    Riley, that's awful!

Retirement is wonderful.  1.5 years is not that far away.  Enjoy.

My dress is a dark burgandy lace.  Very simple.

I'm as loopy as heck on the gabapentin. Hope it levels off soon!

Riley-So sorry to hear that your day at the fair was ruined by your friend, and I'm sorry to hear of the burglary of your place. I'm sure you feel very violated. I'm glad you're leaving there.

Blue-I love the shoes! I don't think I would be able to wear them for very long, no matter how strong my back might be. I can't believe I used to work in retail, on my feet 8 hours a day, in 3 inch heels. Now I can barely stand 2 inch heels for an hour at church! I hope the gabapentin works for you. My mom takes a very small dose for her fibromyalgia and it seems to work pretty well for her.

Yorkie and Gumby-Here's to pain- and complication-free surgeries this week. I'll be thinking about you both.

I'm not even close to retirement. 15 years at minimum, and if the economy keeps on like it is, and health care keeps going up, it will be even longer. Good thing I like my job!

Also been away - what a lot has happened here!

Best of luck to the reconstructees - hope it all goes smoothly.

Blue, I am glad they are zeroing in on a cause. Neurontin makes some people sleepy. Lovely shoes, BTW.

((((Riley)))) What a truly awful day. Your friend has probably been drinking for a while.....You move not a second too soon, it seems. Nasty that you should have people in your life capable of so much spite. Thank God you had almost moved everything out. I do hope things get better. I am glad you posted here because I don't have a FB account (yes, we do exist).

Oh....and I am loving my new flip phone. I had forgotten how nifty it was to make a call with one hand and hold an ergonomically comfortable device to an ear.

That aside, I have been working hard and battling my own demons (Wabbit, I think your rabbit hole is above where I was), which thanks to my superb doctor are on the road to being vanquished, for now.

ETA: SUNFLOWERS: Are you reporting for duty tomorrow at 0.600 HRS? I think that is when the ban expires - maybe it's tomorrow night if they do it in 24 hour increments.

Riley, your day was the absolutel pits. No words! So hope tomorrow is better (((HUGS)))

Garden, I did not have a DIEP, just a central lumpectomy, which took my nipple. I will have smaller boobs, but who cares? I just want to look like a normal woman again. My hubby would prefer for me to do nothing, but I am vain enough that I want this.

Athena-Were you in Seattle today? A friend of mine took a picture of you at the Woodland Park Zoo.

    Hi all,

Have been up all night after chemo and decadron today. Yikes. I'll be tired tomorrow. I have never seen a thread move this fast. I'm off for a few days and miss a ton. Hope all goes well with the upcoming reconstructive procedures and everyone gets great results. My tattoo didn't take and I never bothered going back to have it redone. I did, however, have my eyebrows and eyeliner done twice and found that well worth the effort and pain. After chemo the first time they just never came back to my satisfaction. Blue, awesome shoes. Just don't click your heels together three times or you might end up in Kansas. Riley, OMG, the day from hell. It can only get better. Kam, congratulations on chemo completion! Celebrate! Bren, glad you're getting some work coming in. I know that's a relief. And boo, to those inhuman reviewers who have no idea what it's like to work as we go through treatments and stress of cancer. We won't wish it on them, just wish they'd get it. Don't know what I've missed but I'm sure there's something. I feel like a read a novel with lots of different plot twists everytime I log on. I spent Monday and Tuesday with my grandson at Busch Gardens and Water Country USA in Williamsburg. We had a blast in spite of a couple of thunderstorms that put everything on hold til they passed over. We rode the loch ness monster 3 times and while I won't parachute out of an airplane, I do love roller coasters! I especially love making memories with my grands. Echocardiogram and neulasta tomorrow so I'm sure I'll sleep tomorrow night!

Catch you all later. Have great Thursdays!

    Hi all,

Haven't been on the computer much, even though I have internet.  Been running around Vermont, looking at parks and other places for weddings, and I think my daughter has settled on having her wedding in September next year at the Elmore State Park.  We're also checking out bakeries and caterers.  We found one caterer yesterday that we liked for the price and the fact that he can do a park, and we're also looking at a pizza truck tomorrow.

I also visited the Center for the First American horse, which has descendants of the Spanish horses.  What friendly horses.  They came up to be scratched and petted.  I also got on a horse, first time in at least 5 years - certainly first since BC - just walked, but I've been so afraid of even trying to get on.  It was great!

        Blue - great shoes.

Riley - so sorry.  At least you've got your new place to go to.

Yorkie and Gumby - good luck on the surgeries.

White Rabbit - I've taken to reporting telemarketers - especially Rachel from Credit Card Services = to the DO NOT Call list, since they shouldn't be calling me.  I get their phone numbers on my caller i.d.  It doesn't do any good, but it makes me feel better.  Thinking of complaining to my congressman, not that that'll do any good, either.

         Waiting for the SUNFLOWERS!

Riley, Glad you're out of that place.  Since you weren't insured, you may be able to take the cost of your lost items off your taxes.  Check with an accountant.

Blue, Those shoes are amazing! Men are going to faint!!!!

Best wishes for all who are having surgeries for fast recovery and perfect healing.

I'm standing next to Alexandria5 waiting for Sunflowers.

on a different note - I thought my insurance woes were over, but found out today that though they approved the hospital and anesthesiologist for my stage II, they still are denying the doctor!!!  sooooo weird.  Anyway, back to the appeal process.....

Beautiful day in Seattle today. I took my lunch down to Richmond Beach. There are signs posted all over-"Dogs must be on leash at all times". I want to sit and read my book, so I go down the beach a ways, and sit down with my lunch and book. A woman with a fairly large dog sits down, maybe 10 feet away from me, and takes her dog's leash off and starts playing fetch with the dog, with a tennis ball into the water. No problem yet. She and the dog come back to her area and both lie down. Another dog, also off leash, and accompanied by 2 women, comes down the beach and proceeds to run at this woman and her dog and their food. The first woman proceeds to freak out, raving about f***ing irresponsible dog owners. She then sits there and babytalks with her dog for the next 15 minutes about what a good baby he is, what bad parents the other dog's were......

I guess my point is, other than I wanted a nice quiet lunch by the water unaccompanied by the soundtrack of the constant talking to her dog is, Why did she think the leash rule applied to everyone else but her? And yes, I got up and moved......

Yeesh, some people. Probably the same ones who walk into a mostly empty movie theater, plop their asses down right next to you and then proceed to talk and text and eat, all loudly, all through the movie. And yes, I pointedly get up and move, too, but they're usually oblivious.

Ok, here is the situation: Sunflowers tried to log in this morning and got the following message:

"Login failed. The account you tried to access is no longer authorized."

Mods: PLEASE un-ban her. This is a community of peer-to-peer support. I, as one peer, declare that I need Sunflowers here to make BCO a better place. I really think it's time to let bygones be bygones. She is a cancer patient and we are in need of her friendship and warmth.

Everyone, if you agree with this, please indicate so by simply posting a picture of a sunflower and avoid any other topic until we get a response from the mods. Here goes my plea for Sunflowers's reinstatement:

We saw there was a glitch this morning and the ban wasn't overturned automatically yesterday as it should have been. This was not intentional; Sunflowers is no longer banned.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Today is the dreaded dental appointment for the bone sticking out of yet another gum.  ackk!  More cutting and suturing is in my future I'm afraid.

Gorgeous weather this morning.  I've walked the dogs and actually enjoyed it this morning.

Sunnyflowers ... I am so happy to see you back with us.  We missed you so much!

Hope everyone has a great day,

    Bren
