Yay Kira! And welcome kam! Kam, we've had source discussions before but some insist on providing youtube videos as a source. I particularly enjoy the sound bites taken out of context. Yeah doggies!

I just had scans and got the all-clear, nearly three years after stage IV diagnosis. I have been NED the whole time.

Thank God for my current doctor, who stepped in with aggressive treatment when my ex-onc said I was just going to die anyway. Three cheers for my doc!

I'm just starting this BC journey, so its good to hear all of this good news.  Congratulations Kira.  Scootaloo - I have one of those MO's who is throwing the kitchen sink at me for a Stage 1, so I can totally appreciate aggressive treatment.  Congrats on being NED and thanks for the welcome.

I think some synchronized scooting is in order.

Kam - we got accused of being a "gang" so we decided to embrace it, climb up on our imaginary scooters and ravage the countryside by painting daisies on mail boxes. Oh yes, we are badass. :-)

And hooray for aggressive oncs! Sounds like you're in good hands.

Scoot, three years NED brought tears to my eyes. I'm am beyond thrilled for you.

And for everyone who has good scan results these days.

And for people who are struggling. My heart goes out to everyone.

Okay, I just bit#$-slapped myself on the back of my head. I am not so good that my heart goes out to everyone. I am not that good. Would love to get into that place, though.

Yeah - I guess I accidentally saved it by writing while the mods were busily almost shutting it Laughing

Thanks for the welcome folks.  I never had that drink yesterday... decided to save up for tonight.  My 3 month oncologist visit is this afternoon. Undecided  I'm not expecting any bad news, but - well, still a little nervous, ya know?

Congratulations Scoot on 3 years NED!!!  Also congrats to you, Kira.  Friday the 13th will be a completely lucky day for you.

aw, shucks, you "guys" are great - I was feeling bad - and I LOVE Woody Allen - in that same book, he writes a hysterical piece on a fellow who gets arrested for taking a white fish across state lines...

gardengumby - I was ALWAYS scared when I was on the 3 month schedule.  While my mind would tell me I was FINE, in my heart I knew what they were looking for!!!!  Don't get any less scared now that I'm on every 6 months, just get scared less oftenTongue out

And by the way, I refer to myself as a recovering Catholic. I'm still Christian, still go to church, just not Catholic.

I am perfectly happy to get my mammograms every 6 months, with an annual MRI thrown in. I like that a close eye is being kept on me. I know a lot of people's cancers were not found with the traditional annual mammogram, but mine sure was. It wasn't seen when I was 48, and there it was when I was 49. I couldn't feel it, nor could my doctor, even when we knew exactly where it was.

I think when I am returned to annual, rather than every 6 months, I will be a little nervous. As will I be when my 5 years of Tamoxifen run out.

    Mary
