Hey Karen..gotta love the waste of time! I do hope though that you got felt up and examined at least a little??? I don't have blood tests or scanned but I am examined very thoroughly.
Miss you Cocker..and the ol' feller and that dog of yours..hope everything is ok with you.
Hope...miss you also...I don't like to pry but we are here for you...ok???
been meaning to tell you Luv..how beautiful that baby is....and there is now way no how you look like a great grandma but you are truly blessed with that little man.
Hey wrsmith! we have known each other along time haven't we? Hope that you and Minxie are done with this FC...like now!

Shar, The smoke is still hanging around causing me some bad allergy crap. Spent most of yesterday coughing and unable to get enough air in my lungs to do much. I have allergy induced asthma and the fires are kicking it into overdrive. I saw that there was a new fire near Caldwell and now one near Micron. The ct today was interesting as they could use my right arm (my good arm) for the IV. She did good and found a decent vein. Now the wait is on for the results.
-
minxie...so happy that you checked in ...congrats on finishing rads!
Hello newbies and HOPE 60 check in to let us know what is up. I keep thinking that I am going to take a break from this board for a while but I just cannot seem to do it. I want to know what is going on with all my sisters!
Maggie
-
Thanks, Titan! At 62 I guess I would qualify as a young great-grandma!
-
Hello all hope all is doing well. It has been one week today since my first chemo treatment and I am so excited to report, my tumor that was visually noticable last week, can barely be felt. I had to really feel around and try to find it, when all this started, you could look at my chest and see it. It is truley amazing, this is why I wanted surgery after chemo I wanted to see it working! Can't wait to go to the doc on 8/3 and see what she says.
-
hi ladies,
brow.....how's your throat? hope it is feeling better
minxie.....so happy to hear from you. yeah for being done and happy first week back to work. remember to take it easy. slow and steady to start.
luah....your trip sounds wonderful. are you going to post pics?

ksmatthews.....yeah. a free summer with no tests. good for you!
oh born.....yuck on the infection.
gma....did the fluids help? extra fluids can make a big difference.
thanks all for the nice comments on the pics and the swear words. both were very welcome.
i don't want to miss anyone so i will split my message tonight so i can read back a few pages.
-
brow......YEAH!
Hope......sending you my love.
Luv......really? Nah, you can't be 62!
Titan......that is the best part of going to the doctor, isn't it?
Hey Mags!.....thanks for checking on us girls.
Well, I'm sure I missed some of you wonderful ladies, but I think of you all often.
I finally got my official results from the biopsy today. Shocker, it was positive. Huh, really? Well, the little buggers have spread to both sides of my chest since last week so I will be starting chemo again next week. Looks like rads are out of the question because I cannot have any more on "lefty". The good thing with the skin mets, we will be able to see if this chemo (don't know which one yet) is working. I feel a little like a turkey with that done button. Funny, I just want to be done!
As far as I know the clinical trials are for people who still have evidence of disease. When I first talked with the research group I did not have any. Two days later my skin mets reappeared. As much as I don't like having to do this again, they may very well be saving my life by qualifying me for the trial. Friggin silver lining. How come mine seems to be so tarnished? Off to look for my silver polish!
I hope everyone had a great day! Love to you all!
-
Sorry inmate hang strong you are a beautiful and powerful women. My throat is doing great as long as I keep up with the salt water.
-
This is who I got to spend my weekend with.....this pic was of my last day of my last chemo. my great nephew...Baker James

-
Okay....here is one from last weekend....as my sister said...this is the definition of happiness

