Snobird, good to hear from you and nothing keeps you down. Please let us know how everything goes with the Derm. Hubby and I rode our bikes everywhere yesterday!! Our son needed to borrow our car. I think we rode a total of 10 miles. My hubby is such a trooper, he wears his helmet only to appease me. We look a little dorky, he,he,he!! Other people look so cute in them. Maybe it is because we are oldWink Hopefully, I undid the damage from the weekend!!! Friday is weigh in. I am tweaking the 17 Day Diet and find it is still working. I just can't go days without bread, then I over eat it. I eat gluten free and oat bran bread, once a day now, alternating between the two breads. Gosh, what we do to maintain, thank you Ladies for always keeping me accountable!!!! Any of you out there have LE as well?? I was reading that having LE causes fluctuating weight gain, because of the LE fluid retention. I was told to keep doing my LE exercises and drink lots of water!!! Would appreciate any advice from all of you wonderful ladies. I am maintaining my weight so far, just not losing it as consistently and as fast as before.  Hugs to you all!!!!!

Well, I got on the scale this morning and my weight was back the same as it was 2 weeks ago before my trip. No harm no foul, right? I still have some to lose though, will just keep plugging away.

I only have today and tomorrow to work and then I'm done for much of the summer, YAY!!

Double YAY to you CookieMonster!!! On being off for the summer & getting back on track!!

Snobird you are keeping the positive momentum!!! Stay strong & motivated.

My daughter came home last night!!!! I haven't seen her in more than 2 months :-(

We got up & exercised together. About 15 min of a zumba workout, 15 min of a jillian Michael DVD she brought, 15 min of shaping that I DVR. It was a lot of fun. Now I feel a little less guilty cause we're going out for a ride to a delicious bakery/coffee shop in West Hampton. Going to to some walking/shopping in the town.

    Have a great day everyone!!

Dear CookieMonster, You are doing great!!!! Keep plugging away. It is working!!!! Enjoy your summer off. I remember those days after teaching nine months and even though I loved those kids, I needed the summer to regroup and spend time with my own family!!!!! Hi,Tenaj, Jillian Michaels is so fit and in shape. I tried her diet a year or so ago, and I did lose some weight. I never stick to one diet long, except for this 17 Day Diet, but I am even tweeking that. I hope you enjoyed your ride to the bakery/coffee shop and ate something absolutely delicious. You deserve it!!! I did some cleaning and sculpting today. I then took a walk with weights for 45 minutes. Have a great night, everyone!!!!

Hi ladies!! Sounds like we are all still doing well in our efforts. One day at a time - making better choices. I really appreciate each of you. Such encouragement. I am trying to get housework done then start packing for trip to chicago area. I know I will eat some things not so healthy but the place we are staying has a fitness center and pool so I hope to offset some of my not so healthy food choices with some added exercise:). The good thing is I can start back on cycle one when I return. Have a great weekend everyone!

Just relaxing on my porch this afternoon after a busy week. Lost 1 lb this week but I was really on the go. Did a farmers market on Thursday and got some great greens, organic strawberries and raisen bread for my hubby. It's 1/2 gone and I haven't even had a piece. Sticking to the plan as best I can. Starting to drink my green tea cold with lemon.

Hope to go try a couple of SUP boards out tomorrow. Have a good weekend everybody.

Snobird...glad you are getting in some relaxation time after a busy week.  I enjoyed my pool this afternoon with 2 of my grandsons & my sister...It felt sooo good.  What is a SUP board?  I am down 1 more pound also..Yay.  I have been taking the green tea supplements.  Not real fond of the drink.

I wanted something good for supper and almost fixed something very unhealthy but then remembered a snack a friend made for me.  Sliced zuchinni very thin..dipped in Olive Oil then lighty coated with italian bread crumbs. Baked in the oven and then sprinkled with Parmesan Cheese.. I also made some chicken with garlic.  The Zuchinni may not be totally acceptable on the 17 diet plan but much better choice than I was going to make:)

ATeamNana, zucchini is good. Make sure you use whole grain bread crumbs and that will be better than the white flour ones. Hot here today. I made tuna salad on a large bed of greens with avocado, grape tomatoes, cukes, and carrots. Dessert was fresh strawberries with whipped cream. Tomorrow I make my husband blueberry pie for Fathers Day so that will be my cheat. Big picnic at my house but it's potluck so not too much work. The standard fare, burgers, salads, etc. I'm saving my carbs for the pie though. Hate to bragg, but I make the best blueberry pie according to all my friends and I got to tell you it is out of this world with vanilla ice cream. There won't be a piece left! And that is a good thing!

Hi Kathy. We went to Chevy's (Mexican) for lunch with son and his family and daughter in law's parents. Then shopping. Snobird. The breadcrumbs I used only had 110 calories per cup and only 2 gr of sugar so not too bad I may try it again tonight with my husbands gluten free flour and see how that turns out. Hope your party went well.

    Hi to everyone else!

