LOL Maud!!!

Is anyone familar with the DR? Pretty much claims to cure cancer and seems darn credible !
-
Lots of controversy on that guy, Purple. It might be something that works, but until it gets FDA approval and is covered by insurance, you have to have big bucks to go to his clinic. Could be a while.
-
purple, someone had suggested i look into his tx when i was first diagnosed but from everything i was able to read, it seems like his methods are not legit and there are lawsuits against him.
-
Check out quackwatch.com. I sure wouldn't trust him.
-
Quackwatch is totally unreliable. Quackwatch has been sued many times and lost every time, having to pay court costs and damages.
Watch Burzynski the movie and make up your own mind.
-
Topless.... quackpots ? you gotta be kidding
Confused ramblings from the quackwatchers/skeptics' guru. Oh Boy !! he thinks he's a prophet, scarrrrry, is it halloween yet ?

Interesting!
Thx for the many replies- no worries as I don't have $100,000 to go to him anyway -
Purple, the Dr, another persona non grata here on BCO. The subject will not only attract ire and insults but the whole quackpot community. You may want to search for the existing thread on the subject or better yet visit his website
-
Thx for the heads up, Maud, but I really don't mind if people weigh in with some input. I am only asking about him, not saying I love the man . He *sounded* credible, and therefore, I am glad to be enlightened by bc.org No argument here !
I also don't plan on being censored here as long as I follow rules and am respectful.
I'm thinking thats what this forum is intended for .
THX

Maud,
Please don't cave to the harridans who sputter whenever Suzanne Somers or Dr. B are mentioned. I wouldn't call those two brave thought leaders personnae non grata. I would call them too smart for the status quo. They are trailblazers.
Let the non readers carry on. LOL.
Happy weelkend, kids. Blessings to all!

Purple, censorship at its worst, many many suffering women getting very badly hurt

There's a farm close to where I live, although I live in a surban neighborhood. The farmer asked us if we would like goats milk in exchange with helping him in milking his goats. We were pretty pathetic in the beginning. My family and I are improving
A friend, who has cancer e-mailed me info on goats milk. So...adding goats milk to our diet.
"Goatmilk has an alkaline reaction the same as mother's milk. Cow milk has an acidreaction"
"Goatsmilk contains a higher evolved carotene (pro-Vitamin A). Researchers have foundthis to have cancer preventing properties."As said, earlier, our female bodies need good estrogen. I think the estrogen from the goats milk is good estrogen. Right now, with the Herceptin damage to my heart, I need good estrogen.
It's encouraging to see a great group of alternative ladies here. Yea!
-
Thanks Evebarry about info on goat dairy, happy milking

Suzanne Sommer's books were the first ones that I read when I was first dx with bc. My decisions to avoid chemo and rads came from her discussions with doctors on these subjects. The ND that I go to in Florida was recommended in her book, and he follows a lot of her philosophy regarding supplements. She is clearly a trailblazer in the use of BHRT for hormone replacement. She is also a breast cancer survivor.
-
The series Forks Over Knives is very good at explaining how diet affects our bodies (TVvideo). Also, there is a very good book called The Harm We Do by Dr. Otis Webb Brawley. Both provide good information.
-
I suspect some ppl. have an issue with Somers for a few reasons.
First of all, who can afford to have their breast grown from stem cells ?
Secondly, it's difficult to respect someone who is 110% against conventional med when that is the VERY method she used for her own cancer. She had rads but claims she later regretted it..... still got the benefit of it,. I guess.I dunno'.
The jury is still out as far as I am concerned. Just saying I do see why some people feel conflicted.
Everyone has a right to their own opinion.

Thanks purple~
good post.

Just a word on Dr. B - no matter what you think of him, he isn't currently giving his antineoplastons to BC patients. I guess he's trying to do a study on brain cancer, so only brain cancer patients are getting it. If you go to him, he will give you chemo and Vit C, which you can get elsewhere (and your insurance will cover the chemo at an actual oncologist's office). I'll admit, I'm extremely skeptical of the man, but I will wait to see the results of his study. Until then, I think it's a waste of time for a BC patient to go to him, since you won't be getting anything different.