-
Brilliant pictures, Inmate.Little Red Riding Hood is skipping down the road when she sees the Big
Bad Wolf crouched down behind a log.
"My what big eyes you have, Mr Wolf", says Little Red Riding Hood. The wolf jumps up and runs away. Further down the road Little Red
Riding Hood sees the wolf again. This time he is crouched behind a tree
stump.
"My what big ears you have, Mr Wolf", says Little Red Riding Hood.Again the wolf jumps up and runs away. Some distance further down the
track Little Red Riding Hood again encounters the Big Bad Wolf, this time
crouched behind a road sign."My what big teeth you have, Mr Wolf", taunts Little Red Riding Hood.
With that the Big Bad Wolf jumps up and screams... "Will you eff off,
I'm trying to take a s**t !" -
Bernie....I was trying to recite it to my husband and I couldn't even get the whole thing out before bursting into laughter, then tears. Thank you!
-
Too funny, BE!!!
Inmate, so sorry you are staring at skin mets AGAIN! That is just so not fair! I am sending love and hope for a treatment that works, once and for all. And oh, you CAN have rads again under certain circumstances...I had both Mammosite and external radiation on my left side. I've definitely reached my lifetime limit. But if you've had rads just once, there may be an option. And your great nephew is just adorable! I can see he brings you great joy! And he has quite the head of hair...I advice you not show this picture on the Hair, hair, hair thread...it'll kill those ladie waiting for theirs to grow in...lol!
-
<BE> Thanks for the laugh. Need to bring that one to my husband.
<Inmate> So sucks...The pictures were great. What a cutie (well both of you). Sending you some "silver polish" thoughts your way.
-
Luv....thanks for the sound advice. He was born with a full thick head of hair. I swear he looked like he had a sleeping cat on his head. Or an old man with a very unbelievable toupee. He is now 7 months old and his hair is long and luxurious. Both his dad and grandpa have very little hair. So the envy abounds in our family. Including from auntie Dawn.
-
Hi beautiful ladies- sorry for my last scary post and inability to check in before now. Just got home from hospital today....have been there 2 and a half weeks I think. Had brain mets, brain surgery, going for brain rads to hopefully shrink other mets. Wanted to let you know that I';m alive and kicking and willl be back to post and read more later. Thanks for all the good wishes.
-
Inmate--You and your sister are so right. He is the definition of happiness. What a precious little person. What a different world we would have if all children were loved and cared for as your nephew. Give your little guy a big love from me. He'll no doubt give you strength as you face your continued battle.
Getting really worried about Cocker. Wish she would check in.
Newbies, sounds like you are doing well. Keep it up.
My MO appointment yesterday yielded a US for "other breast." Probably nothing, but.........
Got more peaches and cucumbers. More jam and pickles coming up. Christmas gifts, I guess. Just planted beets. Hope they don't roast in the ground.
My best healing wishes to all, Jan
-
Hope 60, What a struggle you have been going through! I am sorry. I wish the best for you.
You will remain my thoughts.
BarbaraJo
-
Inmate, Sorry about skin mets again. Stay strong. You inspire me.
That little Baker James; such a beauty! Oh, I just want to smooch his cheeks over and over to hear him giggle!
BarbaraJo
-
Hope- Thank you for posting- we have all been a little worried. I am so sorry to hear your troubles confirmed mets. I really, really hate cancer. I hope the surgery and rads can eliminate those damn things and get you feeling better.
Inmate- Well crap! It sure is true that life just isn't fair or this wouldn't be happening to you. I admire your attitude and hope your docs can get an effective plan of action going.
-
Hope......thank you for checking in. I will continue to send all my love your way.
Jan.....so sorry you have to go through the test and wait. Sheeh! Little Baker James has had a rough start in life but is surrounded by his "village" that love him dearly. I will give him an extra smooch for you.
Barbara....He is the happiest little man I have ever seen. That smile is plastered on his face all day long, only interrupted by giggles. He gives me strength.
-
Damn, Hope, so sorry you're dealing with brain mets. It sounds like you're in good hands with your docs and I hope the rads blast whatever lingers to smithereens. Thinking of you and sending healing vibes. Thanks for checking in.
-
Cocker honey, where are you?
-
Luv....thanks on the info about rads. I will be chatting with my doc on Friday and will ask him again about the options for rads.
-
I did have labs done, but no feel up lol!
Inmate so sorry for your skin mets, I really pray this next chemo kicks some cancer ass! I love the pictures! You look fabulous and what a cutie he is!
Hope so sorry you are dealing with brain mets.
Praying for all you wonderful ladies! It is so nice to have a place to come where everyone understands each other. (((hugs)))
-
Hope I am so very sorry you have to face mets. I'm sending you strength and courage to fight this evil invader. Please know your TN sisters are all holding your hand with compassion and understanding.
We had a Disney event here recently. You may recall we live in the Sierra Nevada mountains and our neighbors are pretty wild. This day we had to stop to watch 2 young bunnies, several tiny chipmunks, and the whole family of quail as they held a neighborhood gathering. Way too cute! Of course we couldn't take a picture as they would scatter if we got any closer. Other years we have had foxes. Not my favorite animal as they made their den under the deck and mom and dad would bring all sorts of fresh meat to their young. Wild turkeys, bears, coyotes, deer, mountain lions, and more make life interesting. We need to move closer to medical care, but we won't because of the trees, the animals, and friends. There's nothing like the sound of whispering pines to soothe my anxiety. Jan
-
Hope: NO!!!!! I am SO sorry that your worst nightmare was confirmed. But it sounds like they were quick to act on it so here's hoping you'll be good as new soon. Thank you for checking in and updating us, we all were worried and thinking about you. xoxo
-
Hope....thanks for checking in...missed you lots..and dang on those freaking brain mets...hoping your treatments kill those freaking buggers out of you...blah...I hate cancer...
Oh Cocker...we can't do without you!
Jan..your home sounds amazing....fox are pretty interesting aren't they? we too have some critters around our house...a few coyotes which I don't like..but I love the deer, the raccoons, chipmunks, groundhogs, etc...our neighbors keep a mountain lion and a camel...kinda freak about the mountain lion though...
-
and Bernie...keep those jokes coming...I don't know where you get them from but keep 'em coming..we all need the laughs
soo..anyway..I'm finally reading 50 shades of gray...wow...Im just at the part where Ana is reading the contract...omg...not sure I could agree with that stuff no matter how good the sex is...hmm...I will keep reading
-
Hope - sorry about your brain mets. FC!!! We're here for you ((((((hugs))))))))
Cocker - where are you?
Titan - keep reading...the series keeps getting better. Book one was good but two and three were much better.
