Yes, I am a Houston Texan fan - they won last night! I believe they are supposed to be good this year as long as everyone can stay healthy! Going to be a fun season!

Hello ladies!
So sad to read of Becca's passing.
I am now in a hotel in Maine. Rain and fog - oh joy! Picking up MIL at noon. -
Titan--- my son made that when he was little, and I always loved it. But, silly you, don't we *all* have skeletons "on" our closet? You know me, always the jokester!
Sailing..... maybe I'll drop in and post more pics now & then.
-
OBXK - sorry for the crummy weather here in New England. It's been humid and rainy, and I don't think today is going to be great although it may clear out later this afternoon. I hope you see some sunshine! Otherwise, eat some lobster, clam chowder and blueberry pie! Oh, do that regardless of the weather!
-
Michelle_ we are loving the lobster! My 12 year old insist on eating it daily. He ordered lobster pizza yesterday at lunch. I am headed out to brunch soon, I hope I can get a bowl of lobster bisque, to enjoy on this gloomy day. Kid is in the heated outdoor pool with dad. I enjoying the first little bit of alone time on days
making memories... -
Heidi, he is beautiful! Are you rehabbing him? I love all kinds of wildlife, but I'm glad we don't have Great Horned Owls here. I have an indoor/outdoor habitat for my cats and a few months ago had Barred Owls nesting nearby. One even sat on the privacy fencing looking at the cats one night about 8 pm. I was really worried but from what I read, it seemed the Great Horned Owl is much more of a threat to larger animals like adult cats.
-
When we went to Maine a couple of years ago, I ate lobster rolls every single day! Oh, and the blueberry pie was a regular thing, too!!
-
Congrats Heidi, it's great to hear that things are going so well. I miss your picture travelogues.
-
I am a HUGE football fan. Sunday in our house growing up was in front of the TV and my mom would make sure we had Sunday dinner before the late game. I grew up as a Browns fan - my Dad is a die hard. Poor guy......they always suck. But they're fun to watch. My brother moved to Indy for University and so now we're all COLTS fans. He has seasons tickets so my DH and I get down a few times a season to watch. We're going to the COLTS and Green Bay game in October - it's the Breast Cancer game. Should be a great time.
-
Dropping in to say hello to all - been so busy both at work and getting my grand-daughter back to school tomorrow (and not to mention broke from all the shopping!). Starting her senior year and college hunting - I'm too old for all this again - help!!!! Welcome to all the new gals that have come on board - I wish you all well and may you all have gentle journies with your treatments.
Heidi - glad to hear you are well, happy and living life to the fullest. Keep on keeping on.
Luv - Keeping up with your posts, you are truly an amazing lady. I take my hat off to your courage, valor and upbeat personality. I am sad that you must go through further treatment, but at the same time remain optimistic that this next treatment or trial will work it's magic. You are and will remain in my thoughts and prayers.
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend, and wish you all a good week ahead.
Hugs,
Linda

Heidi..so happy to hear from you and thank you so much for bringing us back up for your great news...3 years is sooooo awesome!!! We all cannot wait to post the same.
My baby girl is 20 today. Last year she got lost in the shuffle of my DX. She is such a wonderful gift and I am thankful for her everyday.
Cocker ...we are all here holding you and your daughter. Hoping for good news from you tomorrow

thanks Christina...this can't happen quickly enough!
Cocker...will be checking on here for your good news..
Born...I think I love your Dad...he certainly isn't alone with this frustration over the Browns...never a dull moment with them for sure....still not sure how grown men can yell at the TV for 4 quarters but it happens
Luv...hang in there ..sucks about the treatment thing but we will be with you.
Watching the closing ceremonies... nothing can bring all the countries together like sports and some good music..right?

Thought I would pop in to say Hello to all. I haven't been here for a while, but all is well and coming up on my 2 year cancerversary! It's exciting but nerve racking at the same time! Thought I'd share this picture with you guys. Hope I insert it right. This is my husband's business and, well, I guess someone thought it should be a drive through!
I think of each of you often. You're always in my prayers....

