    I am sorry, but it comes double no matter what I do...may be moderators can help? this is my shawl Swallowtail...

    Oh my goodness Olgah that shawl is just beautiful!!! Chemo head or not your hands sure knew what to do.



    I posted at the end of May that I had just started a sweater for my DH .......... well I am now on sweater number three. I have completed the back and the front will be completed tomorrow. The sleeves and neck will probably take me a couple of weeks. Not sure what I'll do next.

    Thank you, Chrissy! I have more done, but I don't want to double it again...my first shawl Ishbel, I gave it to my dear friend Le Ann, she is TN, stage 3...she was so happy, so was I...

    Here goes, the first one I did is the green one and the secon is the beige one.  The one I'm working on at the moment is purple/aubergine.  It's not done yet but this is the back so you can see the pattern.

     

     The color of the last one is actually a deeper shade but I think the flash changed it.

    Olga your work is amazing. That top looks wonderful on you! I love the Lacey patterns and the way you have combined them in the bands.

    Boy, I am impressed! I am a newbie at knitting. I can't see myself ever doing anything like these pictures? Great work.

    Hi Bettye welcome to the thread. The more you knit the better you get so keep at it and before long you'll be doing just fine. There are still things that I will not attempt and I've been knitting for fifty years!........lol

    I know I can do this. I tatted two bonnets and booties. Very hard work.

    I love theook of tatting but it grows so slowly I'm afraid I lose patients, give me knitting and crochet any day....... Lol.

    I want to see it too... I would like to do tatting, but now I am knitting 4 projects and working full time in retail...Bettye, knitting is fun, if you want to do lace ( my favorite) try some simple scarf first, it is very easy, really. What is hard for me- cardigans with buttons and collars....hate that. Wish me good luck, tomorrow I am going to PS to decide, what to do with my chest ( used to be breast, reconstruction did not work)

    Hi there,

    Just found this. I have been doing lots of knitting lately. My sister and I are making littles things for one of the hospitals that serves a very poor community and we have almost another lot to go. Do have some pictures once I get then off my camera. HAve two cardigans to sew up over the weekend.

    Welcome, Alison! just came back from appt...no Te for me- DIEP or Latissimus....did not decide yet, have another appt with both PS October 1. Better think about knitting!

    Olga do I'm to take it that you are happy with your appt? At least he/she has given you plenty of time to do some research before you decide.



    Well first sleeve is complete and I'm about 8 inches into the second one. Hopefully this pullover will be completed by Wednesday next week. I'll post a pic when I'm done.



    What ply do you use for your lace knitting Olga? I'm thinking I'd like to try a lace wrap next.

    I do all kinds of lace...Swallowtail was thin one, Silky Alpaca lace, 2 ply. you can also see my works on Ravelry, my nick is VILTIS( HOPE in Lithuanian)..I also like to play with colors.

    Wow...the sweater is absolutely beautiful...and your hairstyle is pretty too.

    I learned how to knit last May and still "just" knitting scarves. I want to move forward, but it just seems so hard to do.

    Chrissy...how long did it take you to knit like that? I want to move forward so badly, but I don't feel it will ever happen. Any suggestions for a newbie like me?

    Shorbr the best way to go forward is to find a pattern you like and if you don't understand what it means just let me know and I will explain. Remember all knitting is just plain and purl what makes a design is just a combination of these two stitches. The rest is just practice and getting your tension even.

    Snorbr, is it about me?Thank you! my hair it is what is growing after chemo...I used to be blond, now I don't want to put any chemicals on me, so I did color it with Henna from Russian store, I became brunette.Smile I have been knitting a small sweater for my grandson in Chicago, and let me tell you, I hate to finish it! I mean I love knitting as a process, but sewing parts together...uuugh.I find any excuse at home not to do it. I also have to make a decision what to do next- LATISSIMUS or DIEP?   TE did not work for me...

    ask me any questions about knitting, please...I would be happy to help!

    i just found this side and you ladies  and this sweaters are wonderful

    i use to knit for my kids when the where smaller and still lived at home

    i like to go back again i tried but got lymphodema i will try again and just do it for a short while

    anybody has that problem

    Erika I have lymphodema do rather than knit for hours in one go I have lots of little breaks. If I feel my arm getting sore I'll go off and do some exercises and lymph drainage. I find that by doing this I can knit for quite sometime. Good luck with getting back to it!

    @olgah34, have you ever read a book called Knitting from the Top? It's the first book in this Amazon search result. I've read it, but not the others lower down in the search results. You might like this technique, because you can knit a garment all in one piece, so there are no seams to sew when you finish the knitting.