We had a great picnic and good food. Mostly healthy stuff too. I wasn't paying attention and burned the bottom of the beans but everyone ate them anyway. 3 different pies, blueberry, rhubarb and raspberry with ice cream of course. I had a taste of all three. Hid a slice of blueberry for my husband for breakfast tomorrow . Hope he forgets about it. Hehehe.... No blueberry pie left other than that piece. Thank god the other pies went home with their bakers so no temptations. A little too much vino tonight could ha ve a headache in the AM. Pretty good weekend all in all. Hope you all had a good one too.

Hi ladies!!! Sorry I've been MIA.....been busy having lots of fun & good eatting. Unfortunately the scale shows it. I gained 3.5 lbs since last Wednesday, of course that's the day my daughter came home. She cooked & brought with her sauce, chicken cutlets, cheesecake , fresh linguini & ravioli. Her & her boyfriend of 6 yrs wanted to do something special for us while he "officially" asked for permission to marry her. Needless to say I cried & had to eat that delicious food. Everyday it was something else, then my son came home & the celebrations continued.....so it was non stop. Today I am back on track....hope those pesky lbs come off quick....

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. :-)

    Hi everyone,

I'm officially on summer break now which is good and bad - no cafeteria/food at school to tempt me, but also less of a schedule and some unhealthy food around here.

This weekend starting on Friday was food filled, we'll see what the scale says on Thursday morning.

On the good side, I walked for almost an hour today (7000+ steps) - I think I need different shoes, because my feet hurt now, I may order some running/walking shoes.

Other than that I'm just happy to be on break right now. Have a great week everyone.

I hope you are all doing great, it takes perserverance and hard work, doesn't it?? YOu are all wonderful and very dedicated and diligent with this weight loss journey. I had a little too much to eat yesterday on Father's Day, but hopefully worked it off today at the gym. I am drinking lots of water as well.  Hugs to you allSmile

Hi, AteamNana!!!!! I hope you have a great time in Chicago, and you are not corny to bring your scales. You are dedicated to the cause!!!!! Have fun and enjoy the good food in Chicago. You can go back to normal when you get home. I bet the Westin has a nice fitness center, a pool too. Rich and I just came back from a walk. Our new exercise for eye-hand coordination as we are walking is to bounce a ball back and forth to each other and try to catch it with opposite hands each time. We are getting crazy in our old age, anything to keep the love alive, he,he,he!!!!Laughing We are trying to stay in shape when our new granddaughter arrives in August. Yikes!!!! Lily Rose will be coming soon!!! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!!!! Hugs to you all!!!!

Kathy you know the baby's name how exciting. My son and daughter in law kept the names of all four grandsons a secret until they were born. We did know they were boys:). We had fun trying to guess the names. I love being able to be crazy in our old age. hahaha. You will have such fun with that precious baby girl. Our second grandson turns 6 in August. Of all things he wants a typewriter for his birthday. Well I have searched for child toy typewriters online and did not come up with one I'm willing to pay the money for. He also loves cases to carry things in. Last year for Christmas we got him a Large tool Box with a lock. He keeps all his special stuff in it:). Well on the way here we stopped at every antique shop we could find. We bought him a regular vintage typewriter in a case that works for 27 dollars. I need to get a new ribbon but it works great. I just have to clean it up. He will be very excited. Now if only I can hold out until August to give it to him. Tomorrow is the day I go to lunch with fellow TN BC friend then shopping. I'm looking forward to that. Well guess I better hit the hay. Nite all!

    Hello Weight Loss Warriors!

Optifast continues to go well; I lose a pound and a half a week. I could lose more if only I would get my butt up out of this chair and move.

Unfortunately, I've run out of steam. Haven't been to the gym, haven't been to water aerobics, haven't ridden my bike. I just want to lay under the fan and read.

Of course, it hasn't helped that it was 109 degrees here yesterday, and the air quality was UNHEALTHY for everyone....not just those of us with asthma.

I know I could lose faster if I exercised, but my rationale is that if it comes off slow then maybe I won't need a tummy tuck!!! Wink

Only 3 more weeks on complete meal replacement! I am looking at my little shake packets with longing...telling them "I'm going to miss you!"

Transition starts July 11th, and we s-l-o-w-l-y start adding food back into our diets. For the first week, we swap out one shake for half a cup of veggies and 3 oz of protein. The list of things we are allowed is pretty strict, and most people don't want to go off the liquid diet. But they tell us we'll continue to lose even when we add food back in. Ooooookay!!!! Undecided

I just need to make sure I am healthy enough for exchange surgery in September. They tell me I'll be cleared for general anesthesia after three weeks on Transition, but I just remember how weak I was when I came home after my BMX. I was eating the same food as my DH, who has kidney disease, and restricted to less than 25 grams of protein a day.

I read here on BCO that we need around 100 grams of protein in order to heal, so I went out and got protein drinks and organic turkey jerky for snacks, and felt better almost immediately. So I'll need to work with the Optifast docs to see if they can tweak my diet.