Dr. B has had the best results in treating children with brain tumors. He has had completel remission in many of them and they are alive today as proof. It works better if the child has the treatments before any conventional therapy, so that their immune systems are still intact, but it isn't mandatory. If one of my DGC were dx, I wouldn't hesitate to go see him for a consultation. The only reason he get a bad rap is because he refuses to bow down to the conventional medical community and turn all of his work over to them to bury forever.

I did a search for naturopathic oncoligist in my area of san diego ca and the only one that showed up was Vitalia, a dr. wolf runs it. Has anyone gone here or is there another place in the san diego area someone has confidence in? They are not doctors they are licensed naturapathics.

I tried dim plus and it caused me to have to increase my levothyriod medication. Then I read that you should not take it if you are.on a thyriod medication. I stopped taking dim plus, anyone else had this problem?
-
Windy5
I run toward being HYPERthyoid. May I ask..... are you hypo or hyper?
I was considering DIM after hearing that GSE has omega 6 in it. -
Hypo thyriod. Low underactive.
-
Windy, what TSH score would indicate hypo? Mine is usually near the low end of the normal range.
-
Diana - if you are aat low end of normal, that would not be hypo. I was at 46 when first tested, that was hugely off the charts, now w Levothyroxine I am at 2.45 most of time. And yes, I agree that DIM can make your dose increase, mine did, I had to go off the DIM suppls and def cannot take the 13c
DrB - first heard of him through Cable channel VeriaLiving. Some ins does cover this tx, most do not - yet. He had helped so many, the one show was The Incurables and on a boy w brain tumor but that program has run many on DrB . If I could afford the tx would be there in a second. But they are $4500 to $7500 monthly while seeking the complete response for long duration, then less intensive, less expensive, but it is pricey though they are not forever, and this does not include testing at the clinic. Insurance probably doesn't cover all tests either. I am reading a book that includes his treatments along with others. He is committed. I reason that if he is doing this for money, with a genius medical mind like he has going, he could choose an easier softer way to get through life. He wants to help and he is on to something good, even if not always successful with each person. He also will admit when he has been mistaken in tx, per the show, and correct the tx. Antineoplastons, the caps are less expensive than the light pump but sometimes they do not cut it. Lawsuits against him are mostly through state and FDA but these are moreaccepting of his practices of late. Privaate lawsuits were more because an individual agreed and used tx but when the health ins was filed and approved they then went woa - not an unapproved drug and tx and filed suit, happened a few times. Don't know of others but I don't know all of it. I would go, finances not an issue. Instead I am looking at Protocel, PolyMVA, 714X and more that are closer to affordable.

OK, I need some reassurance. I was diagnosed in March, lumpectmy in April and radiation June & July, no node involvement. Tried the AI's (2) and had terrible SE's. I think the side effects are worse than the disease for both AI's and Tamox. I am stage 1 and have an Oncoype score of 18. I have osteoporosis and am not a candidate for any approved treatment. I find the SE's for them unexceptable anyway. I am a healthy weight, eat well and other than osteoporosis, have no major health issues other than the CA. I want to skip the hormone treatments and treat myself with diet, exercise, and supplements. I get looked at like I'm a crazy person for wanting to do this. Am I alone out here? Anyone here taking the same path?
-
Hi Mini, it is so good to read your post, because I am going to be following the same path and I too was feeling quite alone! I had lumpectomy and SNB, no nodes, stage 1, grade 2, oncotype score 11. On my 4th week of radiation now w 2 wks to go. Have read many things about tamoxifen that I did not like. Most specifically how they manipulate the math to make it marketing. If 4% of women got BC on a placebo and 2% on tamoxifen, that means tamoxifen improves your chances by 2%. But they are saying 50% since 2 is half of 4. Not accurate! Not to mention SEs and risk of other cancer and everything else. I have not told my oncologist yet. Meanwhile, I have been doing so much research to put together a plan for myself as far as supplements, etc. We may be in the minority but I know it can be done! There is so much good information out there about natural solutions. There are several centers that look at complementary approaches to treating cancer too and once I finalize my plan, I may consult with one of them to see if there's anything I'm missing.
