Hey everyone...bad week on here .....yes....but we had some good news too....Karen being Ned...thats a good thing...ladies going through chemo with blue tongues...but surviving it nonetheless.

I dunno...we do what we have to do and hope for the best...we support each other in good times and bad....I don't know what I would do without all of you...amazed at all the caring that goes on here...

Inmate...loved the pic...ha ha...that pic is you loving your life...(and the bil seems to be enjoying himself also).

Ok...ladies...get your thighs ready for some clapping..I'm doing another 5K next Saturday.....this one isn't for cancer but for the United Way...my company sponsors the whole thing and I ended up being the team Captain..by default...so here we go....I think about Laura, Mary and Suze now I will think about Becky, Lisa and Jenn...you just can't imagine how thinking of them makes me try even harder....I really do feel them with me...maybe that is weird but it is the truth.

Inmate - I usually have a sore throat with A/C, but I woke up yesterday with a blue tongue! The top was Blue and the bottom was blue with red blood vessels. I was concerned that it has something to do with my "alert low" WBC, but the MO determined that I have an infection and called in Antibiotics. Was doing really well until this week. Feel like cr@p, but will get through it.

    Hugs to all.

Thanks all.  I've completed a whole week of work (except 3 hours to go to doc on tuesday).  Worst S/E was/is the itch/rash which is well maintained on prednisone.  Other S/E's are a bit of metal mouth with the steroid pre-chemo; red flushed face as if I've been in the sun; drippy nose a bit.  NOT BAD.

Today is DAY #11 - so you know what that means . . . I'm losing my hair this coming week.  (I'm vocalizing that in Bruce the Shark's voice from Finding Nemo) Laughing

I have a picture of my pre-falling out hair cut - but can't figure out how to load it - so someone will have to help me with figuring that out.  I also had my hubby take pictures of my pre-bi-lat-mastectomy, and NOW I CAN'T FIND IT - I was going to be very brave and show you all my "pre" and "post" flat chest (both pre and post are actually quite similar - total weight loss of breast tissue was 1.6 pounds Embarassed).  Anyway, I've been "flying high" on prednisone; yesterday I was "traveling at ludicrous speed" -- today slowed down a bit to "warp speed" at work.  I am so blessed to be able to work, feel relatively normal (the definition of normal "for me" may be a bit off . . . ), enjoy work and my hubby, and the beautiful weather this evening.  All around good week.

Grace and peace and comfort and SLEEP to you all (I'm taking my sleeping pill now!)

Hi Ladies. I'm  back to the land of the living.

Tookybun - so glad to hear your first treatment is over.  Hope all goes well for your next ones.

Melissa119 - Great that you are on your last AC.  Hoping taxol is easier for you.  Enjoy your break from here and come back when you can.

Inmate - sorry youre having trouble with your sister.  There is nothing worse than a liar or a thief in my book because you can never trust either and its even worse when its your sister. Glad you were able to sort it out with minimum stress for you.  Your pics are just great.  You look wonderful in them. How is baby Baker? Talking of tattoo's don't forget the two I am going to get on my butt cheeks .........some day.  Love the pic of you and your sister, I hope he is her husband with his hand where it is !!!!

Riley702 - what a day you had with your friend and the burglary. Well they always say what goes around comes around so hopefully the rotten sods will get theirs some day.  Just love your smiley group hug.  One back at you.

Babs37 - yes it is hard on here when a friend passes and we feel so much sadness for their families but we do have some fun days too to help us over that thankfully and there are more of them than  sad days. You are right when you say it gets better with time.

Tazzy - hope all went well with your surgery.  Crying doesn't make you weak love, after crying we are somehow always able to pick ourselves up and carry on.  I am a lot more emotional since  having cancer but we get there. You will soon be back to our cheerful Tazzy.

Fern - I got a lot of itchy rashes with chemo and taxol. Nearly made me crazy and kept me up all night.  So glad you are getting on top of it and you had a great day with your friends.

Maggie - great news that your son and his wife are working through their issues  with no divorce. Will be hard but at least they are both willing to try so they are half way there already.  I'm sure they will pull through together and come out a lot stronger.

Jan69 - great news and congratulations on being 1½ yrs NED.  I hope I make that too.  You are right a group hug always helps.

Bak94 - can I get off the train with you and Jan too.  The thought of a recurrence after rads does nothing but go around and around in my brain and the thought of what will happen to me next - very frightening.

Bernie - great joke about the chicken.

Luv - thinking of you heaps and so glad that you are enjoying your time with the grandchildren. Such crap news.  I hope they come up with a sure fire trial.  I know you will beat this,  you are always so positive.

Christina19 - I use my absent mindedness quite a lot with my family. Comes in handy if I have forgotten to do something for them.

Heather - glad you checked in.  You was a long time away. Glad you are going to visit hubby and the babies.  How is your new job going?

KSmatthews - Congratulations.  Wonderful words NED.  Just what we needed to hear.

Titan - you go girl - again.  Hope you have been keeping up with your training.  Don't worry we will be clapping our thighs.  The next thing you know you will be in the next olympics. Wouldn't that be great.  I know you could do it!!

Well Monday is nearly here and  we might find out some more info on my Mandy.  I have been praying a lot.  So please hold her hand on Monday at 4.15pm.

I can never wait to get home from the lodge even though I have made many friends there now.  It is a lovely place but just not like home.  I rush to my treatment on a Friday so that I can get on the road early.  I'm still getting into trouble from the battleaxe for leaving a door open when I nip out for a ciggie.  I'm beginning to think she is quite miserable, the old bat.  The dinners are ok but not as good as my old fellars.  The cafe is doing good and he is enjoying it.  He's got so many people to chat to now and my other daughter Cindy said they haven't had one arguement yet - wonders will never cease to happen lol.

