Good luck Lisamarie  You were one of the last ones for your bmx and now you are the first for the exchange.

I can't sleep because of the dam steriods they gave me during the infusion yesterday. Totall sucks when I have a long day of work ahead of me.

Valerie- sorry about your job. I hope you weren't the insurance carrier.

I have to tell you a funny chemo brain story. I went to get a script filled for some numbing cream for my arm to use before the stick of the IV so I handed the guy the script the other day at CVS pharmacy. He looked at me like I had 3 heads and after about 15 minutes trying to enter it into the computer he said it was not listed. He then went over to the head pharmacist and came back and said I had to go to a medical supply store for it. I said, just for some numbing cream. He said, that is not what it writtern here. He handed it back to me and I finally got the old glasses out to read it. I had given him an old script for 2 mastectomy bra's that I had never filled. I started laughing, but still felt like and ass. My friends think it is so funny.

Lisa Marie- How do they look? Are they as you anticipated? I can't wait for my turn. I am ok for now with the expanders though. Not much I can do about it for quite some time. I am glad you feel relief.

Dianarose , I finally took my top off , lots of brusing from what I can see undercoming from top of bandages . I am sore today . I got silicone implants 400 cc in each . I am not too happy with the look as my right side (cancer side ) looks smaller still from left . I call today PS for my post op appt . I will ask why ? maybe its due to trauma from my surgery and the swelling and stuff maybe it just needs time to settle in . the good part is it is  really soft to touch . the bandages stay on for 2 days then i can take off and shower . I dont know . maybe i was expecting a different look . I am also still high up . but these are ?s today for PS . plus my diflucan needs to be called in as I am on keflex . do not need yeast infection from antibiotics. much Love and Hugs to u all

Vegan , The inside scoop on the implants .. hmmm dont know what to say . I got silicone round implants 400 cc each .i look lopsided but they tell me to wait for swelling to go down . my left side still under my arm a bit . im not too happy with the look yet , but its only been 3 days since surgery . ( im inpatient) i have to wear a sports bra all time it makes it feel okay . the pain is nothing compared to BMX . cant sleep on sides yet . they feel nice and soft compared to hard TE's . today my bandages come off and i can shower , I am afraid to look .. mine are still high too , I think i look funny , so guessing perky for life , my PS says saline drops after time but silicone will stay perky forever .. its very comfortable now though ...dont know if i answerd u ... also the biggest thing is the instant relief from the TE's ... as soon as u awake u feel amazing i wish u all the best in ur squishy journey Hugs 

Dianarose if i were doing nipples , I would wait 1 month then they reconstruct the nipple , then one more month after that the tattoo the areola on .. I am not getting mine done . I have 28 tattoo's so i am a wierdo and I am adding to my cllection gonna get something pretty tattoed over my scars .

Hope everything went smoothly LisaMarie.  I got a call today and they are going to let me get the exchange in August....probably near the end.  Now you can fill me in on everything that happens! 

I'm scheduled for my exchange on August 22!  New foobs here I come.  I will be excited to get rid of the one TE one old girl look, lol.

Hi ladies,  I always check this site to see if anyone popped in but I haven't really had anything to say until now.  NO CHEMO AND NO RADIATION NEEDED!!  I am so relieved!  My margin was within 1mm but they said a clear margin is a clear margin.  My oncotype on the left was 6 and on the right it was 16 so since they are both low, chemo would not be beneficial.  Now, I can get on with the rest of healing.  After my ALND I have had a lot of pain from the nerve damage so my exchange will likely not be for another six months as my body tries to heal.  Other than that, my energy is back to normal and I am resuming life once again (as I assume most of you are).  You all are always close to my heart and my prayers.  Good luck with all the exchanges and happy healing.

kristi- so glad you don't need chemo or rads. My Onco score was a 6 also, but with 17 positive nodes it really didn't matter if the score was a 0. Halfway through chemo. I am tired, emotional, bitchy, having hot flashes from Hell, but other than that I am doing ok I guess. I am totally sick of the wig and miss my dam eye lashes. Went to the store the other day and looked in the rearview mirror and I had wiped on of my eye brows off. It is a pain in the ass to say the least. I will be done chemo 11/5 and then rads start in December. The RO said I need to deflate the left boob prior too. It just sucks.

I did try to do some normal things this week. I entered a decorated cake contest and made a treasure chest. It was fun. I have a pie contest on Friday and a King Author muffin contest on Saturday. It's a lot of fun.

Nancy- sorry about the bleeding. I have been there and it does wear you down. Men just don't f'n get it. Not from the hair falling out to just plain being sick and tired of being sick and tired. Their day will come. I don't get sick pay at all where I work. No benefits at all. Just a pay check when I work. I am dam tired. I get 5-6 hours sleep at the most also and usually I have a bad dream or have to pee sometime during those hours.

I did however enter a lot of competitions the past several days just to feel normal. I made a treasure chest cake and not only won first but won an additional ribbon for Judges choice from all the exhibits. Usually a gorgous quilt or something gets the award. I was so excited. I won first on my oil painting, first on my yeast bread and won the blue berry pie contest. I now can go on to the state level in January. Today I won 1st in the King Aurthor Flour contest. We all had to make 6 muffins. I couldn't believe I won. I got a beautiful ribbon and a 75.00 gift certificate to their catalog. My son won 1st on 2 of his entries and 2nd in the King Author contest. We really kicked some ass this yr. It made me feel like I can still do the things I used to do.

Next week I will be back to reality on Tuesday with the beginning of round 4 of chemo. I stay in denial as long as possible.

Lisamarie- I am looking forward to get rid of the hard as a rock boobs. Something soft and squishy sounds so nice. Are you getting used to your new girls yet? I did buy a strapless dress and my boobs look great and no bra needed.

Keonghi- trust me, if I didn't have 17 positive nodes I wouldn't be doing this dam chemo either with a score of 6. I think having my overies out is going to be more beneficial than the chemo. I will do that at the time of my exchange.

Congratulations on your winnings! That's awesome! You rock! So glad that you have found that creative outlet. how wonderful that must make you feel! I would love to see a photo of your treasure chest cake.

In trying to determine the reason for so much breast cancer in my mother's side of the family, I just had a slew of genetic testing where I work at UT Southwestern, and there is a new 14-test breast cancer panel that was recently approved by the FDA. My insurance covered it at 100%. There was another test that I had done (Killen Methylation) that showed my genes are ok but there is a missing promoter or switch that turns off a defective gene when it should be shut off to prevent the bad cells from multiplying. A very experimental test that is being further developed here. My breast cancer surgeon is a pioneer in breast cancer genetics research....I feel most fortunate from that perspective. This family breast cancer mystery is something that has puzzled me my whole life. Having a daughter has made me really seek answers for her sake.

 I am not looking forward to flash menopause when they remove my 1 remaining ovary. The good thing is that I can do hormone replacement therapy because I have no more breast tissue.

 I am praying for you as you go through your next round of chemo. I have a friend recently diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Her sister also had breast cancer, but it was triple positive. She just did chemo round 3 of 4 this past Tuesday. She still thinks I am nuts for having the preventative mastectomies, but with both breasts full of LCIS, I am glad I did the surgery.
