of stories about the girls helping each other, lifting each other up when feeling down, sharing their testimonies of Jesus Christ with each other and just plain having fun! Warmed this worry-wart momma's heart

I have a little notebook that my mom gave me. It's long and skinny, and I call it my gratitude book. When I write down something I feel grateful for, I won't stop until I do the entire page full. That's about 25 things at a time. When you start thinking of the little things we're grateful for, wow, does your perspective change!

For example:

I'm grateful for fans that keep me cool when my AC isn't working right.

I'm grateful for hospitals where I can go when I'm really sick (I have to keep telling myself that instead of how much I hate hospitals!)

I'm grateful for my chickens that are so much fun and give me fresh eggs every day.

I'm grateful for pillows! Lots of them, to help with all my aches and pains.

Years ago I used to be a medical transcriptionist. I did a few reports for a facility in Florida called (I'm not kidding!) The Joy McCann Culverhouse Center for Swallowing Disorders. Seriously? There are people who have problems swallowing?! Talk about something we take totally for granted! So every morning and night when I take my fistfuls of medications, I thank the Lord that He has blessed me with the ability to swallow them. That is no small thing, really.
