Hi girls,
I spoke with Ms Cyndie this afternoon, poor girl is in so much pain. She did have some complications with her surgery that were tied to the big botched surgery she had years ago that had her in a coma for months. The surgeon had a difficult time going through all the old scar tissue from that prior surgery. And I think she said that they might have puncutred her bowel in the process. She sounded good but is not feeling so great. She may be in the hospital until Saturday. We need to keep praying for a quickliest recovery. I am sending her lots of virtual love and prayers. She told me to tell you all hello and she is thinking of all of you.
Allison got sprung before noon and her surgery went well too. Last I knew, she was resting comfortably. Prayers going out for her too.
That is the news for todey, brought to you by DorkY, writer, editor, dishwasher, printer and CEO of de HTL Bulletin.
NM, I am sooo happy for you with the new job, when do you start? I was actually tinking of you on Tuesday when I was at my oncologists office. There was a lady that was being sent to hospice, it broke my heart to witness the interaction between her, her son and the nurses. The staff were hugging her and telling her they loved her. that is when I thought of you. It sure was a reality check for me. I said to my darn self "but through the grace of God, there go I". Things seem to be going very well for you. Horray!! I will drink to you, cheers!
Orla, I hope you are able to connect with the person Lori mentioned. Isn't this just the best place for information? Forget google, the real deal is here on BCO. I thank God everyday that I stumbled in to this thread nearly two years ago. I seldomly post on other threads, this is my 2nd home. And right about the firemen, boom boom boom wow wow. Does that apply here? lol. I was tinking about having Stella light a fire so those hot men can come and put it out.
Shannon, I am glad that your results are nice. I hope your fills are easy. The first round was easy for me, but the second time, uh I won't talk about it other than to say it was more challenging. You will really get a kick out of getting your first fill, I found it amazing how the foobs got bigger as I watched. I am glad you had a nice birthday. Don't be a stranger now, your fans are waiting.
Lori, Mr. Big was driving the bus when he took me to the wrong hospital for Alli's surgery. Ya see, he was dwinking behind de wheel of our partay bus. Have a nice time away, you sure deserve some good times with your DH. YOu are both always werking, ick. And I am also praying that the pellets work for ya.
Kathy, thanks for the prayers on no more crashes. My car will be done either tomorrow or Monday. The estimate was 2600. There was additional damage other than my bumper. Funny ting that my five year old car now has a brand new front and back. I am hoping they got out the back quarter panel is fixed from when it was hit at the parking garage in Philly. They buffed it out pretty good when it was in last time but I could still see where I was hit. Ok ok, boring ~yawn~. Keep up the good times, I hope your Dad stays in a good mood for the rest of the trip. Big party is soon, yippeeee! I will be dere but you will not see me. hehe.
MemaSue, miss you in de lounge, hope you gits some time off werk soonliest. I gotz some Jose fer you. Miss you, Suz.
Bernie and Juliet, always enjoy the funny jokes and pics, tanks for de laughs!
Well I need to get a refill of those rulebreaker dwinkies, dey yummy, tanks NM.
Cheers, and titties up!

A little boy comes down to breakfast. Since they live on a farm, his mother asks if he had done his chores.
"Not yet," said the little boy.
His mother tells him no breakfast until he does his chores.
Well, he's a little pissed off, so he goes to feed the chickens, and he kicks a chicken. He goes to feed the cows, and he kicks a cow. He goes to feed the pigs, and he kicks a pig. He goes back in for breakfast and his mother gives him a bowl of dry cereal.
"How come I don't get any eggs and bacon? Why don't I have any milk in my cereal?" he asks.
"Well," his mother says, "I saw you kick a chicken, so you don't get any eggs for a week. I saw you kick the pig, so you don't get any bacon for a week either. I saw you kick the cow so for a week you aren't getting any milk."
Just then, his father comes down for breakfast and kicks the pussycat halfway across the kitchen.
The little boy looks up at his mother with a smile, and says, "You gonna tell him or should I?"

Good morning, Loungettes! Just taking a quick look at yesterday's post, and I didn't even add the DOTD recipe!! Where was my mind? I know, it was worrying about the yearly appointment with the BS. Well, that well just fine, all clear for another year!

Juliet--Now THERE's an eye-opening pic! Gotta love firemen!

Goldie--glad you feel better. If that doc gives you more medication ask to see the original container, and write down the lot number and expiration date from it. I think everything is on the up and up, but some basic safety info is missing. The doc simply may not know the drill, and if the doc does not have a nurse (LPN or RN) working in the office the staff wouldn't know about these details, either. Many offices do not have nurses working in them anymore--it's cheaper to hire techs or train someone off the street.
ORLA--thanks for giving Dorakable your phone #, we do like to keep track of our loungettes and worry if they go MIA.
Wahine--peaceful, alone time is a very, very good thing, isn't it? Hope you found your camera!
Undy--good for feeling more normal! Here's to feeling more normal every day from now on, and a painless first fill. And here's to getting the tubes out!

