Thanks for all the prayers for my sister. Doctor that did exam yesterday is fairly confident it is benign after reading all reports from local Doctor and his exam. He is concerned with thickness of vaginal wall...?? Anyway she is having complete hysterectomy July 23 and path report will be back about five days after surgery to confirm if it is benign. They strongly recommend I get the BRAC testing with family history and the fact that my BC was TN. So I guess I will get that done. It is a simple test,I just keep putting it off. Out of sight out of mind kinda thing:). I made pulled pork in the crockpot with sweet banana peppers. It smelled so good when I came home tonight and tasted even better. Thanks for being my suppport. You gals are awesome. Marsha

    Yay for good news ATeamNana!!

I'm back to surgery land tomorrow but hopefully this is the LAST one. I can hardly believe that it's been almost a year since this whole thing began.

I hope you all are eating well and losing steadily - it's gotten quiet here, so I hope that's not a bad sign. As for me, it's been hit and miss with a trip out of town etc... But I'm mostly back on track now.

    Hugs to you all.

I think it's been quiet because we are al so busy enjoying the summer, I hope. Good luck with your surgery. All I have left are tats. Maybe this fall.

I've been doing ok with the diet. Staying fairly steady in weight though. I'm keeping on the 17 day diet as best I can but I've been doing a lot of socializing which calls for cocktails and I love cocktails. Limiting myself to 2 and then I'm usually back to water.

I've been making Sun green tea and keeping that in my thermos for work. Great on hot days. Upping my activity level to 3, 10 to 20 mile bike rides and 2 long yoga sessions a week plus swimming when I can. I'm really enjoying the rides. So, even though I haven't lost more weight my body is looking toner.

    Have a happy summer everyone.

It has been a busy summer here as well. I have a cousin that has been here a week at a time a few weeks in june and back here this week. So needless to say I have not been sticking to diet totally. But at least I'm not gaining:). We also had a college student stay with us the month of June. My life will be back to normal soon:) I agree I think summer keeps us busier so hopefully we will all keep coming back to this board. Love hearing from you all:).

Sitting on my butt right now, slept all afternoon after we got home from surgery. The paperwork says that I'll likely see some weight gain that lasts for at least a few weeks. So I guess I'll just keep trying to eat well and not worry about the actual weight numbers.

My PS said I need to move though, it's been so hot though, that I'm not sure how much I'm willing to spend time outside. I hope the heat breaks soon.

Hi ladies! Hope your feeling better every day CookieMonster. This heat makes it difficult to do much exercise. It's quite a task to stay hydrated & make healthy choices during the summer. I've been camping at the ocean all week & ate better than years past, much less junk food. But I did have my roasted marshmallows :-) & some other goodies. I will have to go on the scale tomorrow, I'm not expecting it to be good. But this will snap me back into gear, that & getting the support from you guys.

Hello to kindergarten, ATeamNana, Snobird & anyone else I forgot. Hope you are all enjoying the summer & feeling well.

I definitely notice feeling better each morning, which is good.

I haven't been logging my food since the surgery, but I'm not eating terribly either. The scale on Thursday last week was basically the same as the previous week and given that it was the day after surgery, I suspect I was down a bit and with fluid retention/swelling post op it didn't show.

I'm definitely swollen, but am feeling almost normal - am living in the surgical vest/bra that I was put in post-lumpectomy that the PS said I could put on instead of the wrap he wrapped me up in that was falling off the morning after surgery. I think I'm getting some feeling  back in the boob and it feels weird right now, but that's to be expected. My follow up with him is on Friday.

My brain occasionally throws me for a loop when I worry that the path report will come back with them finding bad stuff in this breast - but I'm pretty confident that it'll be fine, my brain just does this sometimes.

I hope you're all staying as cool as possible. Our A/C has been running an awful lot the past few days.