Congratulations to all those who exercised and lost weight this week, and kudos to those who didn't, because they had special celebrations and decided to take advantage of them!!! That's what makes life worth living!

    Have a great week, everyone!!!

Hi, Blessings, Wow, you are experiencing some hot weather. It is June gloom here and pretty cool here at night. My son has asthma too, hope you are doing O.K.. You are doing so great on Optifast, I really admire your will power with sticking to it. Last night, I had a little bit of a meltdown with snacking, I have not done that for a long time.Yell I am not going to eat anything until I feel hungry again. I do have a lunch date with a friend, so I will try to stick to a salad. Thoughts and prayers are coming your way as you prepare for your exchange surgery!!! I hope everyone has a great day. I am so glad I can come here to stay motivated even when I go off the wagon, sometimes. Thanks and hugs to all!!!Smile

Hi kindergarten, Lily Rose, what a beautiful name. How exciting for all of you. I can't wait to do baby shopping! They have such different things now & I know I won't be able to help myself in the stores....better keep working. You are doing so well taking care of yourself. It's good for the soul to treat yourself sometimes. Your lifestyle is healthier & you will continue to feel good. I love your comments about bike riding.....

ATeamNana, hope your having fun on your trip, enjoying friends, shopping & good food.

Blessings, you are the weight loss warrior!! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind words about my daughter, it's exciting to think of her as engaged. I mean finally, they are together almost 7 years. They want a small wedding, like a destination or get away to a bed & breakfast in Maine or something. All of it sounds fun.

I exercised & ate better today, could do better on the water. Keep plugging away.....thanks for all your support.

    (((hugs))))

Hi,Tenaj!!! I bet you and your husband are smiling from ear to ear. Small weddings are wonderful, you can spend more time talking with your guests and family!!! I am sure you are going to have so much fun with your daughter as you start to plan. Have they picked a date yet? I did alot of walking today, trying to walk when I get the urge to eat. Not sure why my appetite has reared its ugly head again!! My hubby has been busy helping with my son's baseball business, so I am walking alone for right now. I did have lunch with a friend, but she is so tiny and cute!! I hope everyone had a good day!!!!

Kathy she didn't pick a date yet, I think they were more tired of referring to each other as boyfriend/girlfriend...they still have about 3-4 more years of school, but I'm thinking before they get their PhD.

That sounds like a great type of business & fantastic your husband could help. If we could plan the future.......my husband & I would love to start a business that the kids could come back to Long Island & everyone could work together. It's a dream but you never know, with his experience & their education the ideas are endless.

I hear ya on the appetite......don't go to Costco, I did all I could to not buy those chocolate blueberries last week. Next time I shop I hope I'm as strong! LOL

Hi Tenaj, there is no hurry. They sound very committed to each other. Their education has to come first. But you and daughter can still have fun shopping and planning for the big day! Yes, those darn blueberries, I am not going down that aisle at Costco, ha , ha,!! Going to the gym tomorrow, less carbs and lots of water!!!!

Hi ladies. One more day of unhealthy eating:). Then back at it! I got a mani n pedi today. I have not done that in a very long time. Shopped the afternoon and now I am tired. Can I count trying on about ten pairs of capris in various sizes as exercise. Hahaha. Only bought some nylon sports type. Now I can look good when I walk hehehe. Having a very relaxing time. Hubby n I are going to a place called wildfire tonight for supper. They have an extensive gluten free menu for him:). They have a farmers market over on the next street. Soon as DH gets out of his last seminar we are going to walk over there. Maybe I'll buy something healthy. Have a good day tomorrow ladies!

Hi kindergarten! Good job being consistent with the gym & eatting healthy. I'm sure you look great & are feeling much healthier.

I've got 1 more lb to go to get back to my low from last week. We're in a heat wave so it's been easy to drink lots of water, but too hot to ride my bike or walk too far.

Hope your feeling well Snobird, sendng positive healthy vibes your way.

Hi everyone!    Yay I'm back home and get to sleep in my own bed tonight.  We had a wonderful time.  Had some great food.  Gained 3 pounds...yuck! I don't go back to work until monday so may not get back to healthy eating until then. I'm actually craving some veggies and salad.  I did not eat too many sweets during the trip but I did eat some bread which I don't normally do.  Sounds like everyone is doing good. i think I am going to go back to Cycle 1 for the most part until I get back on track. See ya all tomorrow:)

Hi all,  Sounds like some of you had some wonderful times. I hope those under the weather are feeling better now.

We have a friend staying with us and both yesterday and today he walked with me. It was nice to have the company. I just have to keep it up once he's gone, we'll see how well that works, but I'll definitely try.

I was basically the same this week, but I'm not surprised. Today I buckled down and really paid close attention to what I ate and was better, hopefully I can keep up that attitude and work, we'll see.

I figure that if I can at least exercise I'm in decent shape.

Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!!
