Lara, I hate to be a Debbie Downer on the insurance side of things, and perhaps it's different if you are hiring in to a place that has "benefits". Maybe you could find out who they are contracted with and call them. Cancer IS a pre-existing. Some companies will dismiss it after you are clean for 5 years. Good Luck.
Alli, I wasn't impressed with the whole story line of the movie, and the end sucked. But the visuals were awesome!!!! I am going to continue with everything, after 6 weeks I get blood work done and can do the booster, which I do think I will opt for. I too will go for another session in 3-4 months, IF my blood work still shows that the estrogen/progesterone are down and the others are up. Hot flashes are stil the same. She wanted me to cut back on meds I take for that, but I'm not going to. Today I get my first shot at home, from DH of my vitamin B. He better be nice!

CynCyn (I talked to her last night) sure hope you get to go home today! She did confirm that they nicked her bowls. Dork, I thought you were confusing it with her prior surgery that put her into a coma. The difference was that this time they caught it and were able to fix it, which is why she had a longer stay in the hospital. But the first surgery, years ago, when they nicked them, they didn't catch it and sewed her up without fixing it. Cyn, correct me if I sayed dat wrong. She is a sneaky one tho, telling them her pain is about an 8, when really only at a 3. Hmmmmm, wonder why someone would do dat!!!! But seriously, I'm likin the fact that your pain is only a 3.

Well - my widdle girl turned 41 on Sat. I didn't go in for her little partay, but last Tues while I was in for treatment I stopped in and gave her a gift and a bottle of wine from the Erath Winery in OR. She was happy. Now we have to think of my DS and what to do for him...he will turn 40 in Sept. I was in middle of chemo when DD turned da big 40 so missed da big bash for her, hoping to do better for DS. My Stepson, da fireman, he turns 42 next month. I always think it cool dat my kids n DH son are all a year apart and bdays run 3 consecutive months. Weird...but obviously meant to be.
Going on a little road trip to check out some houseboats. Really parTay boats on lake mead at Echo Bay. They are like hotels on the water...5 queen beds, hot tub, tv, everything we need, including airconditioning. All we gotta take is food and booze. We gonna look at em and see if we like...den talk about a date to go n git tooopid dwunk...heehee.

Mema--thank you for the kind words! Hope you feel better quickliest! The steak and corn on the cob were very yummy, thank you, and I had the second one for dinner last night. Still yummy! I didn't realize how much I missed having a grill till now.
ORLA--have you told your docs about the light bothering you? This can be a sign of migraine headaches, which can be brought on by stress, and it's not like surgery etc is stressful.
Bernie--Those are a great set of languages to be fluent in!
Undy--HOORAY for no drains! And dogs DO count as kids, at least in my life!

DorKable--Congrats on 2 years!!!! Unfortunately looking back on what's happened comes with the territory, but it does get less intense as time goes on. And I can understand your hate for the city. That would drive me nuts!
ORLA--if you have insurance now, when you leave this company they will send you a Letter of Credible Coverage with the dates you were covered. As long as you do not go without coverage for more than 30 days (I think, I may be wrong, it may be 60) any pre-existing condition would be covered. I'm going to have to COBRA my health insurance for at least one month when I switch jobs to make sure I don't lose coverage since the new health insurance doesn't kick in until the 3rd month after hire. You can't be denied insurance through an employer. I say go interview. You don't have to accept just because you interviewed. If it's a better job and a better situation for you, go for it.

Wahine--oh,my dear, I feel so badly for you. It must be devastating to go through what you are with your folks. If only we could get new memory cards for our brains like we can for our computers. Coming home to a clean house AND clean dogs will be a real treat!

ORLA--is the job interview for a position in the same company or a different one? If it's in the same company there wouldn't be any change in the insurance, so I'm guessing it's for a different company. If the job is a better one for you, there are ways to make sure the insurance coverage continues, so don't pass on an opportunity just because of fear of losing insurance coverage. The key is to mantain coverage, no to be without insurance for any length of time. That may mean using the COBRA option, which is very expensive, or planning your last day at the old job and the first day at the new job carefully. Usually insurance covers until the last day of the month you resign, so if you resign early in the month and start the new job early in the month you may get new insurance starting the first of the month after you are hired right as the old insurance coverage ends. You have to be really informed and be careful, but it can be done. I just hate to see you miss out on a great job over insurance issues, but I absolutely understand.

Hello Girls,
Just wanted to jot a few words to let you know I am finally home and on the mend here..what a fiasco...nothing can go easy for me thats for sure...I've skimmed thru most posts and first want to say how yummy those jello shots looked...but now after eating so much jello..I hope not to see any for some time..as well as broth of any kind...I was npo for most of the time I was in the hosp however. All of what I read about what had been going on was accurate. The surgeon decided before going into surgery to drop the robot idea and got full throtle with the full abdominal surgery midevel style...lol..he did an excellent job...he did say I was a mess inside and it took him an hour to get thru all the scaring from before and the did nick my bowl in this process but quickly called for Doogie Howser to sew that up. It took a long time for my innerds to start functioning again..my pelvis was frozen and nothin was moving...the pain was excruciating so most of the time when I said my pain was an 8 or even a 10 it was the truth..when I started feeling better in that regard I fudged my numbers a little saying higher than it was just so they wouldnt lower my dosage because as it was it didnt feel like it was doing much for me...I left the hosp with my pain at about a tolerable 2 although they did think it was more like a 5 or 6...I am so glad to be home and get this chit behind me and move on...right now ..a nap is in order...I will return later tonight or maybe tomorrow..

