Gorgeous, Blue - I LOVE the pink.  Definitely "sumpthin's happenin" - it's going to be in the low 100's here today - that's never happened, just never.

Glenna - those "premeds" are what got me thru the treatment too.  Changed a lot in the past few years.  IF, just IF, you ever have a problem with nausea, make sure to ask for EMEND.  It's more expensive than some other meds, but definitely the most effective. The steroids made me constantly hungry, but could only eat mashed potatoes, such a weird time, but it DOES save our lives.

Meant to say: I too love Brian Andreas, I used to have several of his prints framed, also his books.

Blue, I had a wonderful aunt who was able to get hibiscus to grow and bloom, in Denmark!

I just walked the dogs and started the mowing.  It's already 90 degrees here and very humid.  arghhh.

Blue .. love the hibiscus.  It's great to see a pic of Lilah too.  I sure miss her and Virg too.  Sure wish we were all getting together again this year at NOTL.

Glenna .. if you wanted to host a get together, I would love to come.  I think I'm about 4 or 5 hours south of you.  We have lots of gals that live in VA and in the DC area.  I also have lots of supplies I could bring.  I hosted a gathering for 20 people for three days at my home last year.  It's a blast!   It's lots of fun getting to know people in person that you've been friends with forever.

Sunflowers ... I have the same problem with my belly.  I lost a lot of weight, but the belly area is still a problem.  I'm just not willing to do situps to get rid of it.  Too lazy.

Well, I'm off to the dentist soon to have the bone sticking out of my gum removed.   I'm having a huge panic attack about it (shortness of breath, heart palpitations, etc).  I know that fool is going to hurt me.  I hate this dentist.  I don't know why they didn't do it right last week when they pulled the tooth.  Thank goodness you can't tell I'm missing a tooth when I smile.

lindasa - we have a lot of windows and have birds fly into them, too - hawks have increased at an amazing rate, and when they chase smaller birds the birds just go crazy trying to get away from the hawks.  That could be what you're seeing as well.

This is what I saw when I went out in the backyard today...

Dogs were barking like crazy and when I went to investigate there was a baby crow hanging upside down in one of our trees.  I was not sure if it was injured so I got my garden gloves and reached for it and it went onto my hand.

We did not see any large crows flying around and it was stretching its wings so I thought it was not hurt.

Then mama crow came swooping out "caw, caw, caw" and this little bird looked like he was hanging his head ashamed...

He then flew off my hand and went up to her in the tree and she was really chewing him out...

My young daughter said "I would hate to be that crow right about now."

Ang, that is so cool.  You're lucky, though, that mama crow didn't attack you, as they are pretty protective of their babies - and their beaks are big and hard!

May I suggest that you get things checked by another dentist?  Having your jaw bone exposed doesn't sound good. 

Ouch Bren. I hope that gets better real soon. I hate dental procedures and dental pain. Whe I had my wisdom teeth pulled when I was 22, one of them was really hard to get out. It turns out it had grown into my jawbone but somehow that didn't show on the x-rays. It still gives me the shivers to think about it.

I would love to come to a get-together sometime. Good thing there isn't one this year. Between our sewer repair and other household projects this year, my money has run out. It was money well spent, we needed to do what we did, but I wish it could have gone to something more fun.

Tomorrow is my 31st wedding anniversary. Can't believe it's been that long. I still feel like I'm fresh out of high school (until I look in the mirror.)

Crows are high on the list of most intelligent animals, according to a countdown show I once watched on Animal Planet.  They can tool make- bend a twig to get something out of a bottle.  I've always liked crows, despite their fierceness.

Rosemary, hope the dentist is painless.  I hate it too, which is probably why I don't go unless a tooth breaks. 

I'm trying to do a get together for another thread - for non-reconstructed women on  "I look for other flat-chested woman" in September in New York City- otherwise I'd offer to host something either in NJ or in the woods of Vermont.  

My DH's birthday present to me just arrived - a stetson hat.  It's a little big, and I look kind of silly, but it's fun.

Sounds like I was lucky that mama crow did not get me in her radar.

It made for a nice "teachable moment" regarding wildlife.

My dh yells hawk, too.  Drives me crazy, as he is usually driving at the time and doesn't seem to think it is necessary to look at the road if a hawk is watching over it...

blue - there're a bunch of signs in our neighborhood for a "lost" siamese cat - I'm fairly certain a hawk got it.  We've a LOT of hawks in our area, as well as both golden and bald eagles.  The crows attack the hawks and eagles when it's nesting time and drive them away.  It can be very entertaining to watch.  It's also cool to watch the hawks and eagles mating and wonder if they'll survive as they plummet towards earth seemingly unaware of the impending calamity.  But they always seems to realize at the last second and fly.