Funny story about lobster rolls. First A/C chemo treatment and DH offers to go get us lunch. I've read that you shouldn't eat your absolutely favorite foods during chemo, and most probably not while you're being infused, lest you develop a nasty association between that food and chemo! He loves D'Angelo's subs and he thinks he can get away with going there because they have lobster rolls. So off he goes, comes back with his steak and cheese fat bomb and a lobster roll for me. So there I sat, eating a lobster roll while my chemo nurse pushed the red devil!!! I couldn't eat another one until well after I finished all my treatment. It's a wonder he didn't kill it for life!
Christina - thanks for posting that link...it sure sounds hopeful!
Linda - so sweet of you to say that! And yes, there's a reason why we had our kids young. Oh my, I can't imagine raising a child at this point in my life, but then, it's great that you are able to do it.
Yes, treatment sucks, but it beats the alternative at this point!
Angelisa - oh my, that's not good at all!!! I'm sure that made the local newscast! And congrats on getting to the two year mark!
Cocker - wishing nothing but good news for you and your daughter tomorrow.
OBXK - don't miss out on blueberry muffins, too!
-
Lobster rolls for lunch today! Things went pretty well with all the in laws today. Only had to put a brother on law on his place, when mistakenly thought he was in charge. Silly man!
My bones are killing me, and I'm feel like the song. " Go ask Alice" Ritalin for the days, Ativan at night.
Hope everyone in treatment is doing well.
Annie - did I miss the news on Mandy? Hope the next week flies. -
I read everyday but rarely post.
I love fried lobster with garlic&peper. It's Chinese menu. I had 6 week seminar at MIT,Boston years ago. Got the train, subway from Kendall station to China town on weekend. My good memories there, New England.
I'll have 5 more rounds radiotherapy. Finished on 20 Aug. Now start being exhausted.
Thank you for everyone posting.
Michelle - Your post is my inspiration. I admire your courage. Support me to have a silent mind. Hope you get good results on all your treatment.
CS- Wishing you get good news..
Titan-Thank you for starting this thread, good job. Your consistant running is my inspiration too.
My thought with all of you. -
cc4-I hope everyone was ok! Looks like your poor hubby has cleaning up to do:(
Inmate-I didn't know you started ac. Have you had it before? I had it twice, 4 rounds in 2003 and 6 rounds this last time. It did wonders for me, and will for you too!
I love lobster! Problem is I developed an allergy to it and all shellfish:(
I used to hear owls at night, I have no idea what kind they were, never have seen any around. I always worry when my chihuahua needs to gp potty after dark! I have to go out with him! Once we had a bald eagle hanging around. He would fly so low I was worried he would get my chi or one of my chickens, but he moved on.
Hope you all had a great weekend!
-
Nuan,
Glad to hear from you.
You are getting close to the end of your treatments! I started getting really tired right at the end also and stayed that way for a while after. It took me some time also to adjust after all the treatments stopped - I felt afraid because I wasn't doing anything to stop the cancer anymore but after a while I started to feel more comfortable.
Bak, what kind of chi do you have- longhaired or short?
-
He is a short hair chi and has the coloring of a rotweiler, so we call him a mini rotty! He is the funniest dog, we have a yellow lab mix that weighs 135 lbs, an 85 lb black lab and a 65 lb border collie mix and Harley, my chi is the alpha dog! I didn't want a small dog, my hubby did, as he grew up with a chi. But now I am sold! I just love him! He likes chasing the goats! I took him and the border collie, Petey, to a place where they teach the dogs how to herd sheep. Harley did better than Petey! He was actually just along for the ride when the owners said "why don't you let the little guy have a go at it." It was too funny! He did a good job, I should probably take him back there again. All my dogs are pound puppies except for Harley. Oh, you only asked what kind of chi I have:) As you can tell I could go on for hours about my dogs! Harley loves everyone, especially children, which I do not think is typical for chi's. He is just such a sweetie. Ok ok, I will stop!

Hi Ladies
I'm back at the lodge for more zapping. Two weeks to go then back to normal, I hope. My beloved girl went to the specialist today and he said he would be very surprised if the lump turned out to be cancer but he is sending her to have an aspiration just to be sure. So thanks to all of you ladies for your good wishes. Her appointment is this coming Friday and then a weeks wait until the results come through so still keeping my fingers crossed.
Heidi - really great news on three years out and great that you are enjoying your normal life. Way to go girl. You enjoy it cause you deserve it.
LRM216 - good to see you popping in again. You look much too young to be a grandmother.
Karen - enjoy your holiday in Maine. Hopefully the weather will improve for you.
Mags - my two girls are wonderful gifts as well. Makes me wonder why I got to be so lucky to have such a wonderful family.
Titan - I've been watching the olympics as well. Does my old heart good to see all the countries of the world coming together so happily for sport. Each of the games was so wonderful to watch.
cc4npg - what a picture. So nice of them to pop in!!.
Nuan - only five more to go, yay. I have got nine to go then back to my home and hopefully normal life.
Bak94 - your dogs sound lovely. I could go on and on about Chloe as well but it wouldn't be as complimentary as yours lol, though she did give me a beautiful kiss before I could move my face this morning when I left home so perhaps I still love her lol.
Have a good night ladies. Hoping you are all well and keeping well. Big hugs. Annie

half way between Charleston and Huntington
-
Angelisa- so good to "see" you!! Glad you are well-Happy 2 Year!! I hope no one was injured in your drive-thru remodel! LOL!
Cocker- I am sending good thoughts to your daughter! I can't wait to hear what you did to torture the old bag at the lodge this week!
Linda- good to "see" you too! My kids go back to school on Wed. There is always so much to do! They will be in 5th and 1st grade this year- where does the time go!!
-
Bak, That is so funny - I would love to see a chi chasing goats! I am sure my little chi, Ralph, would do that, too - my husband and I always describe him as "fierce" -and he is the only one of our dogs who likes the kiddie wading pool. He likes to splash in the water.
-
Bak......I'm not back on A/C, instead I am on ixempra. That may change today as I should find out if I qualify for the trial. Although, I still have my cough, and last night I developed the most amazing pain in my chest, upper right when I cough or hold something heavy with my right arm. I mean, it made me burst into tears. I think more because it scares me than is unbearable. I'm usually not such a woosey for pain. This whole thing is just starting to freak me out. I feel like I am losing my grip on the stay positive attitude. I am really worried this is the beginning of the end for me ladies. Something just does not feel right. I will be requesting a scan from the good doc this afternoon. WTF?!
Thanks for letting me vent. I will update you al later. Have a wonderful day! Off to water the flowers and feed the outdoor kitties.
Love to you all!

Oh inmate, I am so sorry you are having this pain. I am sure it is very scary and I wish I could take that away. You are so allowed to have the feelings you have, whatever they are. (((Hugs)))
-
Inmate, thinking of you and wish I could do something for you to take away the pain and the fear
Thinking of you too, Annie, and hoping for good news with your daughter.