DorKable--Thanks for the update on CynCyn. I am praying for her, she's having such a hard time. This part of the journey is soooo miserable! Hooray for Alli getting sprung and home comfy! I just got my letter of hire, my start date is Aug 6th. My last day at the current job is Aug 16th. August is going to be an interesting month! Yeah, going to Hospice is an emotional and difficult time for patients, families, and staff. At least partly it's the fact that every one of us will be at that point some day, unless we die unexpectedly. As odd as it may sound I find Hospice work very fulfilling. I feel priveledged to help families during this time of life, and get satisfaction from seeing patients die in comfort and dignity and control. To have an opportunity to concentrate on this kind of nursing is a wonderful thing for me at this time of my life OK< so I'm weird, this is news to anyone????
Mrs. Vino--Glad all went well! Enjoy the percotinis and fukitols!
Maggie--all of us here are determined to enjoy life despite the rat ba$#ard. There IS life after diagnosis, and some of us just aren't going to let the rb run our lives!
I wore this shirt to my recon surgery. Nobody noticed but me, but I still have the shirt and it still makes me smile! BERNIE!!!!!!! Really!!! LOL!

Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD is the Oops, I Forgot the Recipe!
1 oz Apple Schnapps
1/4 oz Kirschwasser
3/4 oz Cherry BrandyDirections
Pour into an old-fashioned glass filled with broken ice. Garnish with a twist of lime, and serve. -
Morning...will try and ketchup...had to post dis funny tho.
Undy - good going. Sooo happy fer ya. N taday, drains outta heara!!
Alli - slurp slurp at da percontini fountain...yahoo.
DorKa - sooo funny ewe talking bout watchin ur foobs git bigger...bet it is a strange feeling. Tanks fer being da editor maximus for da HTL. Glad ewe car gittin bixed too. I'm not working today or working out...not feeling berry goot.
NM - Congrats for da new job. When I was in the pod on Tues, my nurse sed she was going do take the 'visiting' position (like a vacay relief at all 3 chemo centers) next week for how long I dont kno. But I said 'my hat is off to all you and I've often wondered how you handle getting to kno us pts pretty intimately (sharing stories, pics, etc of family, friends, pets) and then lose us to this RB' . She said that she worked hospice for 11 years and she found it (and what she's doing now) extremely rewarding. That she loves getting to kno her pts, knos she'll lose em, but wudn't change the bonds and the knowledge she is helping for anything. I guess I'm trying to say....I see you, NM, when I interact with these chemo nurses, I hear your care, compassion, Your Whole Heart, come through on this thread for the sake of helping us and I just kno you give the same to all your pts too. ooo getting mushy here...wish I could ((((NM))) you for real...
OHHHH...n I jes LOVE that t-shirt and I want one...where can I find one?
Orla - I like it!! Gotta still go back and read up on previous pages, but sounds like you are going thru some 'not so pleasant' stuff...(((ORLA)))
Bernie & Juliet - lub da yokes n firemen...mmm mmmm mmmmm.
OK...more later I hope after I read more
LUBZ N HUGZ!
-
Crap funny didn't post...oh well.
Cyndielouwho - berry sad to hear da doc had a hard time gitting to ur parts in der. And I am PRAYING dat dey DIDNOT puncture your colon or anything else. O....please git better soon!! (((Cyn)))
Hi ChrissyB!
Lori - Wow jes read your posts last few days....warning warning warning...oh yeah. Sooo glad NM and the others gave some conforting advice, but I'd still follow thru with some of NM's and go see ur pharm guy. BUT ....all dat can be done next week, AFTER ur wonderful time in Laughlin!!!
NM - Congrats on ALL GOOT sign from your doc!! So how was dem juicy steaks on da grill last night?
Kathy - Big party tamary right? I've not been very focused lately. But I do remember you will be going home next week, 25th I think? You have sooo much to do still it sounds like. Are you pooch sick? something about DH changin vets or sumpin? I missed it sorry, but you, mom n dad, dh and furry babies all in my prayers.

Sally was driving home from a trip in Northern Arizona, when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of the road. She stopped the car and asked the woman if she would like a ride. She thanked her and got in the car.
After resuming the journey and a bit of small talk, the Navajo woman noticed a brown bag on the seat next to Sally. She asked her what was in the bag.
Sally said, "It's a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband."
The woman thought for a moment, then said, "Good trade."

Hi girls-I got the drains out, yay! Alli- how you doing? Cyn- Hang in there. Orange- I'm getting the hang of the kindle, it's like a computer basically. As for the bleeding it did stop when I put ice on my chest. Never so happy to get rid of that pain catheter. I didn't take off work because I have my own business. And no kids unless you count my 2 dogs. Hope everyone has a good weekend, g'night

Good morning goils,
Sitting here having my coffee and reflecting back; today is the two year anniversary of my DMX. I am trying to think of today as a sailabration as it is also the day I sailabrate being two years RB free, yippee. Let's drink! It is an emotional day and I was hoping the day would pass without me thinking back. But it is what it is and I refuse to mourn the loss of my big goils! They were saggy old goils ennyway.
I have to pick up my car this morning from the collision center. As much as I like driving the little Prius, I do miss my own wheels. And I am hoping that the damage from the hit n run in the philly parking garage is also fixed. I am still pissed off about that one. The nerve of some people. I look forward to the day that I do not have to drive into the city to see my PS. I really do hate the city, it is stinky and the air is nasty. There was a time when I was stuck in the traffic, clad with pain pump and drains....I screamed out my car window "I HATE THIS FN CITY" lol.
Unde', a big congrats on no more drains and pump! Time to start drinking again, yess ma'am, yippeeee!
Alli, congrats on great results. And glad you are being a good goil and resting. Hope to see you tonight here! Yipeeeeee!
Talked to Cyn's mom yesterday, she will be in the hospital until at least monday, keep the prayers coming for her comfort and healing. She needs them.
ORLA, Bernie, Juliet and all my breasties, have a stellar dey.
cheers, peace and loads of LOVE to all yese! now let's git dis partay started!!!!