Hi Everyone! We are in the midst of another heat wave!! Hope everyone is staying well hydrated. Kindergarten- 116 degrees??? Can you even breathe in that or go outside? I am only up about 1 1lb since the 4th of July, so over all not too bad considerring the eatting & drinking I did. I did take a 6 mi bike ride yest evening, I hope to do it again tonight when & if it ciiks down a bit. I would really like to keep with the weight loss as I may have some more surgery in the fall, a bit of a revision( I think) & nipples. I keep changing my mind what I want to do, one day it is tatoo's & the next surgery. Anyone have any input on this? I did have my 1 year follow up scan & all seems to be good. It took 3 weeks to get the results, I was getting so nervous. I am looking forward to not thinking about cancer everyday.  It is getting better though....I try not to read BCO much anymore ( I was addicted to it) I often come on to see how you lovely ladies are. CookieMonster I hope you are feeling better everyday.

I switched about 1 month ago from femara to tamoxifan & my joints are so much better, I feel younger again, more like myself!!! Looking forward to ramping up the exercise. Have a wonderful evening....((((hugs)))

Hi,Tenaj, Yes, it was 116 degrees in Palm Desert, but no humidity. Surprisingly, we actually golfed and walked. Everyone thought we were crazy to go there then, but we use less points on our time share there. The heat does not bother me too much and my hubby loves it. They have misting machines everywhere. And the pools are very refreshing. We sure have become frugal since we have retired. Wink We have to save money for our new grandbaby when she comes!!!!! But now we are back in Torrance, where the high is 75 and the low is 69. You are doing great with your weight loss and exercise. Congratulations on your one year anniversary and scan results. I promise, it does get easier as you get farther out from diagnosis. I am glad you are feeling better with Tamoxifan. I was post menopausal, so I had to take Aromasin for 6 years. I am done now. Hugs to you and everyone hereSmile

Hi everyone! I hope everyone's doing well. Yay for the good news for your sister ATeamNana!! How's everyone else doing food and exercise wise? Me, I've gotten a few days of LOTS of steps, but not solid exercise, just moving around a lot. And this week is PMS week, which explains why I want to eat everything in sight! HOpefully I can temper it some. My biggest challenge right now is finding a  bra that's comfortable. So far, I can't wear my underwires and cami's aren't comfortable, so choices are limited - any suggestions anyone? We have Target nearby, but not Walmart. I don't want to spend a lot of money because I'll need different bras once the swelling goes down and I'll buy good ones then.

CookieMonster-I have bought about 15 bras since my exchange. The most comfortable one to wear is a barely there type of sports bra I bought at Kohls. It is always my go to bra when I come home from work. My next favorite is a Warner's bra #2003. Another good one a got from a special boutique is by amonena, style Lara. Good luck!!

ATeamNana that's great news on your sister!!!

    Have a great day!

Thanks tenaj, I may make a run to Kohls today. It's feeling better this morning than last night so I think it's the bra as I didn't sleep in one.

Happy Friday!! Hope everyone is doing well. I've been enjoying this very hot summer so far. I also have been loosing the same 2-3lbs for the past month. I guess not too bad considering the ice cream, BBQ's, entertaining & drinking I've done. I really do want to loose another 10lbs, I'm going to have to buckle down.....

Kindergarten, how's the expecting family doing???

Hi to ATeamNana, CookieMonster, Snobird & everyone else I may have missed stopping by. Enjoy your weekend :-)

Hi, there, Tenaj!!!!! I know what you mean about buckling down, I am at a standstill myself. I have not gained, but not losing either. I also want to lose another 10 lbs. Also, sure would like good thoughts and prayers right now, my blood work was not the greatest after all. My CA 27.29  and ALP came back slightly abnormal. My onc here is the first one to ever do this test, so I don't have others to compare it to.  She did tell me not to panic, these tests are not always reliable, but of course I panic. I will have repeat bloodwork done in a month. In the meantime, we are still waiting for our granddaughter. Liz is due any day now. Can't wait!!! Thanks in advance for your good thoughts and prayers. Hugs to all here, and I hope you have a great weekend.

Dear Tenaj, Thank you so much for your positive post. You are so sweet!!! I definitely have a strong faith, wonderful family and great friends on this board. Hubby and I went for a 5 mile walk and feel great. I am going to lose at least 5 more lbs before my next bloodwork. My onc told me that the worst scenario would be that I would have to go on aromasin again. No big deal, I can do that. Thanks again!!!!!Smile