I been reading here and must say tank ye goils for de support for mese new crib. I has to get to werk to hailp pay for de crib soon. I lost a half dey as I left early to go to mese PS. So I has a bit o'dilemina. Mese was scheduled to git me shitty right titty bixed up on 9/12 and mese closing date on de new crib, assuming it all werks out, is 10/31. Ironically, dat is dey ten year annivoysirree of where mese libs now! Ennyway, mese was tinking if dis all transirates, I could maybe take two weeks vacation instead of disability. PS sez I could get back dat quick plus mese got so bored at home last time. But moving, yikes, what has me done? hehe.
well sorry not to respond to all but mese jest has to hit de button and I's be werking. I left at noon and have ober 75 emails not to mention odder tings mese must do. So I bid you all a-do and wish you all peace and love in each of yer farts and yer hearts too!!

Hey people! Yes, alive and kicking! Finally feeling better, got the meds figured out! Too much to catch upon. I did finish clean up surgeries! And.... Started the tattoo, it is going to take 5 sittings, will be done early October, I am so furcited!

2 cl Coffee Liqueur
1 cl Bourbon
2 cl Irish Cream
2 cl Creme de Cacao
10 cl Milk
2 dashes Coca ColaDirections

The boat we looked at were very similar, only they wouldn't let us swim off the deck or tie a raft so we could float or swim across (50 yards maybe) to beach area. Anyway...was a bust, so gonna look into renting one from a diff marina that we can actually motor out anywhere we want on that lake. We'll see.

Awwwww Bernie......They are beautiful...thank you so much!! (( Bernie )) I sure missed being here and the way you all make me smile...I'll be good and take my pills and chillax...I did that today by sleeping until 1p...didnt do too much but shower and sit on the throne. Seems like things down south are still struggling to move properly which causes endless sitting and pain in the process. Damn bowel...just why cant the surgeons keep away from it? I was told I cant have any more surgeries down there...hope my apendix and galbladder hold up for the next 50 years or so ..or however long Im on this earth.
Orla...congratulations on your new bra.
NM...I promise to rest and take naps....I love to sleep so pleanty of time for healin. I am supposed to walk for 30 minutes a day also per my gynosurgeon.. Im a little scared to go too far as my bowels start moving when I do and I would hate to be to far away when they want to do their thing.
Thanks for the welcome back Juliet...its great to be out into the world again..I've missed it..tho In the hospital I get so acustome to the routine that its almost comforting to me and I miss being there in a way also..funny how that is ..maybe Im just mental.
Mema..great advice about taking some MOM or sumtin..I still have dulculax tabs..maybe I should take those but really my problem isnt consistancy right now..it just plain hurts no matter what kinda shape....ewww..tmi.

Cyn - LOL...well...I have to agree with the docs and the walking. It will help...try jes 15 mins then move up. Even 15 is better than none. I kno what you mean bout getting into the 'hosp groove' thing. With me (n mayb u) it was cuz I was raising 2 kids alone and the hosp was best rest I ever got...LOL. HATED the food tho! And they wud not let me leave til I had a well u kno...done da deed. My historectomy was in 1983, and in 2009 (my next big surg) they gave me stool softners cuz I lost part of my colon and had bowel resection too. Dunno why they wudn't do that in 83 but glad they do that now. Talk about tmi...teehee! Jes glad you are on the mend...(((Cyn))

having a cider, cyn seriously, i'm sure they discussed with you , the importance of not straining to go, as it increases abd pressure and puts additional pressure on your incision, also don't forget to hold or splint your incision if you need to cough or sneeze. hope everybody is having a good evening

Thanks for the info Juliet...no one told me about the straining thing at all...the only thing they told me was not to eat too much red meat and lettuce...lol...seriously. Coughs I can kind of controll the intensity of and they hurt like a bit** regardless...I cant imagine the pain with a sneeze...oh lord....I have a pillow that I can grab but its still horrible pain..
Bernie..what the heck is that in the pic??? Its cute as hell but what is it? I want one...lol...honestly more and more I want to adopt a dog...Im not supposed to have one here so I really have to wait but the urge in me is so strong..Im going to do some research ..maybe that will pacify me until I can get one. I think a priority when I move will have to be the acceptance of pets.
Mema...really nothing for me is tmi any more...I've lost all sense of modesty. I didnt get a walk in today but I walked around my house a few times...I went from the bedroom to the kitchen..to the laundry room to the car port to the bathroom quite a few times...I think thats enough for today.
Lovin the line up Sue..Im assuming the lack of Natty up there is because I have it in front of me..right?? LOL.