We were all at dinner last night and my old fellar had a fluffy dice that he kept in the car but was somehow in the house.  When we had finished dinner my daughter looked under the table and there was all these black felt dots all over the floor.  The little shit (Chloe) had somehow got the dice and bitten off all the dots whilst we were eating. Couldn't help but laugh so to get her back I bathed her today.  (She don't like a bath, luckily). That will teach her.

Sending warm hugs to everyone and hoping you will have a good day.  Annie

A man walks into a bar with an ostrich and a cat and sits at the bar. The bartender walks over to them and says, "What can I get for you?"
The man says "I'll have a beer", the ostrich says, "I'll have a beer", and the cat says, "I'll have half a beer and I'm not buying." So the bartender says, "OK, that will be $3.87."
The man reaches into his pocket and brings out the exact change and pays him. About an hour later the bartender goes back over to them and says, "What'll you guys have?"
The man says, "I'll have a beer", the ostrich says, "I'll have a beer", and the cat says "I'll have half a beer and I'm not buying." The bartender gets them their beer and says "That'll be $3.87."
The man reaches into his pocket and brings out the exact change and pays him. A couple of days later they come back into the bar and the bartender walks over and asks "What do you guys want today?"
The man says, "I'll have a scotch", the ostrich says, "I'll have a bourbon", and the cat says, "I'll have half a beer and I'm not buying." So the bartender says "OK, that will be $7.53." The man reaches into his pocket and brings out the exact change and pays him.
The bartender's curiosity got the best of him and he asks, "Why is it that every time I tell you the amount you owe you always have the exact change in you pocket?"
The man said, "I found a bottle with a genie in it and she granted me 3 wishes. My first wish was that I always have the exact change in my pocket for anything I buy."
The bartender says, "That's a great wish...better than asking for a million dollars. A million dollars will run out but that never will. What were your other 2 wishes?"
The man says, "That's where I screwed up. I asked for a chick with long legs and a tight p***y."

Hello ladies. Haven't been here in months, too busy enjoying life (sailing, traveling, carriage driving... in otherwords... the usual!) and putting cancer behind me. Nonetheless, thought today warranted a peek in here. THREE YEARS TODAY!

Sadly, I also checked the Angel's List and saw where two more have passed. I read blondelawyers blog.... widowed/diagnosed/died.... all by 33 years old. Incredibly sad stuff.

I feel lucky to be here. Don't forget to feel the breeze on your faces, smell the fragrances of life, and touch something you love. Every day.

Heidi, CONGRATULATIONS!  I remember what the doctor told me about three years being a very good sign.  I'm glad you stopped by - I was thinking about you yesterday and figured you had been traveling and carriage riding.  Please pop by and post pictures when you have a chance.  I know the new girls would also love to see pics of the horses and Boston pups.  They always put a smile on my face!

Fern.....can't wait to see the pics.  I use tinypic to host my photos then cut and paste the address into this message using the tree icon.

Heidi......big congrats to you!  Yes, please, when you have time from your busy schedule, indulge us with some pics.  Don't forget to include McFry (?)  Did I get that right?

Cocker.....that old bat may just miss you the most when you leave.  I think you give her some purpose.  Perhaps a nice big smile and hug when you leave should throw her off her surly game.  So glad to hear about the old fellers cafe.  Hmmmmm, just makes me hungry thinking about it.

    have a wonderful day everyone!

    Love to you all!

I have had a gloriously wonderful day . . . worked in my flower beds all morning, sat in the hot tub and then read a book on the deck for ~ an hour . . . then took an oatmeal & bubble bath . . . then briefly went shopping - bought fresh corn, plums, peaches and a book . . . and ate greek salad and clam chowder at a good restaurant here . . . planted some mums this evening . . . . altogether perfect, and I feel fine.  I did notice that ~ 20 or more hairs dropped out while "scratching" my head, sitting after gardening . . . . an indicator of what is coming my way this week . . . EACH hair, I'm trying to say OK - one dead cancer cell = 1 dead hair follicle . . . yea team!

Have a pleasant evening!  (It's August 11 - normal temp in WV is ~ 90-95° with high humidity - today it's been low 70's and little humidity - - WONDERFULLY PLEASANT.)

The boss of a big company needed to call one of his employees about an urgent problem with one of the main computers.
He dialed the employees home phone number and was greeted with a child's whispered on the first ring, "Hello?"
Feeling put out at the inconvenience of having to talk to a youngster the boss asked, "Is your Daddy home?".
    "Yes.", whispered the small voice.
May I talk with him?", the man asked.
To the surprise of the boss, the small voice whispered, "No."
Wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?".
    "Yes.", came the answer.
    "May I talk with her?".
Again the small voice whispered, "No."
Knowing that it was not likely that a young child would be left home alone, the boss decided he would just leave a message with the person who should be there watching over the child. "Is there any one there besides you?", the boss asked the child.
"Yes", whispered the child, "A policeman."
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?".
"No, he's busy.", whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?", asked the boss.
"Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman.", came the whispered answer.
Growing concerned and even worried as he heard what sounded like a helicopter through the ear piece on the phone the boss asked, "What is that noise?".
"A hello-copper.", answered the whispering voice.
What is going on there?", asked the boss, now alarmed.
In an awed whispering voice the child answered, "The search team just landed the hello-copper!"
Alarmed, concerned and more than just a little frustrated the boss asked, "Why are they there?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied along with a muffled giggle, "They're looking for me!"
