I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

No Yorkie, you are asking the right questions. Some people on this board hate me for my directness and have ousted me many a time. I was and continue to be raked over the coals at other websites but I don't care as long as they leave my family out of it. They even made fun of my avatar a while back. Poor Jim, what the heck does he have to do with anything. I'm a STAR, don't you know?
So the mods keep us under lock and key because there have been major disruptions on this thread.
ETA - We ARE constantly being watched by alties and rebubs, just so you know.
-
Blue, NOW you tell me that I ended up in the troublemakers' corner?

-
Yep, fellow trouble-maker!
-
ME? Trouble-maker? I have NO idea what you are talking about. None!
-
P.S. I don't want to take full credit for this thread being invisible as we have many highly intelligent people on this thread who are disliked because their posts actually make sense.
-
LOL Momine!
-
Ok, now I KNOW I belong here! The "dwinking" thread is just funny, this one is funny with a twist (of lemon?). Maybe like Jewish with an explanation. I do get that we have to watch our backs. Was proud of myself yesterday when I didn't take the bait.
-
I feel stupid...what's a rebub?
-
Making sense is not always held in high regard on the interwebz, or off for that matter.
-
roflmbo! Want all the versions? I'll let others rhyme in as I fear for my membership! It's not a spelling error either bub! Just love Jimmy Stewart!
-
CLC, looks like a typo for "repub," a republican.
-
I have a wacky sense of humour. Please bear with me.
-
See you guys later. My DD is coming over so we can decorate the bomboniere for my other DD's wedding shower/pool party next month.
-
I'll bear with you... I hope you bear with me...I have no sense of humor... At least I tell my dh and bf that, but they just laugh.
-
Good morning fellow trouble makers - pinko commie flexatarian gangstas - proud to be here, too. Like Yorkie, only been here a short time, but I feel so at home.
My tooth broke off last night. My dentist of course doesn't answer his phone - or his pager - so I'm off to an unknown dentist for immediate assistance and hoping he knows what he's doing.
-
This thread is fun - especially when it moves quickly. We have some great new members - Yorkie, Alexandria, Momine, CLC, forgive me if I missed anyone..... Glad for those "all clears" on the mammograms (oh, the joys of a BMX, did I say).
We'l have plenty of bar offerings for chemo sisters, so Glenna and Scuttlers can join us at BCO B&G as fully imbibing members. Our pastor is very thorough in her research and will come up with alcoholic drinks that can be magically taken at any time.
(((Otter))) I do hope you can come up for air. You and your DH have been through a lot with parents' ailments recently.
I miss Barbara too - I'd wish she'd come.
We do welcome conservatives, BTW, being a commie pinko isn't a requirement. Wishing Barbara would come back and post pictures of her cooking. I am sure the climate in FL is very tolerable.
And I don't want to know what the weather report says in my neck of the woods today. I have to go out, so there's no point in adding insult to injury. Metro delays on every line too - so nothing new there.
-
So that's why we can't be seen. We're hidden in plain sight, how clever of the mods.
-
Alexandra - broken tooth, ouch! New Dentist=aaaugghhhhhh!!!!! Almost as scarey as bc. Seriously, first visit to a new dentist is terrifying ( for me), so I'm projecting...hope all goes well.
CLC: taste buds. Must be, besides adoring licorice, I also LOVE cilantro - munch it fresh from the garden. Yup, know so many people ( was it Linda, so many posts to read now, which is lovely!) who hated cilantro? My favorite taste is "umami"- parmesgian cheese, hoisin souce, tamarind, better stop b4 some folks gag.
ADORE coconut. On my to do list is going to the health food store to find unsugared coconut milk to make sorbet..and plunk in some fresh blueberries - really thinking cocounut is becoming my favorite taste AND smell, which is a good thing cuz I use coconut oil to try to moisturize my lizard 5 yrs on Arimidex skin.
Yes, yorkiemom - we were all almost all "banned" by that group that posts on that other thread - many post at BCO with different names ( I'm sure someone will PM you with the list) and "drop in" as if they never said horrendous things about many of us in another place - still surprises me they "drop in" on this thread, but then we are "reminded" anyone can post anyplace they want - I have them on ignore, so I don't know what is being said, until someone posts a SENSIBLE response, then can kind of imagine the negativity that was posted b4.
Mostly attacking Blue, but many of us who came to her/our defense, were then attacked. Childish, but we've survived - and that's why this thread is not on the Active List. Makes me smile to remember all the names we were called - and then they'd "gang up" and report our posts, and then accuse us of "bullying."
OTTER: so sorry about your MIL. Sending you hugs, abalone, and all good thoughts...such a sad time...
hope all are having a good day - so nice to be up here in the woods...wild turkeys eating newly brush hogged grasses of next door field...hopefully we get some RAIN tomorrow...

I can't understand deliberate attempts to harm. I have never understood. I am 44 years old, and I still cling to some sort of naivete that assumes people will be kind, and if they are not, it is unintentional. Then I am stunned, as I have been several times here on bco. You'd think I would learn, but no, I revert to my naivete, and am stunned all over again. I will just have to accept myself as the gullible easy mark that I am... But I have to say, why? Why would anyone purposely go about attacking women who are simply trying to connect and support each other through breast cancer, while being themselves?
That is rhetorical, btw.
-
CLC I'll join the club of naivety as well. My DH as always said I'm more like a child in that respect. I would never intentionally do something to hurt another person. As he says I'm a sitting target for those who pray on others!
-
Hi, CLC, rhetorical, so I won't even try to answer. I would have described myself as you describe yourself, but seeing what some women have said on BCO ( haven't been on that other site after I was told about it) I would now say thata rather than becoming cynical, I have chosen "DeNile" - that isn't a river in Egypt ;-) it's the Ignore/Block button

On a more lovely note: this is wonderful- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9jghLeYufQ
-
Wow! That guy is like a rubber band or something.
-
Yes, reminds me of this guy. I still tear up when I think of him. I was right about him all along!

-
A very GENTLE SOUL!
-
Everytime I've been banned is for calling someone out, by name. "They" don't like that. Never name names is my mantra.......
Mary

Mary

Great mantra - and never use the name a person uses on another website, even if she's attacking a friend of yours or YOU, never do that, ah, well, at least most of the time we're very safe here...still think it's jealousy of our community here, but hey, anyone can be a commiepinkoflexatarianlibrulgangsta, and we've got great rainbowspangledscooters...
Meant to say - CONGRATULATIONS to eveyone who had great exams, mammos, visits. Will have my fingers crossed for you too Blue, re: bone scan...bbrrrrr...gives me the shivers when I think of them, and I don't have to go for it until November...
Off to a local art show - happy Bastille Day everyone!
-
Well I just learned a new thing today. I had never heard of Bastille Day so did a quick goggle search. Have fun at the local art show. Summer outdoor activities are so much fun!
-
Rabbit, Cold Duck came out on every holiday when I was growing up. In the 80s, when I was in the military, I discovered Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante. In Turkey, it was cheaper than water, so we drank it like water...
-
At a New Year's party in the 60s I asked my brother if he wanted some Cold Duck - he thought I meant cooked and cooled fowl. He tried the wine.
-
Hi all - back from the dentists with a newly patched tooth - a good and not too painful job. Decided I couldn't possibly have food I needed to chew - so ate frozen yogurt for lunch.
Happy Bastille Day!!
