Shar, The smoke is still hanging around causing me some bad allergy crap. Spent most of yesterday coughing and unable to get enough air in my lungs to do much. I have allergy induced asthma and the fires are kicking it into overdrive. I saw that there was a new fire near Caldwell and now one near Micron. The ct today was interesting as they could use my right arm (my good arm) for the IV. She did good and found a decent vein. Now the wait is on for the results.

Hello all hope all is doing well.  It has been one week today since my first chemo treatment and I am so excited to report, my tumor that was visually noticable last week, can barely be felt.  I had to really feel around and try to find it, when all this started, you could look at my chest and see it.  It is truley amazing, this is why I wanted surgery after chemo I wanted to see it working!  Can't wait to go to the doc on 8/3 and see what she says.

    brow......YEAH!

    Hope......sending you my love.

    Luv......really? Nah, you can't be 62!

Titan......that is the best part of going to the doctor, isn't it?

Hey Mags!.....thanks for checking on us girls.

Well, I'm sure I missed some of you wonderful ladies, but I think of you all often.

I finally got my official results from the biopsy today.  Shocker, it was positive.  Huh, really?  Well, the little buggers have spread to both sides of my chest since last week so I will be starting chemo again next week.  Looks like rads are out of the question because I cannot have any more on "lefty".  The good thing with the skin mets, we will be able to see if this chemo (don't know which one yet) is working.  I feel a little like a turkey with that done button.  Funny, I just want to be done!

As far as I know the clinical trials are for people who still have evidence of disease.  When I first talked with the research group I did not have any.  Two days later my skin mets reappeared.  As much as I don't like having to do this again, they may very well be saving my life by qualifying me for the trial.  Friggin silver lining.  How come mine seems to be so tarnished?  Off to look for my silver polish!

I hope everyone had a great day!  Love to you all!

Brilliant pictures, Inmate.Little Red Riding Hood is skipping down the road when she sees the Big
Bad Wolf crouched down behind a log.

"My what big eyes you have, Mr Wolf", says Little Red Riding Hood.

The wolf jumps up and runs away. Further down the road Little Red
Riding Hood sees the wolf again. This time he is crouched behind a tree
    stump.

"My what big ears you have, Mr Wolf", says Little Red Riding Hood.

Again the wolf jumps up and runs away. Some distance further down the
track Little Red Riding Hood again encounters the Big Bad Wolf, this time
    crouched behind a road sign.

"My what big teeth you have, Mr Wolf", taunts Little Red Riding Hood.

With that the Big Bad Wolf jumps up and screams... "Will you eff off,
    I'm trying to take a s**t !"

    Too funny, BE!!!

Inmate, so sorry you are staring at skin mets AGAIN!  That is just so not fair!  I am sending love and hope for a treatment that works, once and for all.  And oh, you CAN have rads again under certain circumstances...I had both Mammosite and external radiation on my left side.  I've definitely reached my lifetime limit.  But if you've had rads just once, there may be an option.  And your great nephew is just adorable!  I can see he brings you great joy!  And he has quite the head of hair...I advice you not show this picture on the Hair, hair, hair thread...it'll kill those ladie waiting for theirs to grow in...lol!

<BE> Thanks for the laugh.  Need to bring that one to my husband.

<Inmate> So sucks...The pictures were great.  What a cutie (well both of you).  Sending you some "silver polish" thoughts your way.

Luv....thanks for the sound advice.  He was born with a full thick head of hair.  I swear he looked like he had a sleeping cat on his head.  Or an old man with a very unbelievable toupee.  He is now 7 months old and his hair is long and luxurious.  Both his dad and grandpa have very little hair.  So the envy abounds in our family.  Including from auntie Dawn.

Inmate--You and your sister are so right.  He is the definition of happiness.  What a precious little person.  What a different world we would have if all children were loved and cared for as your nephew.  Give your little guy a big love from me. He'll no doubt give you strength as you face your continued battle.

Getting really worried about Cocker.  Wish she would check in.

Newbies, sounds like you are doing well.  Keep it up.

My MO appointment yesterday yielded a US for "other breast."  Probably nothing, but.........

Got more peaches and cucumbers.  More jam and pickles coming up.  Christmas gifts, I guess.  Just planted beets.  Hope they don't roast in the ground.

My best healing wishes to all, Jan

Hope  I am so very sorry you have to face mets.  I'm sending you strength and courage to fight this evil invader.  Please know your TN sisters are all holding your hand with compassion and understanding.

We had a Disney event here recently.  You may recall we live in the Sierra Nevada mountains and our neighbors are pretty wild.  This day we had to stop to watch 2 young bunnies, several tiny chipmunks, and the whole family of quail as they held a neighborhood gathering.  Way too cute!  Of course we couldn't take a picture as they would scatter if we got any closer. Other years we have had foxes.  Not my favorite animal as they made their den under the deck and mom and dad would bring all sorts of fresh meat to their young.  Wild turkeys, bears, coyotes, deer, mountain lions, and more make life interesting.  We need to move closer to medical care, but we won't because of the trees, the animals, and friends. There's nothing like the sound of whispering pines to soothe my anxiety.  Jan
